I don't expect much for a pound but I thought what the hell add a few toppings at 75p each and it's still a cheap meal... however there was no toppings list specified and I was told bacon and cheese where all I could have so thats what I did.... so when it turned up without lettuce or tomato I shouldn't have been shocked! I guess it's a reminder of you get what you pay for! personaly I wouldn't recommend it...pay more and get yourself a half decent burger somewhere else!

How much is the average drink in this Hotel chain? I should imagine they are £5 for a pint of lager or cider so total cost for a cheese burger and chips with a pint would be £7.75. Not bad for a hotel but not worth a special trip IMO. Please correct me if the cost of a drink is more in line with pub prices. If they were £3.50 the meal would be £6.25 including a pint so quite a good deal. Not voting either way.

I must admit their burgers were lovely last time I was at one of these hotels - one isn't too far away from me, so I will certainly try this one time. Do we know when the offer finishes? And if it's only certain venues? Thanks anyway OP

No, you don't. I've never had it but often been in there having a drink with a table booked elsewhere later, still been tempted to have a burger for a quid.
Village Hotel do not stun their burgers before cooking them.
I am offended.
Cold.

Yes, the difference between good value can be £1.50. If it was a £500 object then not so much but a £6 meal then £1.50 is 25%

It depends on the Village Hotel. I've had one at Chester St Davids and Watford and they were totally different.
I have to agree with the previous poster about veggie burgers. Seems silly to exclude a big demographic like that from the offer given how cheap veggie burgers are.

Like Village Hotels but the burger you get is completely different to the picture so I think gives the wrong impression of how good a deal it is. I wouldn't pay any more than the promo price.

I stayed at Village Cheadle last week and a 400ml glass of coke was £3.65!
If you take into account the ice in the glass, I suspect there was about 100ml of post-mix coke which probably only cost 1p.
I also had a "superfood salad" for £11 which was very small and awful value for money.

Their 'proper' £10 burgers are good, but for the £1 Burger Me Friday deal they use a patty akin to that of a McDonalds burger (only minus the gherkin). Not great - but okay for a snack before watching the footie on their 97" screens. Red Card deal usually pints for £3.95 but you'll need to sign up to mailing list and show email at the bar. Only one email nesessary so just forward on to mates if doing rounds.

times must be hard for you to worry about £1.50, still we can't all be successful I suppose
Dj.CUE
20 May 171#64
I was making a point that £1.50 is 25% of the deal value. If it was a £10000 deal £2500 difference is 25%. Good value is not about how much money you spend but how much you can save. Mike Ashley is a Millionaire but doesn't even pay his staff minimum wage. A £1.50 per hour pay rise would be massive for his staff, even £1.50 per day pay rise would take their wages above minimum wage.
benlondon
21 May 17#65
Yes, but my point is for most people £1.50 is neither here nor there, so keep using those big examples which are irrelevant other than they use the same %, like I said I feel sorry for you if things are so tight, but such is life
rohitmkiller
10 Jun 17#68
What about it?
Dj.CUE
10 Jun 17#69
Apologies for the late reply I have been away on holiday. I am not going to continue to try to educate you in how a percentage increase is the same irrelevant of price but I don't need your pity, personally I am financially sound and have a comfortable life. I do however feel sorry for you that you think of yourself as successful but resort to trying to put me down because you don't agree with my opinion. I suggest that you work harder on being more successful in accepting that not everybody has the same opinion on everything but can still get along.
