Just to clarify, there was no mention of the code on chrisshein's thread last night or even earlier today - sorry if I've put his nose out of joint but cheap prices are what HUKD is all about. He seems to have edited his post to show the code now - but I haven't "stolen" his deal. I found the code through reading S912 articles and blogs.
For some reason his thread says £54.71 (?) and not £54.87.

You can do everything an Android device can (though you're doing it through a TV). Then there's the Kodi element for media. These S912 devices have better graphic capabilities so would be better for games (though I'm not sure if it would be better rooted, re using a wireless gamepad?).
Also, just to say the illuminated touchpad/keyboard I bought yesterday is back in stock, the Amazon/Tizzy Bac one. It's now £7.99! Using it with my Beelink Mini MXIII.
Edit: Something interesting I've just noticed about these touchpad/keyboards - when you have a stream playing the "space bar" pauses/plays the stream. I remember someone bemoaned the lack of a pause/play function. As well as the pause/play button, fast forward/rewind, Vol + and - on the left circular buttons.

I always uninstall the pre-loaded Kodi anyway and put a fresh one on from the Play Store. Can't comment on the support these boxes get, but Beelink apparently has regular firmware updates (though my Mini MXIII hasn't had one in my three months of ownership! :stuck_out_tongue:).
Freaktab is a good site, then there's the usual suspects such as XDA etc. This Presale price runs out today for anyone on the fence
I was tempted to spring for an S912 but I'd want a rooted box - read somewhere if you want to use an wireless gamepad it's better off rooted - still don't know what gamepad to get, if anyone can recommend one!. The S912 boxes seem to be similar under the hood and haven't seen any mention of a rooted box yet.

support for any chinese android box (including phones) is non-existant, they all run the same 3.14 kernel blob from 5 years ago that nobody can update as they never release source, they all have dodgy unoptimised versions of kodi 16.1 with all the illegal plugins that kodi won't support. its basically buy the latest model you can as it'll be useless in a year.

No idea if legal or not, but HMRC would be the last people to ask if you wanted an actual answer to this. He/she wouldn't have a clue about whether the company has a right to charge this....only the fact that they can bill for the service and that the income would be taxable as a valid service as incurred regardless of whether the actual activity was legal or not.

I've been using the Acemax M12N for a couple of weeks now and talking to a few other people that have similar boxes, some manufacturers and using the same hardware in their own case with the same firmware apart from launchers and basic customisation.
None of the S912 firmwares come with a working navigation/notification bar and a few other omissions, so I made a modded firmware that at least resolves a few issues.
Auto adjust display rate is not working, whether in firmware of Kodi/SPMC in all firmwares.
It looks as if the SDK needs some improvement before things can really move forward but the S912 has possibilities, especially with the updated GPU.
Where the S912 really shines at the moment is in regards to it's video colour quality, which has great depth and has only been matched by my Rk3288.
When using Kodi, leave the amcodec switched off and with SPMC, switch it off as it has no use with these latest SOC's and will prevent video from showing with some formats. SPMC yields slightly smoother results than Kodi 16.
There is a lot of talk at the moment about the actual speed of the CPU, which has been advertised as 2.0Ghz but may, from tests that some have run, to only between 1.5 and 1.7Ghz with a sort of quick burst mode that can reach 2.0Ghz for brief periods, although as far as I am aware, confirmation from AMLogic is still forthcoming.
Mine came though DHL and I ended up paying a whopping £21. £9 duties and £11 DHL handling payment, which was very unusual as the last box I bought only added £3.50, which I didn't mind paying.
Surface shipping is the delivery method least likely to become subject to duties.

AndyRoyd to powerbrick
3 Sep 162#7
General concensus for Gearbest items ex-China is that unless you request big-name courier delivery such as DHL or UPS, the other shipping methods (including "British Express") do not tend to be pulled by customs. There was/is even a HUKD user who guaranteed that an item shipped via a non-name-courier would not attract customs interest! My own experiences of many orders with Gearbest tends to support this theory.
If customs charges are applied, the cost would be VAT (about £11) + shipper's admin fee (about £10), so around an additional £21 assuming customs accurately assess the value of goods+shipping.

Can't vouch for this but a Youtube user asks if the H96 Pro and R-Box Pro are the same - "It's the same box with different custom branding, and there will be others on this same box". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQS0yKS7Y7w (Youtube videos with computerised voiceovers annoy me :stuck_out_tongue:)!
One comment from diegor says: "The trick here is that Amlogic kernel reports 2.02 GHz, even through it’s apparently not running at that speed. That’s why it took so long to discover the issue, as people needed to run benchmarks at various frequencies to find out."

your contract is with Gearbest not DHL...if you have paid it then it is to late, but next time refuse and email them citing there is no contract with you and them and you suggest they go to Gearbest for their handling fee
works 100% of the time, apart from parcel force who kidnap your goods until you pay
If customs charges are applied, the cost would be VAT (about £11) + shipper's admin fee (about £10), so around an additional £21 assuming customs accurately assess the value of goods+shipping.

I quoted this the other day
This article about Amlogic S905, S905X and S912 processor speeds is interesting http://www.cnx-software.com/2016/08/28/amlogic-s905-and-s912-processors-appear-to-be-limited-to-1-5-ghz-not-2-ghz-as-advertised/
One comment from diegor says: "The trick here is that Amlogic kernel reports 2.02 GHz, even through it’s apparently not running at that speed. That’s why it took so long to discover the issue, as people needed to run benchmarks at various frequencies to find out."
