I've the nl54 and used a ssd for main drive, runs and uploads weather and also flight radar. Updated to Win 10 and runs a treat so this should be a good unit.
If camera lens hadn't bust I'd upgrade to this.

Probably not a lot different from the Gen8 Microserver - I'd guess in the range 30 to 35W excluding disks.

Avoid buying from ServersPlus. Their post sales support is abysmal IMHO. A sales rep of theirs bombarded me with abusive emails making accusations suggesting I was making a deluded attempt to get a refund (those were his very words) despite the fact that I was requesting replacement parts and furthermore it was him that offered a refund (that he subsequently rescinded on). Never received an apology. Would've thought Target Components who own Servers Plus would listen to a complaint of this nature and offer an apology but they seemingly did not want to know.

I'm struggling to decide between this and the microserver for a home NAS but I think I'm leaning towards a microserver.
Microserver has small size, dual nics and to a small degree price over this.
This has a newer CPU, one more SATA port and a whole lot of room for more sticks of DDR4, more PCIE cards etc. for not a lot more money.
I've got some ECC DDR3 kicking around for the microserver though so that sways me :P
