I think this is a great deal, £379 for a thin 14 inch laptop with an i5, 8gb ram and an ssd, with a 1080p IPS display. A couple years ago you would pay that much for a crappy acer with a pentium processor a slow 500gb hdd and the most potato like 1366x768 display eughhh

As you will have gone for the "buy now pay later" option it is actually the same as getting cash as long as you dont pay off the credit until after you get the cashback.
The £100 credit will be taken off the amount you still owe.
As soon as the £100 has been credited you can then pay off the outstanding amount interest free.
Looks like a good deal to me.
I think its the description thats wrong, same model is 256gb on Lenovo website.

I did a similar deal earlier this year.
The only thing to watch out for is that the £3.99 delivery charge is not part of the "buy now pay later" deal although its added to the cost of your laptop & charged to your account.
You will have to log into your Very account & pay the £3.99 within a couple of weeks of receiving the laptop.
Also don't pay off the laptop too soon - you want the £100 credit to come off what you owe Very. If you pay it off before you get the cashback then the cashback will go into your account as credit (which you don't want).
I've actually got the 500s version of this laptop & am very happy with it.

The best you can hope for is Very's website as even Lenovo's own is vague due to it being sold in different guises.
I would avoid this as both me and my sister were not allowed to have the credit without any reason or explanation why, both times the person at the other end hang up the phone with no explanation whatsoever. Disgusting customer service by very. I could understand why I was not allowed, but there is no explanation why she wasn't with a perfect credit score. I guess they realised how much this £100 back is going to cost them so now they are refusing to grant bnpl even though the initial application was 'successful'.
Sellers have no access to anything other than your credit score. How don't you know that? Do you really want a random person working at Very to know your financial history? It sounds like you were rude to someone who did their job correctly. In the future attempt to use common sense please

Your link is wrong, but I have had a look. You are referring to machines that were built prior to this machine - full list here.
The last I heard of anything like this going on was viruses being released to target a specific bios, in a time when there were not too many variants. This is quite concerning, it's seems like yet again, privacy is being eroded. This machine (and no machine in the past year) are subject to this "feature" as Lenovo call it.
I stand by my original post, you don't make sweeping comments like that without providing some background but I'll hold my hands up that albeit poorly, you were making a point irrelevant as it is now.

I have never been rude to anyone because I do work in this sort of customer service environment myself so I do know better than anyone else what it's like. To me the only explanation was that my details are incorrect and the lady on the phone seemed to rush the stuff she wanted to say as soon as possible and end the call as soon as possible. My sister received no explanation and the call was ended immediately after she was told that she ain't getting credit. Now explain me how person can get a mortgage of hundreds of thousands of pounds and be refused for something that costs £479. She was offered £1000 initially to whereas I only got £600 myself.

go on quidco sitefor very http://www.quidco.com/very/?st=very&tr=158&fn=home&fr=top&si=57cef743dae73&sv=4-MS
check the terms and conditions
"Cashback will not be paid on iPhone purchases
Cashback will not be paid when a voucher code has been used
Please also see the retailer's standard terms and conditions for purchase as listed on their site
Cashback will not be paid in conjunction with any other offer, voucher or discount code unless listed on this page, or with any other discounts such as staff or student discounts
Cashback may not be paid on VAT, delivery, card payment fees, taxes or any other additional charges"
to me this was important "Cashback will not be paid in conjunction with any other offer, voucher or discount code unless listed on this page, or with any other discounts such as staff or student discounts"
since this is an offer for £100 cashback (from very) I thought less likely to get it honoured, (the seller will go through your claim at the end before it makes a decision so even if its tracked it doesnt mean you'll get it, like what if you returned the item etc)
so for that reason I didnt go through quidco site, still I dont see how it can affect the very offer, but then agaon I've heard you dont want to deal with very if anything goes wrong, maybe a good idea to send them an email to confirm your situation, for peace of mind, since the reason why we are buying this laptop is for that £100 cashback otherwise theres nothing special about this laptop at full price

I'm not buying this laptop (already have the 500S).
I did manage to get a 10% discount off of Very under similar circumstances where the had advertised a Laptops screen as being FHD when it wasnt - & that description was in the small print not up in the bold "Headline description".
Just dont waste too much time with their telephone customer service, they really have to stick to pretty crap scripting. Move quickly to sending an email to someone who can make a decision - I found [email protected] helpful. I had opened and used the laptop before I complained which made it less attractive for them to have it sent back as a return.

6 Sep 16#62
It depends what you want to do with it as usually you pay a premium for smaller laptops as they tend to be more portable. That said this comes in at a starting weight of around 1.7kg which is heavier than an ultra portable but lighter than most 15.6" laptops. I too can't find any variations of this model with a 128GB SSD at any seller or in any reviews, they imply that the i3 spec comes with a 1TB mechanical drive and the i5 up come with 256GB SSD's. I also think that this should come with DDR4 as again all the models I have seen in reviews and on the Lenovo website suggest that it does. Mine arrives tomorrow so will be hopefully be able to confirm the specs.

