Original Post by NeoTrix had expired, but code 4K10 now active again.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/hisense-h43m3000-43-296-10-hisense-h49m300-341-10-4k-wifi-hdr-op-fv-hd-free-next-2509132?p=28743849

All Credit to NeoTrix, I'm just helping share what I think is a good deal.

Hisense H49M3000 49" Smart 4K Ultra HD TV - Black - Here - £341.10

Hisense H43M3000 43" Smart 4K Ultra HD TV - Black Here - £296.10 (I think the cheapest it's ever been now)

Brill specs on these two models. Very similar all round apart from the obvious screen size differences there is just the slight difference in speaker output. The 49" has 16 Watt speakers whereas the 43" carries 14 Watt speakers. I'm guessing most folks here won't be overly fussed about that and many will probably use their own speaker set up.

Hisense are really churning out some decent sets lately, it's pretty hard to turn them down after looking at reviews as well. I used to have one back in 2008ish and at that point you very rarely saw them around. It lasted for ages, we only upgraded because we wanted a bigger screen. Comes with 2 Year Manufacturers warranty to boot, again... another plus point for sure.

HDR Info

HDR is Via USB only right now, but apparently these are due for a firmware update that should enable HDR further anyway.

Base specs

Resolution Type - 4K Ultra HD

Tuner Type - Freeview HD

Headphone Socket - Yes x1

HDR - USB only - Supposed to be supported via HDMI very soon through Firmware updates.

Scart - x 1

HDMI x 4

USB 3.0 - Yes

Video Formats - .AVI, .WMV, .MP4, .MOV, .3GP, .MKV, .MPG, .MPEG, .VOB, .RM, .FLV, .WebM, .VRO, .OGM

Amazon Instant Video - Coming soon

Netflix support - Yes

Web Browsing - Yes

Youtube - Yes

I got the 49" version while it's great value the panel isn't that great. It has a lot of grain especially in dark scenes and older movies. This isn't true for our other 4K TV. Maybe it's the upscaling but even with native 4k content it's quite grainy.
Vicar_in_a_Tutu to DonLeo17

Grain, as in more detail? If so, that would be a good thing.
Noise reduction gets overly used these days.

What do you mean...? It has YouTube and Netflix 4K support natively I believe, and can accept 4K input HDCP2.2 compliant on all 4 HDMI sockets...?

Maybe you are referring to the mythical HDR firmware updates...?

Using Overwatch on the training range and aiming feels super floaty at 4k so there must be a fair bit of latency at that res. Feels as good as my monitor at 1080p though.
EpicRickyC to sweeten16
13 Sep 16 #24
I get exactly the same with overwatch. At 4k the input lag is quite apparent with that and a lot of games while some I don't really notice. However at 1080p It feels great.

Not more detail, the grain effect is not visible on my newer hisense TV which is also 4K. I watched a black and white film on this 49" one and the quality was horrible, the grain was very very noticable. I have noise reduction turned off and even when it's on its rubbish. I'm just informing others of my experience with the TV and I kinda wish I had spent the extra for a better one. But this is still tremendous value

The firmware for HDR over HDMI is now out on the French site for the m3300 model. It works fine on my 43" set. You place the update on a usb stick, fat32 and turn the tv on whilst holding the power button until software update appears. Takes about five minutes to do its thing and works ok with the new Xbox. It's killing my dp to hdmi 2 adapter, 60Hz perhaps because of the lack of bandwidth now 4:4:4 chroma is working.

Had the 43" version delivered today. Having a bit of a mare with it. It's connected to my PC which I've used with all my previous TVs without issue. The PC is running the Windows version of Kodi. The issue is that when I play back anything that's 720p it's random as to whether it works perfectly or the screen flickers. I can play a video without issue, stop it, play it again and the second time it flickers like mad or just shows a black screen. If I play something 1080p it's fine. If I then go back to the 720p it usually works again, but only the first time. I've tried the HDMI lead in all the ports, but it makes no difference.

17 Sep 16 #45
Also causing me issues is the Harmony remote. Unfortunately the TV seems to re-order the input list based on most recently used first. This means my activities on the remote aren't working properly as the remote has no idea what order the input list is in and consequently keeps choosing the wrong input.

