I recently played JC2 and loved it so I thought I'd try JC1, but I couldn't get into it as it just seemed to be so crude compared to JC2.

Me too. I gave up after an hour or so. Probably would have enjoyed it if I hadn't already played part 2.

Crazy game set in a huge open world that is a nod to GTA games. Loads of side missions but they do become repetitive. JC2 is the better game though.

Quite so, though there is a resolution change tool you can download and copy into your JC folder which allows you to set resolution to 1920 x 1080 for hor+.
