[quote=coursemyhorse]I take it back, I tried at a different Sainsburys earlier as was passing right by. I managed to get a full £46.99 refund on No Man's Sky.
I handed it over with receipt and said nothing - other than that I obviously wanted a refund on an unwanted game. I did the same! Mine was refunded too!

I never received my ps4, they still charged me too but just noticed they have sent me an email saying no man's sky is being refunded for 40-something pounds and another email saying I was being refunded but no items or money listed. When I checked my account they had refunded me £110 more than what they had charged me for the whole lot

I think it depends how much of a rush they are in and how much they care. This guy immediately crossed it off the receipt and then went to run it through but then stopped and checked the receipt. He then got his colleague over who sighed and then said "yeah, you are gonna have to sort that out", followed by, "wow, that's a very good deal". A bit of head scratching later they asked me "was this game on a console deal". I told them that I thought the other 2 were but that No Mans Sky was bought separately. The senior customer service guy then just said, "ah just run it through mate" and he swiftly asked for my card and processed it.

Dare I say, you could probably take the other games back in this way too if you got lucky. I can't be bothered. It's already a great deal.

£223.01 (Original basket total after glitch for PS4 + Uncharted 4, No Man's Sky, Deus Ex)
-£20 (new customer voucher code for £100+ shop)
-£46.99 (No Mans Sky Refund)
= £156.02

I just went in to the nearest Sainsbury to me (which don't even stock games) & asked if they could process a refund as the game was a duplicate - the guy looked at the receipt & just scanned the game through the till & put the refund on my card. I almost sold No Man's Sky on Gumtree for £20 so obviously glad I tried to get the refund. I wasn't sure it would work as someone else on here posted that they'd tried to get the refund unsuccessfully but it seemed pretty straightforward & took about 2 minutes.

Alittle gutted as I wasn't offered any compensation in the form of a voucher. I placed the order for home delviery - on the day didn't get as much as a text or email to tell me the order was cancelled - just a no show! They haven't taken any money out my account so not too frustrating, but for the inconvenience of not letting me know the order was cancelled, a little something would have been nice :disappointed:

It does seem that anyone who bought this purely to sell on and make profit is really going struggle after fees etc, just noticed that John Lewis are selling a PS4 with No mans & Uncharted 4 for £249 delivered and that comes with 2 year warranty, some muppets on Ebay selling the same bundle (I guess they have taken out NMS to ell elsewhere/trade) for over £270 plus P&P with no warranty..............

Massive thanks to OP. Ordered it Sunday night for click and collect the following morning. Collected entire bundle at 10am. Receipt showed it had been picked at 6.30am so well ahead of any internal comma I'm sure.

Returned No Mans Sky to a different store today for a full refund of £46.99. So total cost to me is £156.02 for the PS4, Uncharted 4 and Deus Ex. Planning on selling both these games, so hopefully make back another £40-50.

Nice one, similar sort of deal. £203.01 paid in store, games listed on receipt itemised at full rrp and bundle reductions made squarely against the console. Had the games refunded at £134.97 + the extra £20 refunded against the discount voucher I'm left with a brand new ps4 for £48.04. I echo you 'Luvvly jubbly.' Oh and 'he who dares!'

I asked for a £50 voucher plus £20 for the voucher I used on the order. They sent me a £70 gift card to use in store but I also went into store and got a refund on the difference (I was charged £347) so managed to get the deal for £133.01. In the words of Derek Trotter "Luvvly Jubbly"

15 Sep 16 #1234
Yes I thought the same. I completed the payment in store and had the original amount taken (for just 3 games) refunded including the £20 discount code. Although reading other comments people have received variable amounts. Sainsbury's must have lost a good bit over this error - that'll be karma for taking the taste the difference range out of the meal deal!