Well it looks like the 49" LG I purchased the other day is not HDR compatible, meaning I can't make the most out of my Xbox One S. So the question is, will this (after the HDR update) allow me to use the XB1S for HDR gaming? Also, does anyone know if this is HDCP 2.2?

EDIT: Is this a 10-bit panel or 8?

18 Sep 16 #49
Bought this panel, been using it a few days. I absolutely love it. My only problems with it are 1. The stand is two little legs instead of one down the middle, which means I need to buy a new stand as my current one is too small. 2. It doesn't seem to read my USB 3.0 stick. It reads my 2.0 stick fine. Besides that, for the money it's absolutely incredible.

Just spoke to Hisense Tech Support this afternoon and they are rolling out the UK Firmware for HDR10 over HDMI between now and the end of the 1st week of Oct. It's being done in batches, so you may get it anytime in this window.

I downloaded the new firmware update (version G0825) from the Hisense French website and then I placed the new firmware update (version G0825) on an empty FAT32 USB drive, and then I tried to update my UK Hisense H43M3000 TV from version G0422 to the new firmware version G0825, but my TV will not update to the new firmware version. All I get is a message on the screen that tells me the TV is updating, and then after 15 seconds the TV will reboot. When I check the TV's firmware version it still shows the old firmware version G0422.

If anyone here has managed to install the latest French firmware version G0825 on a UK H43M3000 TV, what method did you use?

I can view BBC HD, ITV HD, and many other freeview HD channels on my Samsung TV (which has a freeview HD tuner built-in), but my Hisense H43M3000 TV does not pick up or show any Freeview HD channels in the channel list, even though I have done a full scan for DTV (Digital TV) channels.

Hi, ordered the 43M3000 from AO and it arrived yesterday but not sure at this stage whether it was a return that has been resold and don't want to open yet? The top tape seal is broken at each end but it looks like it was taped back over across the top only, and there are 2 straps around the box, is this normal for other AO deliveries of this screen? If anyone can share it would be appreciated as I want to confirm before contacting AO or opening it properly.

Ok been messing around all day with the TV and Xbox one s. As it stands without the update you can upscale games to 4K. You can watch 4K videos on YouTube Xbox app. These look better than the ones I get straight off the tv app. Has anyone had similar experience?

However it's not upscaling blu Rays. They play in 1080p. I think the update may fix this but not sure. There is no new firmware available in the update section on the tv

Yeah my connection is over 40 mb and I don't think it was producing 4K on you tube. On the info the resolution said 2000 something. I mean even if it's not 4K all the time it shouldn't be dropping resolution so it looks worse than my 46" blaupunkt 1080p. This is a 43" 4K.

Yes... at 60hz only getting YBCP
YCbCr420 is all i get on HDMI 3 and 4 an option in the nvidia control panel (under the resolution tab, scroll down).
YCbCr444 is available on HDMI 1 & 2 but only at 30hz. Bit too slow for gaming and really missing the 444 at 60hz... can anyone confirm they see YCbCr444 when at 60hz on 3 and 4 with an Nvidia card?

I have tried an array of cables and a shorter variety reduced 99.9% of noise I was getting at 60hz.

4K upscaling is automatic but it's a bit of a gimmick. It's impossible to make non-4K content look like true 4K, so don't expect miracles, all it does is change the resolution to 4K but the picture quality stays pretty much the same, you would only notice a difference if you are sitting so close to your TV that you can see the individual pixels :stuck_out_tongue:

wont allow recording with out a USB as the TV has no inbuilt hard drive/ storage to this effect , i dont know of any TV that does but ofcourse there maybe ones that have this feature ( this is usually the function of set top boxes with storage) out there

Any chance the price goes down to around £320 again? Currently with the code it's £314 but previously the deal was £320ish on the site and then £296 with the code

TV upgraded and only tested YouTube in 4k.
Some videos start showing 4k next to the title, but when loaded revert back to HD.
Whats the best way to check the resolution being used ?

This looked quite sharp: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdwbYGe8pv8

Hi..
How do you toggle the info in the youtube app ?

Also last night I pressed a key and got a small window with gave me the options to open media, video, images etc.
I've not seen this small window before and I can't get t back again. Any ideas ?

