Spotted a decent deal for Lego Mindstorm EV3. Listed at £210 on Tesco direct with voucher code TDX-HTNK giving £25 off spends over £150 resulting in net price of £185 (addition charges for delivery - free collection).
Note the voucher expires 25th September.
I've ordered one - will give feedback as to how decent the delivery packaging is.

I was gonna list this. Hope it gets hot.
I'd waited for the Argos 3 for 2 and hope to sell on 2 but Argos have it for £299 (£598 for 3 making this cheaper than that)

Cheers for the comment. It seems a good deal to me - I haven't seen Mindstorm much cheaper.
My only reservation is how Tesco Direct package Lego - in my experience it is usually a polybag so the box may get a bit battered.

Any time ive ordered Lego from Tesco its always been in a box, even the smaller sets!!

Once you get to the point where you've exhausted what the inbuilt controller can do, I can recommend BrickPi :- http://www.dexterindustries.com/brickpi/
Lets you replace the control unit with a Raspberry Pi, and you can then use Python (or presumably any other language) to talk directly to the sensors and motors

My friends and I bought 3 of these last November when Argos had them for £230 each. On their 3 for 2 deal it came out to about £154 or so per person. Then Tesco had them at £220

My experience of polybags has been close to Christmas time - perhaps when they get busy they go polybag? Mine has also always been click and collect, not delivery.
for those of you experienced with Lego robotics, what are pro and cons between this and the WeDo kits they seem be mentioned not on Lego education sites? and only £125 on Amazon

Just remembered to come online and post this deal tonight as ours arrived by courier yesterday (same deal) but you've beaten me to it! If it helps it arrived in its box within a protective box and then an additional outer box so luckily it arrived very secure and hidden from inquisitive eyes!

I collected mine last night. Packaging was superb. Item was still in lego outer box with plastic ties and then in a Tesco box.
Much better than my previous experiences!

Same here, they must have the same packing guy as Amazon, the tesco box used was about 5 times too big and filled with loads of bubble wrap.

yep same as Argos home delivery meaning you're better off C&C then you can at least reject it.

Along with getting it delivered for free, if it looks damaged when they hand it to you, at least you'd have someone from Tesco right there to complain to