My order was also due for Tuesday afternoon, along with groceries,I got no text, nor email cancellation, just a no show from the the driver. They then proceeded to debit the payment for the PS4 at the full price on Tuesday night. The cancellation email for Tuesday's delivery was only received this morning, followed shortly by a notification email that a refund will be on the way to my account in 3-5 working days. I have been compensated though so I can't do any more complaining

Use these codes all the time. My wife got £60 off Apple Watch a couple of months ago even though Apple products are listed in T&C's as exclusions, so should work I think.
grabbit
15 Sep 16 #1225
Have you checked the t&c's for that offer though? As usually one of their conditions is that the voucher is not valid to be used against sale items and their PS4 is reduced,so you'd be best to check first as they may accept the code at checkout time but then later declare it invalid as it was a sale item

Having read a few on here I thought I'd better check what I'd been charged and it is the correct figure.

Ordered Sunday night for a 10am collection on Monday.

Collected from the man in a van with all games and PS4 and receipt reading £203 so happy days.

Didn't want any of the games so sold:

Deus Ex to Cex for £31
Deus Ex Day 1 Edition DLC for £4 on Ebay
NMS £22 on eBay
Uncharted 4 on eBay for £21

Idea was to keep the console for a fresh warranty and sell my old PS4 but my fiancee said is it really worth as I'll likely buy a PS Pro after Christmas. Coupled with the transfer of all my stuff over, I couldn't really be bothered.

Selling console for £180 (collected with no fees to pay). Not being quite as greedy as some out there!

Update 3: After refusing my Monday delivery due to higher price charged of £290.99 and then reordering for collection Tuesday at £203.01 and not picking up after seeing they charged my card £327.98. One email complaint for each resulted in the same reply, extra £20 pounds refunded to card and a replacement £20 voucher code with a 2 year expiry sent to my email.

Advice to others is just a simple complaint about all the hassle and you should be automatically given this, at least if you where charged the wrong amount with them refusing to honour original order price, not sure if you where canceled beforehand and never actually got charged anything.

I expect a bundle pricing glitch like this on Tesco or Asda would have resulted in the same chaos with stock control reporting, but I think Ocado or Argos would have not had the same problem due to their better stock management systems. Since Sainsburys now own Argos maybe they could learn a thing or two from them. In Sainsburys defence, I think they where very good in giving all those wrongly charged a goodwill gesture even if they didnt honour the order price, so I will definitely give them another go in future.

Another cancellation email - though only till I contacted them first - offered £20 evoucher to cover the one I used for my order. Appreciate the gesture of the voucher, but hassle could've been avoided on both sides if there was more careful management on the situation when they realised there was an error on the site.

Ordered the deal on Sunday, was delivered on Monday but was charged £330.98 as one of the games was out of stock. Took back to shop yesterday, the game was in stock and he tried to ring it through to give me the deal as stated online, but was coming up as £300.99. I asked them to just return it and refund my account. Today I received an email from them today with a £99.99 voucher as I was overcharged due to the substitution error. Good luck to everyone else who the deal didn't work for!

I can see that Sainburys are now offering the slim @ £259 (console only), so chances of high volume new stock of the older model I guess is unlikely, it was a good way of clearing out old stock to make way for the slim, just don't think they realised how good it would be and the demand on their system

My girlfriend managed to get the deal and had it delivered and has the receipt. She also checked her bank account and £203 was debited by JL (sainsburys). My account showed delivery yesterday between 2pm-3pm. I received no text, email or phone call regarding the order. My account showed the order as normal and still does now. No money has been taken and when I phone CS they spoke to the store who said the order had been cancelled due to no stock...? Bizarre really because I know that store did have stock. She did mention to keep an eye on the website today as a new deal was coming on.

I'm not too sure if I should go down with my order confirmation along with my girlfriends receipt and show that I purchased the item and her order was honoured but for some reason mine wasn't. Even though they had the stock and my order is still showing as valid and open?

There was profit to be had u could of sold Deus Ex to cex for £31 (£18 now but if to agree to sell to them u have 10 days to send it at the agreed price) then u could of got at least £40 (after fees) selling other 2 games on ebay so that is £132 + £5 delivery. U could then go for a quick sale on ebay pricing it at £200 free p+p - 13% fees - £10 insured postage so a conservative estimate of about £30 profit. Is it worth the hassle? not for me but some on this thread have questioned the quality of this deal i am of the opinion you may not see a ps4 on here go below £140 within the next few years.

Crystal ball is spot on.