Before you select a video go to settings. Move across to the right until you see show video info. Tick that box and then load a video. That is also accessible from some videos via the more options tab.

just wondered if anyone has had the 49" M3000 firmware update yet?
chrischarles
4 Oct 16 #120
Not yet, but having asked Hisense, they are currently rolling out the firmware based on serial number, and they expect to complete the process by approximately the end of next week. So hold fast a little bit longer and it should appear, or so it would seem....

I tried to update my Hisense H43M3000 TV with the Hisense H49M3000 TV update file, but my TV will not update. Yes, my TV is connected to Wi-Fi and I have the option "Auto Firmware Upgrade" turned on. I also did a manual check for the update using both the "Check Firmware Upgrade" and "Check OAD Upgrade" options in the TV's System Update menu, which is giving me the following message: No new update package was detected.

Has anyone got a link to the latest update file that is specifically for the Hisense H43M3000 TV?

I am afraid there is no specefic update file for the 43" model both the m3000 range models have the same update , check your hukd inbox for the instructions i got which i inboxed you i have re applied it via that method it worked for me

I finally got my Hisense H43M3000 TV to update. For some odd reason my TV will not update from my FAT32 Sandisk 3.0 USB stick. I had a dig around my house and found my old Kingston USB 2.0 stick and copied the update file to it. My Hisense H43M3000 TV then updated to the latest firmware G0920.

PS: I received your private message in my hukd inbox. Thanks for taking the time to send me the instructions you had on how to update the TV.

HI , Guys i have got an email later in the week after the same link as RazorRazz was sent to me saying the G0920 software is still in testing phase(for the 43 model only- as i have the 43")very odd as i they themselves told me M3000 series has exactly the same hardware i completely overlooked it thinking might have had the same email sent twice, but no email sent on thursday say the "official" software for H43M3000 is still the G0825 i have been instructed install G0825 as this is stable  dont know what to think!! i now have the G0825 running just thought ill let the others know , ill call them on Monday when i get a chance

Ive put firmware G0920 on both my 43" and 49" Hope thats ok LOL
alan2simms
8 Oct 16 #140
tbh both the interfaces look exactly the same , dont know how it works underneath though may be it didnt pass the official testing period, i dont know really they seem to contradict themselves there a bit saying its exactly the same hardware but not official for the 43"( they didn't exactly say that but only have the 43" so it would seem so) i would only expect the 49" to have a slightly bigger power draw so may be a bigger PSU? dont know unfortunatly have to wait till i call them on monday

Hey guys, need some help here. I've got a Hisense H49M3000 model and when I connect to Xbox One S with the supplied HDMI, it only connects it as full hd 1080p? I went to the settings-> Display & sound -> Video Output and when I try to select 4k UHD on my xbox settings, it tells me my TV doesn't support 4k, I have no idea why?
I've now updated to the latest G920 software, but nothing has changed. Any ideas?

Are you connecting your xbox to the HDMI ports at the back of the TV (ports 3 or 4), or the ones to the side (ports 1 and 2)?. Only 3 & 4 support 60hz.
bandit17
8 Oct 16 1 #145
All 4 of mine say 4k @ 60hz, I will try the ones at the back and let you know.

EDIT: I was wrong, I thought it was 60hz on all 4, but the side ones were only 30hz, thank you for the help! Now I just need to buy an angled HDMI cable as I want my TV to be closer to the wall lol

Does the update speed up the interface for you? I have the 43" model but still not had the OAD update appear so maybe will try the manual process.

(Side note, strangely my TV turned itself on while I was out (blue led) this evening but would not respond and I had to pull the plug. Seems fine now, but has anybody else seen something similar?)
1Ton1981
26 Oct 16 #150
You need to update your TV's firmware to the latest version and then you will be able to watch 4K YouTube videos in 4K resolution.

My 43 inch Hisense TV would not update to the latest firmware (G0920) if I used a USB 3.0 stick. My Hisense TV only updated to the latest firmware (G0920) when I used a USB 2.0 stick.

As for the grainy image, it could be the source material you are watching. Have you found other HD or UHD content you have watched to also be grainy? Are you using the TV with the default manufactures settings? I found the default manufacturer's settings average at best. I spent a few days fine tuning the picture quality on my Hisense 43 inch TV and now the picture quality looks fantastic. I will post the picture settings I use on my Hisense TV later on this evening in this thread.

