Smyths Toys are doing 20% off the set and if you order online you can use code ST20 for a further £20 off, in turn getting it for £163.99 saving you £66.00 (if my poor math skills are not failing me).
Closer to the price it probably should of been in the first place.

I beg to differ about Lego. I am sat right now on page 273 of set 10179 and it has brought me nothing but joy. These big sets are aimed at adults. Maybe I'm a big kid.

It is bricklinked, managed to get old grey levers and some expertly painted 6.6l posts, along with some fake lego rigging to keep the cost well below normal

Wow, I get that this is cheaper than rrp, but paying this much for lego is absolutely insane! Its just a kids toy!

You obviously don't know very much so prob shouldnt comment. It's also a very good investment if you pick the right sets, and this isnt even one of the most expensive ones. Have a look at the Death star or Disney Castle for just the more recent ones. Have a look on ebay for how much a UCS model y-wing sells for and tell me it's a "just a kids toy". Life is about perspective...

Show off :smirk:
The new non UCS one (75105) was lots of fun to build though, especially as me and my partner could both do it .
Had the opportunity to own this at this price before when it was 20% off and £20 off instore over £100 but, not a huge batman fan so doesnt make sense, we put the money towards the Ewok village at Smyths last weekend instead.
PS FoxForce5, Lego Simpsons House also expensive, also mine, have no kids, allllllll mine (and my partners I suppose :stuck_out_tongue:).
But heh, I dont spend money on make up, handbags and shoes. So yeah, horses for courses.

Fair enough, I knew adults collected star wars & some of those limited edition lego, but didn't realise they collected other lego too & thought it was mostly just to keep for a couple of decades so their kids could sell on for a healthy profit.
The price still seems pretty excessive for what is essentially a load of plastic, but horses for courses I suppose!

Nabbed it for this price a few weeks ago. More than happy with it for this price.
It's not been built but the figures have had me wanting this set for some time anyway

Yes a good deal heat added, but better off buying instore if you can, going by my experience if your fussy about the box condition.

That's why I used the click and collect, so I could choose another box if they fobbed me off with something tatty

Great nostalgia, but personally the set looks a little thin for even the lower price.