Deal depends on 4 products being in one supermarket at one time for dispatch at the same moment.

Sainsburys do not stack loads of gaming wear in their shops... Simple as.

Your chances of getting the deal is as much as Sainsburys stock in your local supermarket...... Which is pretty much zero...

The crazy thing is Shopto are selling via Ebay & Direct through their website Brand New 500GB PS4 with 1 year warranty, Uncharted and No Mans Sky plus free P&P for £249, so who in their right mind is going to pay anything more than this price from someone who will not provide a warranty / receipt for 1 extra game which you can pick up for around £25, realistically anyone who bought this to sell on is unlikely to get more than £250.
ImagineMonkeys00
13 Sep 16 #1174
True, but if you were just looking for a way to get a standard 500GB PS4, this deal would get it for you at about £125 brand new if you sell the 3 games (which I imagine would be a very decent price even in the time after the new PS4 models have been released)

Hmm, wouldn't have minded a cancellation of my order or increase in price when the delivery came so I can just return it, but downright ignoring the allocated delivery time with no contact or update - that's really poor service, even worse for those who ordered groceries with their orders as well :/
adrian2000

I got this email when I complained.

Thanks for taking the time to get in touch.

I’m disappointed the some of the items you ordered were unavailable and other were charged at full price. I’m sorry for the inconvenience caused as it was such a sought after offer.

Unfortunately as the full bundle was unavailable you’ve been charged individually for the Uncharted and Deus Ex Mankind games.

I’m sure you’re aware that all products are subject to availability and we received a mass amount of orders for this product. Along with this the promotion could’ve been bought instore and therefore we’ve sold out of console and several games.

We’re unsure of when the PS4 consoles will be back instock and this promotion has now been removed from the website and the promotion has ended.

If you’d like to return the games you received at full prices you can do so within 28 days of delivery. Just take your items and receipt along to one of our Customer Service Desks along with your receipt and they’ll be happy to help.

We appreciate the time you’ve taken to contact us and we look forward to seeing you online again soon.

Kind regards,

Marti Adair | Sainsbury's Online

That's why you do collection in person (Or I do). Not worth the hassle/potential to be scammed and avoids the fees. Those that did miss out could pick up the bundle from others for £240 if they are willing to collect in person, which isn't crazy IMHO.

I had ordered groceries as well as the PS4,delivery slot came and went this afternoon....delivery driver just didn't show up at all.

That's really not on. OK I wasn't really expecting the PS4,but they still should have delivered the groceries and made their excuses for the other missing items, but nope, just no show nor any contact,

I rang them, they said I should have received an email yesterday, plus another this morning regarding cancellation of the playstation,I did not receive any emails nor texts,

The store rang me later, said they couldn't contact their delivery driver to check if he had just been delayed with the groceries and would be bringing them later, but they agreed it was strange if the groceries were cancelled too, so apparently they're looking into that tomorrow with the online delivery manager,

They did give me a £10 evoucher off my next order, but I don't think that's good enough. I told them I had been depending on that food delivery for dinner tonight and had been let down at the last minute and had to make do with a take away instead,

Will see what they have to say tomorrow

sainsburys really are one of these companies that are ****..... i had issues where they cancelled my ps4 and because my shopping that i added with it was under gbp40 they charged me delivery cost. I then emailed them and they replied that its quite clear on there website if i order under 40.00 then i have to pay 5.00. wrote back to this numpty read my original email and look at the order before you reply, they didnt give me an option.

Good for them  Seeing an opportunity and earning profit that will likely be recycled into the local economy. I don't think anyone should hold a grudge unless perhaps somebody hoards 10 of these and stops anybody else getting the deal. If you got the PS4, it's up to you whether to profit or use the item.

I went for the profit but I don't blame you either if you were to use the PS4 instead.

P.S. Their mark-up is much higher than mine so they may struggle to shift at that price.
P.S.S. For others doing similar, remember you can't profit on HUKD so don't sell on here.

