Iphones always lock to the first SIM you put in and I'm not sure whether they've changed this or would have any reason to. It's far too 'innovative', you see. SIM free is not "unlocked" with Apple.

Because it's bloody annoying - if you buy the phone outright, good chance you are using SIM-only and want the freedom and cost savings that come with it, so having paid a small fortune for a phone, it's a bit rich for it to lock to the first SIM you insert, especially if you were unfortunate enough to insert an EE SIM (which can be unlocked but it's expensive). It's also why an unlocked iPhone can be worth around 20% more than an EE-locked one in resell.

I'm in a bit of strange situation - as I placed the order in the morning and probably before most others, they dispatched the order. However I can see in the dpd tracking status that it says "Return to Consignor has been requested" - which I assume means that after dispatching the order they realised it is a misprice and asked the courier to return the goods.
The dispatch confirmation says that they have "accepted" the order. They have also taken the payment. Does that give me any right to insist that BT cannot then cancel the order? Or is it just tough luck

Shopping online
Your legal rights depend on something fairly tricky in the law: whether or not you have a ‘contract’.
Depending on the company’s terms and conditions, you’ll have legal rights (and a contract) either:
once you’ve paid for the item
once they’ve sent it to you
You’ll need to find the company’s terms and conditions to find out where you stand. Contact the Citizens Advice consumer helpline if you need help. It may be too tricky to work out yourself.
If you have a contract, the company can’t usually cancel your order, even if they realise they’ve sold you something at the wrong price. They’ll only be able to cancel it if it was a genuine and honest mistake on their part that you should’ve noticed.
If you don’t have a contract and someone realises they’ve told you the wrong price, they can cancel your order.
sparkymark75
22 Sep 162#181
Once they take payment and dispatch your order, a contract has been formed. If they now claim back the phone, they are in breach of contract as far as I can tell.
The BT order email itself says; "We won't take any money from your chosen payment method until we're ready to despatch, at which point your order will be officially "accepted"."
So if you have indeed had a dispatch and they have taken the money, I would fight your corner as you have legal grounds for them fulfilling the order.
karlie88
22 Sep 16#182
Taken from BT Shop's own terms and conditions:
'No contract exists between you and us until we notify you that we have accepted your order and delivered the goods.'
Personally, I'd move on, but feel free to fight it out to the HUKDer who got a despatch email...
MrFizzy
23 Sep 16#183
I guess the key word there for those that have had them recalled whilst in transit is 'delivered'.
sparkymark75

Its a 6S 16GB ROSE GOLD - Unlocked. Boxed with all accesories. I only paid £180 for it because of that chip and a deep scratch on screen.
May just a scam!

Gotta be in it to win it!
Isn't this the same one?
"Thanks for visiting BT Shop - run by the very same people that run dabs.com"
Tempted on this deal but not sure on the pink.
What's all this apologist nonsense? Either stand by your deal as it actually being a deal or don't bother posting it, certainly don't apologise for posting the deal! Grr makes me want to be stupid and vote it cold because of that, I haven't and I won't.

I'm guessing they've just altered that as the silver one is £518
dont think BT will honour the deal
Probably the hottest Apple related deal on hukd ha
They sent me 128GB version instead
The dispatch confirmation says that they have "accepted" the order. They have also taken the payment. Does that give me any right to insist that BT cannot then cancel the order? Or is it just tough luck

Unlucky...
The BT order email itself says; "We won't take any money from your chosen payment method until we're ready to despatch, at which point your order will be officially "accepted"."
So if you have indeed had a dispatch and they have taken the money, I would fight your corner as you have legal grounds for them fulfilling the order.
Taken from BT Shop's own terms and conditions:
'No contract exists between you and us until we notify you that we have accepted your order and delivered the goods.'
See point 5: https://www.shop.bt.com/help/policies/terms-and-conditions/
Personally, I'd move on, but feel free to fight it out to the HUKDer who got a despatch email...
I'd advise others to just send an email with just your order number and a dispatch ETA request
I'm planning to complain - does anyone want to join ?
