Get more done with the long lasting battery

Get more done with the long lasting battery

You can use your Mediapad T1 10 for a whole day on a single charge, giving you one less thing to worry about on busy days. SmartPower 2.0, Huawei's power-saving technology, works with the 4800mAh battery to give you over 570 hours of standby time, 12 hours of video playback, and 6.5 hours of browsing.

Make the most of video calling with the front facing camera

Make the most of video calling with the front facing camera

Stay in touch with your friends and family. The front facing camera means you can see your favourite people whenever you want, through video calling. The MediaPad T1 10 has a 2 megapixel front camera for those video calls and selfies. It also has a 5 megapixel main camera, so you can take pictures when you're out and about.

Why doesn't this tablet come with a charger?

O2 is working to try and reduce waste. And as 70% of people already have a USB charger at home, we've decided to not include one with your tablet. If you do need a charger you can add one after choosing your tariff. O2 does not make money from selling the charger separately.

They don't make it easy to understand^

Poor grammar - 'If you've taken a sim only deal or a Bolt -On, with no phone or tablet, then you'll still need to tell us you want to cancel, but you don't have to return the sim. Instead you'll need to break it in half and throw it away. You can do that by contacting us on the phone or in store.' So I have to contact o2 to break a sim in two, is it a breach of terms to break it into more than two bits I wonder ? hhmmmm....

I got the Mediapad and am quite happy with the device, I paid the £60 device in full up front
Can anyone explain to me the 14 day cancel thing?
I was expecting the Refresh contract in the post but nothing came and so eventually I rang up (13 days after receiving it). They told me they could not cancel the £5 a month as it was 15 days from my actual order so I would have to pay the 24 months in full to cancel!

There is no 14 day thing in this?

1.9 When an O2 Refresh Device Plan is paid off (after 24 months or earlier if you choose to pay it off at any time before the end of the 24 month term) or by paying the full cash price upfront, you can either:
- Continue with your original Airtime Plan.
- Take a new O2 Refresh deal.
- Terminate your Airtime Plan. In these circumstances, your Airtime Plan will not be treated as having any remaining Minimum Period for the purposes of paragraph 8.3 of the Pay Monthly Mobile Agreement and you will be free to upgrade at a later date.

got lte tablet. paid it off first. then cancelled contract before 14 days. simple. great tablet. nice and fluid interface.

but what ever you do process an unlock application with o2 before you cancel the 24 month contract.
I was told I could do both at the same time.
im still fighting to get my unlock code. have been passed from o2 monthly to pay as you go for days now.

want to use it with my current ee contract or new three contract that i can use in Spain.

You cancel the contract. Pay off the device element (Think it was £24) and you don't pay the airtime as you are not contracted to that. That's why the contract is called refresh.
greazedlightning
16 Sep 16 #51
sorry if I am being stupid, I still don't understand how this works.
I choose to pay for the device and choose the £5 at the time of buying online. And then when the device arrives I call o2 and ask them to cancel the £5 pm contract and they do so. I get to keep the device. Do I have to pay anymore?

let me know if you suss it out! I was too scared they would refuse to cancel the £5 a month contract and charge me £60... and then some. burnt by bad past with BT and had to threaten them with OFCOM when they refused to cancel my broadband - which I only got with them to get BT vision, but then turns out my broadband wasn't fast enough for BT vision!

Crossbow to catchkiran
13 Sep 16 #47
It's hard to tell with refurb ones before you buy (as the previous owner may have done it already), but brand new ones are always locked to O2.

They will usually unlock it for free though (if you buy it via Refresh/contract), but if it's on PAYG & it comes locked, you have to use O2 for at least a year before they'll unlock it. If not, you may be a able to get a cheap unlock code off eBay.

Either way, first try a non-O2 sim in it to determine its lock status, then take the next step to either get it unlocked for free, or (if they don't agree) get it off eBay.

Brought one few months back and word of warning it states 4g but I have never had a 4g signal on it and only use it with WiFi and watching know as I speak in Port adventura Spain with kodi, it works well and screen is responsive and good enough for cheap price. Bonus was I got it free due to it never picking up a 4g signal and o2 messing about when I tried to cancel my refresh.

it's understandable that for every o2 refresh deal, there are people asking the exactly same question over and over again and but it's very strange that people work for o2 don't follow the straightforward refresh procedure. It does sound deliberate to me. Having said that, i had been done a few o2 refresh deals for the past year, and my accounts had been settled as it should be every time.

I always thought these O2 refresh deals sounded great... then I took one when I needed to buy a phone for kids birthday. Ordering was fine, easy and delivered fast - Then the trouble started when having to contact O2. Felt like pulling teeth when getting through their systems, speaking with O2 South African reps. Numerous promises that there would be no penalty or termination fee: Think you can guess by tone of this post that I received a bill after paying off device in full for over £350.
Seriously think is it worth it before going Refresh!

When you call out of standard hours, switchboard switch calls to overseas, outside of EU. Cancel is straight forward, just need to cancel your direct debit before O2 take cancellation fee out by direct debit. Even when they did they would refund as long as you cancelled before end of cooling off period.

Management instruction to do this, had to ask help desk to cancel their request for £333 yesterday even though everything was cancelled and I had email confirmation.
.
Based on my old past experience it could be to do with sales bonus booked and paid out depended on revenue. If revenue for sales was cancelled immediately, no sales bonus would be payable to salesmen and sales managers. On the other hand, even after cancellation, they sort of not really cancelled, so sales were booked as revenue, hence sales bonus payable.

got 10 inch huawei mediapad T1 from o2 fresh for 59 pounds... it's 4g version, it's brilliant pad for kid (rom's only 1gb, so you prob won't want to use it for gaming), took o2 more than 1 month to send the unlocking code though. I have now put freedompop sim into it, great pad and great price!

I saw this but for the price I went for the 8" to post.

Android can run on 512MB, 1GB is fine without loads of apps running in the background, gaming certainly will be challenging but hey a gaming tab for £35 lol, just LOL

This will be my upgrade to my 4G Alcatel Pop7S for commuting, which is alright but plastica fantastica, but @ £24 it was going to be, aluminium on the T1 for less than a tenner more

Similar to gp2 - I've got one of these and it's great. I'm having an absolute nightmare with O2 trying to provide the unlocking code though. It's been 1 month, 2 attempts and no further forward. Both codes they've sent so far have been wrong and they don't seem to have a clue.
