Hmmmm 6500u 1TB 8GB laptops go for £430. Because most change their HDD for an SDD and hardly anyone will use 12GB of ram on a laptop the main selling point for this laptop is the 920mx. But still, I don't feel the 920mx has enough horsepower over the standard Intel 520 graphics to warrant the extra £220 you're spending on this. Just my 2pence

I never said the £430 Ideapad 300 had better graphics. The 920mx is faster than the discreet Intel 520 but not fast enough to justify £220 extra.
Always a lot of opinions, so few examples. :smirk:

extra hundred off! don't know if it's worth it or not having read the comments on here still !!! probably decent but the i7 doesn't seem much better than an i5 in laptops and no SSD worries me

This laptop is a joke. Slower than i3 due to weak dual core CPU. And the graphics card is not much better than ZERO.

that's more expensive than if you buy this from little woods ? slightly better GPU but worse processor hmmm
How do you get the 25% cash back? topukcashback only does 10.5%

12GB of RAM is completely and utterly useless for most users, it won't stop the n00bs buying it because the higher the numbers the better it must be right.
Could even offer them £479.99 (previous history shows was sold for £479.99)

Too expensive for the graphics card it comes with. A year ago, I got a lappy with nVidia 960M 4GB VRAM for the same money, and it's also Dell (significantly better build quality than my previous Lenovo). This comes with 920MX 2GB. Save for a better deal, and, better yet, wait for the 10X0 series which will have performance very close to their desktop counterparts without being very costly.
if you buy this through little woods it works out as 525 with 25 percent cash back, think I might go for it, only 145 more than the i5 with the graphics card, better processor and bigger screen....

I think the Ideapad 500 with the i5 and the Radeon R7 m360 for £483/£383 with credit was much better value for most people.

It's these kinds of discussions that had me move to console gaming years ago!

Tom between this lenovo or this one, pre ordered it in white but it's out of stock for a month, still available in red but unsure on the colour
Is there enough extra to pay for on this ? I5 and i7 on laptops don't seem to be much different? Then there's the graphics card which isn't great for high end gaming and the less storage SSD vs more storage HDD. Performance wise I'm not sure how much better it will be if any without an SSD

Not worth the extra. Poor gpu, although you really shouldnt get either if its simply to game anyways. Anyways this is a solid deal if you use for pretty much anything an average user would do apart from gaming.