This is a PR disaster for Sainsburys. If its online systems are so inefficiently connected to it's stock control, then it should not be selling online. Worse, it has allowed customers to be treated badly though its own poor internal systems. I have received neither a email telling me that the order is cancelled or the item. A call to customer services was what it took. Shame on you Sainsburys. Cock-ups like this are preventable. Instead, it has allowed its staff's time to be massively wasted and done nothing but a disservice to itself.

How about this, Sainsburys (Argos) who are now one of the biggest retailers in the UK contact Sony and explain what has happened, then Sony knowing that new models are about to launch agree with sainsburys to offload the products at the prices advertised or as close as say £230 (before the first time customer discount), sainsburys contact all those who have been let down and give them the revised offer, I guess many would take it up, sainsburys gain lots of new customers, good publicity doing the right thing, Sony offload a load of older models, Sony and sainsburys lose nothing...win win....wait for the email guys.

Ordered mine at 11:30 on Sunday night for collection this morning at 11am. Had an email saying my order was cancelled as there were no PS4s in stock last night at around 10:30, then received a text this morning at 08:30 saying again that my order was cancelled. Fair enough I thought, no harm and all that and went on with my day. Had a missed call at 1pm from Sainsbury's asking me to call them, when I did they told me my order was waiting. I told them I'd received the email/texts and they said it had been sent out to most people irrespective of stock.

Went down to the store (Mansfield) to pick it up and there was the console with the 3 games except the receipt was £280. Showed them my order that said £203 and they assured me the difference would be refunded and I could call customer services to double check - which I did from the store. Customer services tell me they won't be refunding anything and that was the price (£280) I'd be paying.

So, off to in-store customer services to speak to the girl who assured me I'd get the refunded difference. She took down the two amounts, said she'd speak to the store manager and get the difference refunded to me and she'd call to confirm she'd done it. Left, 20 minutes later and a call from the girl saying the refund had been authorised and the money would be back in my account within 7 working days.

Funny thing, I haven't been charged for anything yet.

I completed my order just before 11pm on Monday night. I think 11pm is the cutoff for next day deliveries anyway (not sure about click & collect orders) & mine was delivered around half 11 yesterday morning so don't think there was a particular cut off time (at least for orders placed on Monday). Getting the deal just depended on there being all items in stock at the time in whichever store fulfilled the order. Since they are now well aware of this issue it's unlikely that anyone who hasn't already received it will get it for the glitch price, unless they complain & somehow get Sainsburys customer service to honour the price. Most people are getting some amount of compensation by complaining so it might be worth a try.

I tried to take the games back to get them refunded at full price, i..e £46.99 and they couldn't do it. She tried hard to sort it but said I would have to bring the whole bundle back for them to be scanned. Then she said the promo had expired and was no longer on and it would be difficult. Then spoke to someone else .Then said the last thing she could do was phone the customer care line. I said not to bother and I'd keep them. I'll keep Uncharted 4 but might sell the other 2.

bernardsfingers to corfunewlife
13 Sep 16 #1109
Interesting? Anyone who has received it gets a receipt with the amount they've been charged - so they can either accept it or refuse it. Sainsburys can't change the amount charged after its been accepted. It is amazing how inconsistent they've been tho, especially in terms of providing compensation, but it's unsurprising that all orders have since been cancelled as it was obviously a massive mistake. I hate Sainsburys anyway so glad to have taken advantage of this deal!

I've asked if there is any alternative for me right now because I've already promised it to my boy. The guy on the phone suggested that he can call another store to check the stock.
He did that and called me back to say that I can collect my order in person from another store nearby but because the promotion ended last night I will be charged £300 for the full order.
The items are reserved for me to collect before the end of today.
He didn't mention anything about the glitch.

You can't really demand the lower price as it was never supposed to be that price it was a glitch. The offer the had running was £259 for the console and two games but if that has ended your only option's are to pay what the are asking or to cancel the order. I wouldn't have promised it to my son, in fact I told my daughter before I set off that I most likely wouldn't get it which meant it was a great surprise for her when I actually did.

He was kind enough to apologise and let me know that I could go out if I wanted to cancel and he wouldn't even worry about trying to deliver. So - I didn't get the deal, but I can't complain about the customer service. Very good.

