Can't see if this has HDR10? Deal breaker for me if it doesn't.

Specs

Has 4 HDMI with 2 HDMI2.0 - does this mean it will support HDR via HDMI?
Also is the lag terrible in 4kHDR mode - if that is even possible.

I have one and I'm very impressed. I just wish they would push out the promised firmware update giving HDR. I got mine just 7 months ago at Richer Sounds for £699, so £140 cheaper makes it a top bargain.

I just wish they'd gone passive 3D as opposed to active. It taken me all of 5 minutes to spot the crosstalk of every single active set I've seen.

The hdr issue is not with the tv. The hdr issue is with the xbox one s.

Any know which is better out off the hisense k700 and the new model 55m7000 or 65m5500

All I need to know is if lag is terrible when gaming in 4K with HDR on.


Digging through AV forums again and it sounds like it's HDR on or Gaming mode on: see here.

Looking around at lag times and they are described as very poor with gaming mode reducing it by ~80% so if you can't have both I don't think the set is what I'm after.

my lad loves the 3D element but I don't want to add more expense buying active glasses.

Only 4k that does passive are LG nowadays and they charge a fair bit more for it too.
i.e. the LG UH850v 49" is ~£750 but the 60 is ~£1300 (it's also a better set as it has dolby vision and better speakers) but you won't get one for under 600 anytime soon.

The glasses for this are about £30 each after looking them up earlier today.

The smart bit is really good since the latest fimware, one button netflix / youtube 4k, and glorious built in amazon prime video roll on 4k GRAND TOUR!
Also its not really Silver its much more black than silver, the silver is the outer frame which is not visible from when you look at it from the front

Couldn't give a monkeys about 4k, mainly for goons who sit in front of games all day. But good price for a massive telly.

I think this will be the year for 4k television deals, with the Xbox one s as a cheap 4k bluray player, it's just my opinion but I'll expect some lower prices as the customer base rises and I'll be getting a 4k 50 inch+ by the end of the year, preferably before I have to pay whatever stupid price they ask for the Xbox one scorpion lol

