Not sure if this is anygood, but thinking of getting it.

Obligotary link for rubbis CPW website https://www.carphonewarehouse.com/lenovo/kia.html#!colour=silver&capacity=6GB&dealType=sf

I cant find this model else where so not sure if it has another name.

Seems to have Android Marshmallow and NFC so some of the thing i would be looking for.

Sorry for the lack of image, im using a vista computer and it wont show up (but will on my phone)

Edit: received my phone, specs on website are all wrong, it's the normal k5 Vibe.

I'm not believing it's 6GB surely would be 8GB or 16GB.

I'm more interested about whether it is really Marshmallow and more so the NFC.

Will order later I think, give it a shot should be here Thursday.

Will update here with a model number and confirming specs.

All good, I passed it onto my 10 yr old son for no reason other than I got the wife's Galaxy S6 when she upgraded to an S7.
He was running on a Lumia 520 so Android is an upgrade, he has a Nexus tab he has barely touched he uses the phone for everything instead.

I've found the IR blaster invaluable and wouldn't go without one now that most manufacturers are pushing them out lol!

Edit: debating wether to keep mine or not when it arrives tomorrow, I'm sick of CPW lying on their site.

Edit 2: so is this vibe K5 better than Moto 3rd gen 2gb version.

Just to confirm cpw have the specs completley wrong, the box says K5.

Edit sat 14:00h : I opened the box up as I decided to keep it, it comes with a case and screen protector inside. The website chose silver for me when I clicked charcoal but on opening up, even the the box has the white version pictured it was black, so happy with that.

It came with android 5.1.1 but is doing some sort of system update right now, so waiting to see if it upgrades android (doubght it).

Also could people please click expire seeing as CPW posted a load of crap about the specs.

CPW are happy for me to return the phone, however they expect me to pay for its return by post or go to a store.

Just raised a complaint on the web form on their website, I'm not prepared to go 4 miles and queue in a store or pay £4-£8 for delivery to them.

Much disappointed, they messed up the spec!

Thanks for clarifying the specs. Any chance u could post any photos of the phone (or the one your using since the same)
Is it lollipop or marshmallow?
It's really not hard to get the spec right I mean they just have to read the box so I've no idea how cpw messed up. Totally understand ur frustration about returning had a right carry on with a different store recently myself after they screwed up

My nipper has MM on his LG G2 and it's pretty smooth and rapid. the thing that always lets these type off devices down is the camera. You can be pretty sure it will not be as good as the G2's.
As for Android N dev support on the G2, they are on it already: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/rom-aosp-caf-t3454629

Personally if I had £150-£200 to spend on a non-chinese phone that was smaller than 5.5" (too big for my small hands!), I would go for the Huawei P9 lite. Fantastic for the price, and excellent screen.

If this is a rebranded K5 Plus then there's a chance it won't have NFC. GSMArena have a review on the K5 Plus and they state it doesn't have NFC. All the other specs seem to match this including screen size/resolution and battery size.

I currently have the Xperia Z2 and am no longer in a contract (with EE). I'd like to get another smartphone, about the same size screen as the Xperia Z2 with a pretty decent camera (think I currently have 20 meg.p). However, I'm trying to reduce my monthly direct debits, so would be quite happy to have a cheaper smartphone - currently paying around £28 a month for 500 MB, unlimited texts and minutes. I would definitely need a minimum of 1GB as I have run out of space, but would want to pay around, say, £25 a month - can anybody recommend a smartphone please that fits this bill?

EE won't unlock the phone, you'll have to pay EE for a code or get one from eBay for 10-12 quid.
If you keep your Z2 you don't need to do anything - just swap the SIM and all your other info on your phone will remain.
If you decide to go for another phone, the apps and Contacts will get migrated when you use your same gmail address to sign in to the new phone. As far as photos and the like, you should back them up. That can be done using Google Drive, through the Google Photos app which will back all your pics for free to Google's Cloud. Otherwise, get a memory card and copy all the pics over to that. pop that in your new phone and your good to go.
The above a short summary of what you'll need to do. Feel free to PM me if you need any more info

Thank you for the advice. My two-year contract is up with EE but I still have to give them 30 day's notice to leave. Do you know if EE unlock the phones when the two-year contract is up, or, do I have to pay EE to do this? If I change over to say, this deal that you have mentioned, what about all my apps, photos, contacts, etc, on my current phone - will 3 transfer all of the data over free of charge, or will I have to load all of my apps, etc, again? Thank you.

I think CPW might have the spec wrong, I'm pretty sure that this is Lollipop not Marshmallow - there are lots of threads on Lenovo's forums e.g.: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/K-and-Vibe-Z-Series-Smartphones/Marshmallow-update-for-lenovo-vibe-k5-plus/td-p/3306576

Still this looks like a good Dual Sim, LTE + LTE, (Dual Standby) + microSD card phone with NFC. Just missing a fingerprint sensor & LED notification to keep everyone happy!

No, I was replying to rantantan who asked how it compares to the Moto G4.

I don't think so. I'm willing to bet the camera, screen and battery life (although your battery is probably pretty old by now) on the G2 is better, performance might be a tiny bit better on the Kia but I don't think it would be noticeable. Only pro's of this Lenovo Kia would be having Marshmallow and most likely an upgrade to Nougat, unless you're willing to flash custom ROM's to get Marshmallow on your G2.

Just an opinion of course.

I actually contacted CPW and Lenovo about this handset the other day, according to Geek Squad the specs are correct on the CPW website (for some reason Lenovo don't even have them) and it's a CPW web exclusive which is why you won't find any info on it elsewhere. I also went into a store to ask about it and they had no idea what it was.

It's tempting, the only sticky point being the 6GB of Internal Storage, unless they did actually write that wrong and it's 16GB.

Edit: I agree with Billythekid116, the specs match up with the K5 Plus, so the 6GB storage is probably a typo on CPW.

@ rantantan: The G4 is bigger (11mm taller, 5.6mm wider, 1.8mm thicker and 13g heavier), it has the Snapdragon 617 chipset compared to the 616 the Kia has, the clock speeds are listed as the same, so I guess it's just some sort of newer revision and it has a bigger battery with fast charging capability (although you have to buy a Turbo Charger seperately). I expect both will get updated to Nougat although I reckon the G4 will get priority. G4 is around £20-40 more expensive depending on the deal.

I take you you mean the LG G4. The G4 would be an easy choice.
The camera on that will slaughter the one on the Lenovo, the camera on the G4 is still one of the best on the market in 2016.

I've read full spec on CPW and compared to GSMarena it's definitely Lenovo Vibe K5 plus with 5inch Full HD screen, Octacore Snapdragon 616, 2GB Ram, 16GB internal storage 13MP and 5MP cameras Stereo Speakers Battery 2750mAh and Marshmallow. If you don't mind future Android updates it's very good alternative for Moto G series, especially it's cheaper, has NFC, and smaller with 5inch Full HD screen. I've had a Moto X Play with 5.5 inch. After one week I gave up because not handy size at all and exchanged for Galaxy A3 2016 (£150 at Cex) - excellent compact from Samsung with better battery life than Xperia Z3 compact (I had one)
