When you increase the DPI, it more accurately tracks where it is. It will speed up as a result of the additional interpolation points it can use.

However, when this happens, players will lower the sensitivity within the game. You're making the classic mistake of linking DPI to speed - which isn't strictly true. They're independent of each other in the actual game. You will only the 'speed up' effect if you leave the mouse speed at the same setting. This defeats the point of a high DPI mouse, as like you rightly say, you'd be doing multiple 360 turns with the smallest of movements.

For a simple example of this, set your mouse at its highest DPI. Then lower your mouse speed in Windows to compensate. You now have a sensible speed for your mouse, but with the additional accuracy from the higher DPI :sunglasses:

Been using one if these for 18 months now, still works perfectly, only downside, as previously mentioned is the receiver range and the relative low dpi, the battery life is huge.

Think about what you guys are saying for just a second... "pro's" use low dpi? You'll find that they simply using what works for them, nothing logical about their choice of setup. People buying these high dpi mice then switching them to a low as possible whilst bumping up the sensitivity setting in game/windows makes me laugh. Utterly clueless.

Eh each to their own buddy. I am ranked very high in league and used to run top tier in cs:go at 8k DPI. I just can't stand slow mouse movement. But like I said each to their own. There's a pro that plays league on a trackball competitively. Now that's insane.

400 - 800dpi is what you'll find most pros use for FPS, at 7/8k you won't be hitting anything reliably, as the slightest movement would have you do two 360 spins - can't speak for LoL though. :stuck_out_tongue:

The insanely high dpi is most certainly marketing bs, the option is nice, but still a gimmick in terms of FPS.

Great mouse and so handy. Good few buttons on the side, very comfortable and you can use 1 or 2 batteries in it. I think they give you a couple of Duracell batteries with it. Also there's 2 modes a blue and green mode, green being power saving and blue performance :wink:

Haven't bought into anything. I have a history of gaming and technical prowess. Bigger DPI is naturally better. Gamers use different DPI depending on the game but if you play any kind of twitch game where reflexes win out you won't find anybody using less than 4k DPI. I use 6k for league of legends and around 7 or 8 for shooters.

I've got a g502 that I use with my gaming PC but I'm tempted to get one of these to try it and possibly use with my laptop. Aside from no adjustable weights and less buttons how does this compare ergonomically?

Problem is the mouse only goes up to a maximum of 2,500 DPI which is pathetic by gaming mouse standards. I just bought a corsair gaming mouse for £40 that has up to 10,000 DPI.

And again nothing for left hand players..

Great mouse. Prefer it over my Performance MX.

Great mouse, very reliable wireless connection, really long battery life and solidly built. But, it has a problem with the middle mouse wheel click eventually stop working, which is annoying if you like to use it to open/close tabs.

Logitech will replace it free of chance, but I'm now on my third replacement G602 and finally just bought a G900 out of frustration. Still a great deal though.

I went from a G500 to a G502, I've got small hands and could not get used to the grip of the G502, which seems more suited to claw/fingertip users.

The G500 for me fits better as palm grip style mouse. Is their a mouse out there which I could upgrade to, that's suited to a palm grip mouse?

I wouldn't recommend, simple for the skipping reasons. Made my internet browsing bad for months until I figured the problem. On the other hand it was great when it worked fine.

I ordered this as my G700 Logitech mouse is a complete waste of space when it comes to running on batteries, so much so that I have used it as a wired mouse for ages. I wish that I had returned it to Amazon when I realsied just how poor it was.

From what I have read this G602 should be an improvement over the newer but crappier G700.

Bought one a few weeks back on lightning deal. Sent it back after a few days. Had some occasional skipped beats, possibly cos of the amount of junk I have between receiver and sender....but I don't know - just didn't feel comfortable....maybe it was too accurate, but my web browsing and general use was always a bit wonky and could never get a perfect feel. Back to the good old dell cheapo wired :smiley:

Good for mousing, but the middle click on the wheel is prone to being useless after barely any use - just like mine :disappointed:

Great mouse, works on glass and shiny surfaces no problem. The default batteries it came with lasted me 4 months with 3 to 4 hours of use per day, just note that it doesn't use the unifying receiver found on other Logitech mice but still great nonetheless. Heat from me.