Just been into the Nantwich store for click and collect at 9am, order had not been cancelled but when i got there, they gave me a receipt for £280. I queried that with the collect guy and he called his manager to come over. The manager said he had called head office and he was told not to honour the deal, and there was "no way in a million years" he could let me have it at the £203 cost. As a gesture of good will he said he would offer me a £20 voucher, but couldn't let me take the £203 offer :disappointed:

I got some groceries with my order but the total debited is the exact total of what the receipt said that came with the delivery note. So I was charged £203.01 for the bundle.

I already traded deus ex and uncharted 4 in at CEX yesterday. I got £44 for the pair (the price dropped today) which I'm happy with. May have got more returning them to store but I'd get bad karma with my luck lol.

I just got the email saying they were sorry to inform me that due to high demand we've been unable to fulfill your order etc. But the thing is, I got the deal yesterday morning. So I'm now wondering if they are going to even charge me. Nothing has come out of my account yet. I did click and collect. I assume it will take a few days? I wonder if the right amount will come out as some people had the price go up. On my receipt it says £203 and basically I got the deal.

Is it worth keeping no mans sky? Reviews look quite bad. Deus Ex is mixed. Uncharted 4 has best reviews but I've never played any of the previous games so not sure it matters?

I got the same email this morning but collected yesterday before 10am. I think it's a stock response to all who ordered the bundle, if you signed for the order as I did, they will know you've got the pS4. The transaction isn't showing on my statement yet but the available balance shows it's been debited from my account. If they haven't debited your account yet they can take it when they want within a 6 month time frame.

Hmmm. So the PS4 1TB sweet spot is £200. This is a 500Gb that rolls in at around £160 minus the games. I would say that is what it's worth, not amazing, but it's fair value. The slim is out on Friday. Stores will soon be dumping the old stock, more so towards November when the pro is released - so we may expect to see a lot more of these £200/1TB £160/500Gb offers coming up. I wouldn't sweat it if you missed out. I am pretty sure we are weeks away from this being a common price point for the original models.

Update: Refused delivery yesterday 9am as only came with one game for 290.99 (ticked no subs thinking any would invalidate the offer), after reading that people who had requested substitutes still got the bundle price with different versions of the games when collecting in store I reordered for collection with a relatives details (dont do collect in store on my account for some reason) for 8-9am today. This morning I see they have taken £327.98 from my card instead of £203.01 so I guess that didnt work, not sure if ill go to the store to see if I can get a full refund then maybe find games on the shelf and rebuy I think all the online orders for London come from Holborn EC1 so maybe they have the games in local stores. How did this work out for people trying it yesterday?

Yes the delivery guy said sorry a few times but I told him it was fine, it wasn't his fault. I wasn't too upset as I knew it was a glitch & there was a chance it wouldn't happen.

I also got the email late last night saying that it was out of stock & couldn't fulfil my order. Guess the guy who came to my door with a PS4 last night was a dream. Why don't they just tell me it was a glitch like the delivery guy but as always they lie about it which I hate. I will send a complained email mainly because it was the first time I made an online order with them & I used the code which I can no longer use since that will count as a order.

Possibly, but I don't think they will notify you in advance if they substitute your item/s, so can't really tell till actual delivery.

Though if you're not happy with their chosen substitute you can just hand it back to the driver/delivery person and Sainsbury should give you a full refund within the next few days (just read their policy on substitutions) - so in theory no loss, though substitutes probably won't be worthwhile. Cancel if you don't think the lesser chance of actually getting this deal is worth the possible hassle of sorting out a refund?

So the delivery guy said that I would be getting charged the full amount so I had two choices take it & try to sort it out with customer service (after paying full price) or refuse to take it. I refused. He said it was a nation wide glitch & they have all been told to tell everyone what I was told. It's was his third return of the night.

