Still looking for a TV and came to the conclusion as & when I take the plunge I'm going OLED. After doing some homework have came across this LG which is the 4k version and does support HDR. So sort of covers most bases for the foreseeable future.
The 920V has HDMI 2.0a ports which let the television play HDR (high dynamic range) content from external HDMI sources. In other words, the 55EG920 offers a greater degree of future proofing.
Also comes with 5year warranty if purchased before the 30th September.
Richer sounds are currently asking £1779 for the same TV.

do you even know what OLED is and how superior the picture quality is to old tech lcd leds?
for now LG is the only OLED manufacturer,so if you want the best,LG is the only option.
basically there is no other TV that can beat OLED quality,simple as that.

I'd also add that the brightness on LCD's look good in the store but kill your eyes after half an hour of viewing. As the OLED isn't as bright but goes to much darker, you get a higher contrast without the eye strain. If my plasma died tonight, I'd be buying this for sure.

I went to curry's yesterday and saw this there and I was blown away with the quality of this beast of a TV I could not believe it best picture I've ever since will definitely be saving up for one of theses

This has better picture being an OLED but if you game the KS8000 is a much better option because of the low input lag but also much brighter HDR for PS4 Pro and Xbox One S. In general forget the 4K bit really as going forward every TV will be 4K, however HDR will make a much bigger impact on the visual quality than anything else so in my opinion go with whatever has the best picture quality and does the best HDR if you can.
Also wait a couple more months as prices will drop for Christmas or at least get you'll get some decent bundles.
LG EG920V = 49.6 ms
Samsung KS8000 = 20.9 ms
The Sony XD93/XD850D are good options as well as they have an average input lag of about 37ms but will do something no other TV's will do which is 120Hz @ 1080p if that is something you're interested on.

When I'm stood next to all the TV's in a place like Curry's, the OLED looks a bit better than the rest. When you stand much further back however, or off at an angle, the difference is quality is even more apparent. The OLED isn't as bright as the LCD's but that black level adds so much more depth which makes it stand out.

These are true LED TVs, unlike the LCD TVs which are backlit by LEDs.
I have been waiting several years, for OLED TVs to be able to outperform my plasma TV, before buying another TV. Unfortunately, as yet, OLED TVs are not able to compete with the older plasma TVs. Hopefully within a year, OLED TVs will be released at a decent price point while sorting out the problems associated with current OLED tech.
What I do find shocking is computer monitors are still LCD and have not made the jump to OLED.

I'd also add that the brightness on LCD's look good in the store but kill your eyes after half an hour of viewing. As the OLED isn't as bright but goes to much darker, you get a higher contrast without the eye strain. If my plasma died tonight, I'd be buying this for sure.

Same here,the only tv that I will consider replacing my lovely Panasonic plasma will be an OLED.LCDs simply can't compete.
it's a real shame idiots at Samsung are still insisting on inferior technology of LCDs..they should hurry up and begin focusing on OLED.LG already surpassing them.but I really prefer Samsung TVs to LG in general.

I have the 960v model and in 4K either netflix streaming or sky q its awesome, will soon be getting a 4k player and see what thats like.
Its a good price from Amazon but when paying this much for a tv I personally feel you need multi year warranty for it.

tbh get the 950v, has 3d (I know people don't really care but some do, and for roughly the same price its worth having), and it's HDR over hdmi's too.

The EG930v does have 3D and comes with two pairs of glasses in the box. It also supports HDR over HDMI. Take a look at AVforums for confirmation. The curve is only slight and detracts little, if at all, from your viewing pleasure but does reduce reflections depending on your room layout. The viewing angles are simply spectacular by comparison to anything else I have seen, maybe the curve helps a little with this.
Best £1700 I have spent in a long time!

I've had mine for 6 months or so and love it, I really wasn't sold on curved initially but it grows on you and I think it does reduce some of the glare. well worth it if you are looking for a good picture, this replaced my Pioneer kuro 5080

I would recommend before buying any 4K TV to ask to see it with a 720p or SD feed beforehand when making your choice. The 4K feeds that the shop uses absolutely look stunning, but when I asked to see an LG 4K OLED with a 720p feed (can't remember which model) it looked poor due to the upscaling - almost a cartoon like outline for all ojects. Perhaps there is a way around this - I would like to hear peoples opinions on their experience with 720p feeds into 4K TVs.

Oh silly me, I was confusing it with a different one, I have looked at so many lately it hurts the brain...
How is the brightness on your set? Have you checked out the Samsung UE55KS9000 or 8000 at all for comparison? I hear they are great for HDR but of course cannot replicate the true blacks and viewing angle of OLED. I have the LG OLED55C6V and it is indeed stunning, but may not be as good for HDR. I'm going to go check out the Samsung before I fully decide if i'm keeping it though, as they didn't have any to compare to when I was in store before.

I have this tv. Bought from richer sounds in a flash deal for £1699 6 years warranty. So this is a great deal although don't know much about rgb. I love the TV OLED is really the way forward especially as a lot of things still in 1080p / SD. It has hdr from all sources. Only wish they did a 65 inch!
Only missing ultra 4k premium (hdr standard) but oled and normal hdr worth it over non oled hdr premium in my eyes.

BTW what's the current problems which oled currently face? I haven't been reading much about them since I last researched for my smart tv 2 years ago. Hehe

I'm happy with the 910V which i paid £1349 last year, all the stuff i have been watching and consoles play are at best 1080P, 10-bit x.265 stuff looks great on it!
The older and still mass consumer targeted technologies (lcd LED) benefit from HDR more so than OLED ; OLEDS it just makes things even better. HDR can be pretty temperamental for LG as it has it’s ABL (auto brightness limiter) and not friendly for game mode unless you want massive input lag; im sure they’ll rectify that with upcoming firmware?
The C6's will be around this price if not a little more by the end of the year, i'd recommend people to hold out for the new lineup as this years models are so much better in terms of technology and this TV is pretty old relatively!

I bought this two months ago from Richer Sounds to replace an 8 year old LCD. If anyone is wavering, go for it, the picture quality is superb. When watching in a blacked out room, it is properly pitch black when the screen goes dark!
Supports 4K HDR over HDMI although not tested that yet. I've played 4K content over Netflix, the built in Plex client and Sky Q UHD, all look good, although the Sky & Plex streams seem better than Netflix.

Ok so the 920 and 950 both support HDR via hdmi
The 960 has HDR via streaming only.
960 was a currys specific unit with 920 going to other shops like richer sounds.
So 920 curved oled HDR via hdmi with 3D
950 the same except it's flat screen
960 curved oled HDR streaming only with 3D

yes OLED is absolutely in a galaxy of it's own, I'm so happy that this technology is possible in my lifetime. You need to put an OLED next to an LCD (any) in a pitch black/very dark room and observe
the difference is shocking and really makes you wonder why people even buy LCD's anymore (I'm talking about enthusiasts). Great deal and the 920V has plenty of brightness at 449 nits - that's only 91 nits off UHD Premium
