Almost every powerbank over the last few years has 2A+ as standard. Some of the cheaper / older ones are 1.5A, but 1A is terrible.

I've just been through a few pages on Amazon for powerbanks, and I can't find a single one that's 1A. It's not standard at all.

Unless you really need a powerbank / micro SD combo, then I'd avoid personally.

Mine arrived. Complimentary Vodafone SIM in the package, and in the box was the power bank, a pouch, and a short USB-MicroUSB cable. Showed two out of four lights on arrival, and it took another 1048 mAh to reach full charge.

I got mine today. It's a bit bigger than I though but not too bad. It was charged to 3 lights and seems to be charging up my phone at the same rate as a wall charger. No pouch :disappointed:

Got mine going...charged my G4 from 50% to full in about 1 hr and half ...and 3 lights left not bad.

Nope it would indicate the charge is to slow and I also added a pic of it saying charging slowly, so if you assume that automatically means it won't charge then that's your assumption.

The pooch is ok, just like a typical felt phone pouch with pull strings and a bobble to keep it closed. There is a space in the packaging purposely for the pouch at the top. I'm guessing someone has taken it out :smirk:

Mine too. Only makes the noise whilst charging my phone with the screen on. Turn screen off and charges fine with no noise.

It charged my phone (2500mAh battery) from 45% to full in 1hour 45mins. Afterwards, the power bank had 3 of it's 4 LEDs still lit.

I immediately plugged it into my Anker 5 port charger. Two LEDs were lit & the third was flashing. After an hour all four LEDs were lit, i.e. fully charged.

mine had 3 bars when it arrived, had it charging for a couple of hours and still on 3 bars, will fully drain it and re charge to test fully

Did everyone else have any charge when they received it??? mine does nothing when i try to turn it on. Does it have to be fully charged for hours before i even attempt to turn it on? Just the top light blinks while charging for mine. Agaion can't make out from the instructions if this is normal..

Thanks OP. Heat added. Already have 3 power banks. Don't really need this one, though it's pocketable, unlike my other >10000mAh banks. Ordered it yesterday, & received it today. Looks & feels like excellent quality for a Fiver. Nice little drawstring pouch is a welcome bonus.

Mine just arrived, feels solid and my S5 is shows 1200mA charging rate. That's exactly twice as much as I get from my wireless Qi charger and that works fine so I'm happy with the purchase.

I mentioned before, businesses aren't charities and there is probably a reason why these are being got rid of cheap. But it might not be a bad reason. The couple I bought didn't come with the carry pouch. It might be something as simple as that, obviously the big companies can't sell something that isn't complete. Definitely met my expectations, smart -looking device, not too heavy and not a scratch risk. And it hasn't burst into flames yet.

Mine (x2) have turned up. Nicely made (other than that shiny plastic that collects fingerprints and scratches) and having an integrated cable is such a godsend - usually this is reserved for those brands like Mophie at the Apple Store but also costing ten times the price - and it still has a normal USB full-size port. Excellent find and value.

Sorry I didn't mean to start a contest. None of these companies and eBay sellers are charities. £5 is pretty much what these are worth but it looks like a step up from the anonymous stuff at this price. Also I don't know for a fact that these are not rubbish. It's good to be aware that these only charge one amp.

Cheap for a reason, 1A output meaning it's a very slow charge and most modern phones will come up with a on screen error stating charge to slow .

depends on the purpose I guess.. for me its useful for those occasional long haul trips to keep the tablets powered.. light enough to not bother the kids too much but enough juice to keep them quiet ! :wink:

I hear what you're saying but the internals and battery will be off-the-shelf generic components , I am not minimising your experience though.

I currently have one from Anker (Astro E7 2nd Gen - 25600mAh, much bigger and beefier) - it's spectacular, and I imagine newer ones are even better. My experience with older KIT: MyCharge devices was pretty pathetic.

We had 2 similar (not identical) devices from KIT: - both lost their ability to hold a charge very, very quickly. They were OK for a month or so, then quickly lost it.

I presume this is smaller and cheaper

personal preference really but this looks quite good, is small and powerful enough for the average user

I do think this power bank ticks some useful boxes.
It is slim , it has a built-in cable and is made of plastic so it won't scratch your phone , and it doesn't have a light to worry about accidentally turning on . I think this is a good size compromise , takeoff the 33% inefficiency you've got about one full charge of a normal smartphone .

This is a typical Micro USB OTG cable which is what you would need is you wanted to use the MicroSD reader with your mobile. This would allow you to connect the USB cable from the MicroSD reader (MicroUSB input port) to the MicroUSB port of your Android phone. Mobile on the last Android OS should support it straighaway. But if not you would just simply have to install a free app.