Everyone who has already got it check you're bank because you may have got charged the full price. I couldn't be bothered with the fight to try & maybe get it for the cheaper price but good luck to anyone who wants to give it ago.

mine is getting delivered tomorrow and this is what i'm expecting. CBA to accept the delivery then argue the toss with customer services as i did agree to t&c on website saying alternatives could be offered and refunded if unwanted. reasonable thing to do would probably be to cancel the order now but a faint hope isn't a bad thing - poor driver will be getting 1 more wasted journey on his route (bet van only has 1 ps4 in as no-body will be accepting the delivery)

please everyone just remember it is not the delivery driver's, or the person on the other end of the phone's fault so making their life misery won't make them uphold an obvious misprice

Well my visit to Crayford store proved interesting. Parked up to Collect and the guy had the PS4, Uncharted and No Man's Sky in the van but Deus Ex was unavailable and they subbed it out for.... Battlefield Hardline! A £14.99 game.... (despite checking the box no subs online last night).

So the total my card was charged was £243.99 (less £30 in e-coupons; £20 for the deal plus I had an additional £10 e-coupon from before). I took it into the store and the lady checked if they had Deus Ex but no... (I checked the shelves later on and the box for Deus Ex was on display!!!). I decided to get a refund in the end since she could only refund me £14.99 for the unwanted game that would leave it not much of a deal to be had.

Funny thing is that the guy in the van had the exact same order for someone else to pick up and they had Deus Ex subbed out for Hardline.

Negative to Positive results ratio seems to be tipping so with mine not due to be delivered until tomorrow evening I have decided to cancel.

I am thinking of adopting this supermarket online business model though so will be selling ps4s for £2 on my site however stock is extremely limited and I may substitute for a £180 potato....you are of course welcome to ask for a refund if this happens however it will sit in my account for 7 days gaining interest while you get it sorted and we process it...completely legit it seems :P

Apart from the fact your business model is flawed.

£1 max interest for one transaction per week over a year

Then you take from your profit:
Transaction fees - taking payment & refunding payment
Wages for staff choosing & packing the potato
Delivery costs.
Return Costs
& Customer Service costs

You would be bankrupt in days & to suggest Sainsburys are making any money from any part of this is a tad naive

Consider avoiding this.

I ordered yesterday for 5.30pm delivery. Didn't turn up so called my local store and the assistant manager said that my account was cancelled, I was "more than likely committing fraud" and I won't be getting my order. After questioning what she said she got heated and hung up. Called customer services who explained that the order was out of stock in store so my order was cancelled (the store should of informed me of this).
The deal has been removed due to running out of stock of ps4's but is still live on their system until the 20th of September.

Complaint has been raised regarding the local sainsbury's doorknob, I'm not usually one to complain but the level of customer service recieved from sainsbury's Peterborough was atrocious.

£200-£203 is probably the normal price for these in a month or two.
with release of the slim which will be replacing these and the more premium Pro,it's only natural for the original to fade out slowly and we are more than likely to see huge price drops for remaining stock of the original.

well after a while i managed to register online with them on my phone, because the laptop was having none of it. when i did order the price came up as £228 with delivery because it wouldn't accept the e voucher?. i got a call a few hours later saying that my order had been cancelled (cannock branch) and she was very sorry. i told her that that just didn't cut it. so i have emailed them and told them in no uncertain terms what i think of their customer care policy. i would urge anyone that has gone through the same to do so as well. i think they should pay for their incompetence.to be honest i am not that bothered about losing out. because when the new ps4 pro comes out i think there will be a glut of deals

Hi.I thought i would add my 2p's worth.I ordered on the Sunday night for Monday afternoon collection (Paid the £3 delivery) Looking at this thread this morning i was apprehensive i wouldn't receive it or they would charge me more and with a game less as looking at some of the posters who received it this morning that was what was happening.

Well anyway he knocks on the door on time (1pm) With the receipt showing £242 missing deus ex.... So i questioned him and he said everything looks fine (He didn't know about the offer,Not sure why lol) Anyways so i decline it as to me i was like £100 down.

Light bulb moment i thought to myself they still have the item so is it worth me trying it on with Sainsburys customer service and mentioning about the missing game and the 'wrong price' i have been charged. So she goes off to contact the delivery depot... Advises i would be called back straight away.. No callback after 5 minutes (Knew time was of the essence as the item might of been given to someone else) So as i was on the phone to her i asked for the delivery depot and called them after the 5 minutes.