This is last years TV and some of the reviews say , HDR or 10 bit panel ? , SD to HD upscale good ?
1) I wouldnt say it was that smart you can't browse the net you can't browse face book,
2) The only drawback is that the apps are aimed at worldwide use so no BBC iplayer, ITV player or 5 on demand.
3) The on screen menus are slow and sluggish and often don't do what you command them to do with the buttons. Often when you press the button on the remote just once, the TV will register multiple button presses - often incorrectly cancelling a menu. I also found issues with the aspect ratio being incorrect when using the Smart features. The menus on-screen also have a life of their own and often vanish for no reason after random times. This TV claims to be Quad Core and I was therefore fully expecting it to be super fast - I was however amazed at how slow and sluggish in reality this TV is. Everything from switching the TV on (which takes forever), to changing channels, trying to use the EPG, to changing basic settings is painfully slow. It's clear that anything less than Quad Core and this TV wouldn't even be able to operate at all. Shockingly, unlike all previous flatscreen TVs I've owned, there is no backlight control button whatsoever on the remote control and there is not even a light sensor on the TV so the TV has no way of automatically adjusting the backlight. This is totally insane as it means that you end up constantly burning your eyeballs in low light levels and constantly have to adjust the backlight manually using menus and submenus. There is no fast way of doing this and no thought seems to have gone into this at all given that this is such an important feature you will constantly need to adjust. The auto-update feature doesn't work out of the box (despite the TV having perfect internet connection) and you have no choice but to buy a seperate USB stick (Hisense refused to send me one) - you have to download the initial update using your PC and manually install it yourself. This again is very poor and the update file is huge. Many people are not technically minded at all and would struggle to do things like this so it's not really acceptable for Hisense to expect their customers to do this. The speakers are pretty good - they are not bad at all for a flat screen TV but still not close to being any kind of match for a basic AV speaker system. The TV has a night sound mode which is meant for viewing quietly at night, however when you switch it on, the volume becomes extremely loud which is very annoying. There are many irritating things about this TV to be honest. I had no option but to connect the TV via the built-in Satellite tuner and found the EPG doesn't work if using Satellite. It was a also a nightmare trying to configure the satellite settings on the TV - it was certainly not plug and play. Despite having a proper satellite connector and satellite tuner built-in it shockingly doesn't support Freesat and due to licensing issues cannot show the EPG guide information. You can view the channels but won't actually know what's on TV and also won't be able to record programmes due to total lack of EPG info. This is not a small issue and made the TV unusable for me. I found that there are serious problems with the Audio and Video regularly going out of sync for no reason and the only way to make it work again is to change channel and change back again. The TV supports PVR record and timeshift using an external USB hard drive, however, I found in reality this was poor and constantly gave me audio/video sync problems on playback. There were also sound issues (random crackling / noises) and various problems (including artifacts randomly appearing) when using this PVR feature. Regarding 4K - When it works it looks absolutely stunning, however, I found the picture was often noticeably jerky which was very poor - slow moving 4K video looked stunning however. This TV lists local dimming as one of it's main features. In reality, this again was shockingly poor. The local dimming on this TV is edge lit from the bottom of the TV - the screen basically lights up a large column of the screen from the bottom, all the way up if there is anything bright on any part of that section of screen. In reality, this is as bad as it sounds. It is very noticeable and distracting when viewing dark scenes (like a flashlight is shining from the base of the screen) and there is also a long delay before the light column disappears each time - when you are viewing a picture with a dark background this becomes astonishingly noticeable and something most people will not be able to tolerate. I imagine many people will end up switching the local dimming off completely due to this - unfortunately, if you do this however, you find the dark blacks in the other parts of the screen become lighter and look more like grey. The ARC on this TV is very erratic and seems to have a life of it's own. Many times even if I switch off the ARC and tell the TV not to switch my AV Receiver on, the next time I go to use the TV, it will decide on its own to switch on my AV Receiver regardless and often will alter the ARC setting itself to On even though I set it to Off. Although the TV now supports BBC iplayer, it does not have basic things like online support for ITV, 4OD or Channel 5. The Smart feature is very lacking for the UK market and most of the Apps you can install on it are not even in english or for the UK market. I have also found many apps don't work properly even when installed. The 3D on this TV is ok (after installing the latest update) and seems to work alright. The 3D glasses that come with this TV however feel pretty cheap and flimsy and it seems outrageous that only one pair of glasses is supplied with any 58" TV. When watching the TV, I've noticed loud creaking and cracking noises coming from the TV frame as it heats up during use - this is probably nothing to worry about, however, it is very loud and noticeable and happens constantly. None of my old TVs did this. Overall, I was not very happy with this TV.

There will be plenty of demand for 4K televisions when the next gen consoles are released in the next 12 months. Prices will be stable but with plenty of competition in the market that will entice you for your bucks. The model of this TV will be slashed by 35/40% this time next year as technology improves and competition fierce.

reading reviews is bad idea as firmware has vastly imrpoved things
I took a gamble last year and the major drawbacks were as You mentioned flaky HDCP, menu, and not so smart tv, this has been improved as well as game mode providing really decent input lag, Im sure you can find in release notes how much input lag there is, I can comfortably use it as my home streaming device
about smart TV functionality lets be real guys
all smart tv is **** compared to have a win 10 pc stick plugged in with wireless keyboard which you can buy for £60-£80 which will beat hands down any other smart tv apps
HDR is available only when device supports it I think currently only playing it from usb stick file or xbox one s
I dont know if its 8 or 10 bit panel what I do know is that youtube or amazon prime in 4k look glorious the adaptive contrast is not great on SD channels but works pretty well 1080p up
obviously turned off any other enhancements
Back in December for 599 from richer sounds with 6 years warranty it was a bloody good deal not sure how it compares now to other brands but I would not swap it for your samsung or lg tv OLED on the other hand, YES PLEASE