7 Sep 16#65
So does the red version, although more expensive, have 256 or 128 do you reckon. Also, Is the extra money still value to get 256GB? I'm concerned 128GB will not last me long by the time I've put some software on the machine.
First impressions are good overall.I can confirm it does use DDR4. The screen is nice and bright, the keyboard feels nice to type on and is back lit. The track-pad is a touch sensitive but I've not tried tweaking it yet. I've just spent the last 30 minutes uninstalling all the bloatware that Lenovo install as well as the plethora of apps that Microsoft installed too. I bought it to replace my ageing Acer Aspire 410 which had a Celeron processor and only 4GB ram as it was struggling to keep up with the amount of tabs I like to keep open in Chrome.
To be honest I had swapped out my HD in my Acer for a 128GB SSD which was more than ample for my needs and so likewise I'd have still bought this regardless. I've been looking at replacing mine for a while and I couldn't even find a similar spec machine on the Dell outlet website close to this price.
yorkie
7 Sep 16#67
I really don't know but they would have little wriggle room to provide a full refund as unlike the white version the description says 256GB too.
Personally I think the red isn't worth the extra money as £50 will buy you pretty much a decent 256GB SSD which if you are comfortable enough could swap with the 128GB one and sell that on Fleabay or keep it as a spare.
I plan to buy something like this to expand the storage.

Was thinking this myself but if discount is offered & it takes the price below £450 it may only qualify for £50 cashback so could potentially end up costing more.
By the way this is a cracking little laptop, very fast & high build quality. It has replaced a three year old Dell Inspiron with i5 processor & dedicated graphics, the Lenovo is much quicker probably due to the ssd & newer i5. Only downside is that there is only about 70gb of free memory on the hard drive.

The Radeon is barely any better than the integrated intel chip, but uses a lot more power, and generates more heat.
Personally prefer a faster but smaller SSD to a slower but larger HDD in a laptop.
Personal again, but prefer the thinner and lighter form factor of this machine
Don't think your one has an IPS screen either.
More RAM is always good, but the difference here won't really be noticeable for 99% of people.

has anyone got any more specific information as per chat etc which can be quoted
Lenovo Link
They already discount me £25.
My question:
Can I use both promotions at the same time?
The balance is £458.98 after £25 off.

The last I heard of anything like this going on was viruses being released to target a specific bios, in a time when there were not too many variants. This is quite concerning, it's seems like yet again, privacy is being eroded. This machine (and no machine in the past year) are subject to this "feature" as Lenovo call it.
I stand by my original post, you don't make sweeping comments like that without providing some background but I'll hold my hands up that albeit poorly, you were making a point irrelevant as it is now.
looks good for the money thanks op

check the terms and conditions
Im in two minds, the other laptop im thinking is this
http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/X0N33EAABU-HP-250-G5_1959038.html
any thoughts on which is better, yes the HP is about £45 more but you get bigger screen and more storage plus its ddr4, cant find what the lenova is
I ended up buying the lenova, better build quilaty and better panel (hp was a tf panel) I'm happy with my choice and looking forward to recieving it soon, please let me know what you think of yours, I've heard the touchpad is the only thing that lets this laptop down, except for that I am only hearing good things

To be honest I had swapped out my HD in my Acer for a 128GB SSD which was more than ample for my needs and so likewise I'd have still bought this regardless. I've been looking at replacing mine for a while and I couldn't even find a similar spec machine on the Dell outlet website close to this price.
Personally I think the red isn't worth the extra money as £50 will buy you pretty much a decent 256GB SSD which if you are comfortable enough could swap with the 128GB one and sell that on Fleabay or keep it as a spare.
I plan to buy something like this to expand the storage.

definitely not white, its silver
Review here.
im excited mines coming tommorow, I should wait but want to know now lol
hows the noise levels?
have you benchmarked the ssd?

I doubt I'll go for a screen protector as my laptop tends to stay in one place except for when I go overseas. I may get a sleeve at some point.
For some reason the small print has changed to show 256 hard drive too now, no where does it mention 128. I know that's what you'll get but we'll worth a cheeky claim after to get some more credit back or something
By the way this is a cracking little laptop, very fast & high build quality. It has replaced a three year old Dell Inspiron with i5 processor & dedicated graphics, the Lenovo is much quicker probably due to the ssd & newer i5. Only downside is that there is only about 70gb of free memory on the hard drive.
monthly payment?
does that mean that anyone that buys one now gets twice the storage for same price?
I'll be real **** if that is the case, I havent even opened my parcel yet
£50 for extra 128GB samsung storage, seems okay, I'm happy with 128GB for £479
storage prices will have plummeted by the time I consume it
that one ? does look good, only missing the ssd isnt it, bigger screen too. I dont know much about graphics cards so not sure
Costs 20% more
The Radeon is barely any better than the integrated intel chip, but uses a lot more power, and generates more heat.
No SSD, which from reading all the lappie threads I shoud opt for. Is it a dealbreaker? Any feedback gratefully received.

look at how much the keyboard flexes.
If you dont need one straight away wait, good laptop deals are on here atleast once a week.
If you dont need lots of storage, get an SSD one period. nothing will make it feel as quick as an SSD.

The megahot ASUS heated here 2 years ago has been my worst nightmare twice. It went to repair repeatedly until the warranty ran out with a driver power state error, final straw the pixels have now gone, and I'm reduced to reading everything on the right hand side in a half sized window. Thank goodness it's a 15.6" screen!
I've been noticing that laptops are coming out with FHD screens now, thats a good thing.
Dont worry christmas is coming up, you would get abosolutly amazng deals soon, if you can wait that long.
But yeah did you see how much that keyboard flexed, omg so cheap build
had mine for 4 days, still not opened it, will do later today
Delivery by Tuesday 18 October, 2016
Bet they cancel it and I miss out on the offer
I bought a house and a car - no problem. Tried to put a sofa on credit, no dice. Go figure.
the red one has went to this price now, still waiting on stock for the white one... :-( not sure if I should cancel and get a different one in case they don't get stock. the deal ends today but can't see anything that would handle medium gaming at this price hmmm
Happy to be wrong.