As for the 60hz HDMI ports, they are labelled as 60hz on the back of the TV. Once you upgrade your Hisense TV to the latest version (G0920), the 60hz HDMI ports will show up on your TV screen in the "Inputs" section as HDMI3_UHD and HDMI4_UHD.

Also, download the 4K LG HDR demo video titled "LG Colors of Journey - HDR" from the following website: demo-uhd3d.com. You will get a much better indication of the kind of picture quality your Hisense TV is capable of.

The website displayspecifications.com says the Hisense 49M3000 has a native bit depth of 8-bits - which you can see here: http://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/e0db5fc

And the same website says the 43M3000 has a native bit depth of 8-bits - which you can see here: http://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/5e5b5fd

Ok, I sent Hisense UK the following e-mail about the panel bit depth on the 43M3000 TV model:

Hi Hisense,

I have a Hisense 43M3000 TV and I would like to know what is the native panel bit depth on the 43M3000? Some people are saying the 43M3000 has a native panel bit depth of 8-bits, and other people are saying that the 43M3000 has a native panel bit depth of 10-bits. Please could you clarify which of these two bit depths the 43M3000 TV supports natively.

This is the reply I received back from Hisense UK:

Thanks for the email and enquiry. I can confirm that this model supports a 10 bit panel.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Hisense UK

Here are the picture settings I use on my Hisense H43M3000 TV:

Standard Picture Mode Settings

Apply Picture Mode = All Sources

Brightness = 48

Contrast = 55

Colour Saturation = 55

Aspect Ratio = 16:9

Backlight = Dynamic Backlight Control: Off and Backlight: 43

Advanced Picture Settings = Tint: 0 Sharpness: 0 Adaptive Contrast: Middle Colour Temperature: Standard Overscan: Off Noise Reduction: Off Colour Tuner: Colour Red settings = Hue: 0 Saturation: 3 Brightness: 0 Colour Green settings = Hue: 0 Saturation: 1 Brightness: 0 Colour Blue settings = Hue: 0 Saturation: 1 Brightness: 0 Colour Yellow settings = Hue: 0 Saturation: 0 Brightness: 0

HDR Picture Mode Settings (must be viewing HDR content on the TV to adjust HDR picture settings)

Apply Picture Mode = Current Source

Brightness = 45

Contrast = 42

Colour Saturation = 42

Aspect Ratio = Automatic

Backlight = Dynamic Backlight Control: Off and Backlight: 97

Advanced Picture Settings = Tint: 0 Sharpness: 2 Adaptive Contrast: Middle Colour Temperature: Standard Overscan: Off Noise Reduction: Off Colour Tuner: Colour Red settings = Hue: 0 Saturation: 0 Brightness: 0 Colour Green settings = Hue: 0 Saturation: 0 Brightness: 0 Colour Blue settings = Hue: 0 Saturation: 0 Brightness: 0 Colour Yellow settings = Hue: 0 Saturation: 0 Brightness: 0

To really see the kind of picture quality these settings deliver, download the 4K LG HDR demo video titled "LG Colors of Journey - HDR" from the following link: http://demo-uhd3d.com/fiche.php?cat=uhd&id=150.

Also download Samsung's SUHD Sensational Picture demo from the following link: http://demo-uhd3d.com/fiche.php?cat=uhd&id=92.

And lastly, I think this 4K video demo titled "LG Demo Garden" (which you can download from the following link: http://demo-uhd3d.com/fiche.php?cat=uhd&id=12), is good for testing the accuracy of colours the above picture settings I posted reproduce. red colours are red, black colours are black, green colours are green, and white colours are white as they should be.

Has anybody had a firmware update on this TV which has totally broken the TV tuner? Mine told me there was an update yesterday (G1207) so I decided to install it. Sadly now half of my channels have disappeared (DTV Freeview) and after doing a full re-tune they are all in the wrong order. I could probably manually sort them, but it will take a while as the interface is now so slow (due to the new EPG).

Is anybody else in the same boat?
thefunkfosho
15 Jan 17 #155
Not had this problem as I don't use the tv tuner however after the update my hdmi wasn't recognising a HDR input anymore. You have to go into settings and change the input type on hdmi to advanced or something. Can't quite remember the name but it fixed it