So i call the delivery depot and she advises everything looks okay and the price was correct... After a bit of manipulating and advising it is my son's birthday tomorrow (which it is) She tells me she will look into it as she needs to find the missing game.Anyways she calls back around 4:30pm to advise yes all okay you can have for the £203 (Gets the £3 refund back as i went to collect it)

Now as i get into the store this guy calls me to advise of a cock-up.... So i think maybe they have changed their mind etc etc .. Nope. This is the best bit Sainsburys has given me too much money back to my account so now i have a ps4 with the 3 games for £95!!!

End of a true story

I'm summising the long story here. You were appalled that Sainsburys had taken too much off you but are now happy that you've taken too much off them?

Is that right?
fozzeh to Croft34
12 Sep 16 1 #892
And when they notice, they can legally get it back from you

For me; ordered yesterday and had it delivered. "Paid" £203...charged £289 to my card.

Fun games with Sainsburys.

So, for others by the legislation; as it was delivered by 'post', they are responsible for the return if cancelled within the 14 days. You would have to return it within the original packaging (which would be none!) via the post or their method of return. They have to be returned within 14 days of them arranging for a suitable time for delivery/collection. The cost of the return would be very minimal.

From their terms; estimated costs covers items where something is substituted. Changing a price after contract formation but before delivery without any type of communication isn't right.

And their terms are wrong. Software items can be returned: you wouldn't be able to " in the case of a contract for the supply of sealed audio or sealed video recordings or sealed computer software, if the goods become unsealed after delivery"

Oh, and I'm double backed by paying with credit card. Time to ring them!

I'd say there have been plenty of fab deals for people who wanted one, going back well over a year ago. If you've not been tempted thus far, especially given the amazing games that have already come out, it's unlikely you'll play it much. Great deal though!
If I hadn't bought one before now I think I'd go for one of the new PS4 models, play cheap games like Witcher, Batman, Fallout 4 and by the time I'd worked my way through those, these particular offered games will be cheap as hell anyway :sunglasses:

I ordered just before 11pm last night with delivery (for £3) between 11:30 - 12:30 this afternoon & mine arrived. I actually received a phone call around 11:30 & assumed it would be a cancellation but was just the delivery driver who couldn't find my building (despite it being on a main road in city centre) so was actually surprised when it turned up. Although it was the Day One Edition, I didn't get the Deus Ex figure which some people seem to have got but can't say I'm too bothered about it. Can anyone confirm if you need PS+ to play any of the 3 games? I've not opened anything yet & thought best to check first.

I ordered last night for a 9.30 am collection this morning at the store. When I turned up the lady in the van said I was the was the only customer to get a PS4 due to stock shortages and that there was a woman waiting inside the store hoping I wouldn't pick my console up so she could get one. My order was however missing Uncharted 4 and Deus Ex and I was charged £290 (had some groceries too). I went into the store and told them about being overcharged and also about the missing games, the manager very kindly got me a copy of Uncharted and Deus Ex (which came with a cool little Adam Jensen figure) from the store and after a little bit of work he returned the console and No man's Sky and then redid the transaction with all three games which did come up on the till as £223 he then deducted another £20 goodwill gesture to cover my e voucher.

They then gave me £102.98 in cash to cover the over payment to my card when I left the store I realized that they should have only refunded me £82.98 so they must have refunded me my e voucher cost and also a £20 goodwill gesture. I traded in Uncharted and Deus Ex for £44 cash so I managed to get a PS4 with No Man's Sky for £140 which is a fantastic price.

I was never very confident of getting this deal as I knew it was a glitch but I kept calm and polite with the staff (which some other people this morning had not according to the click and collect van lady) and the HUKD gods were obviously smiling on me. Thanks so much to the OP for posting this glitch.

Same here just come off the phone, order cancelled due to no stock, but store did not phone or email to cancel. Lucky I did not take time off to be here, bit of a joke really so well done to those who did actually get theirs. I was told the offer will be back on end of the week when they get more stock in and have credited back the £20 discount. Only thing I guess they will have fixed the glitch. All things considered I guess the saving was £50 and over the coming weeks it will probably be less as the ps4 finds its new price point of around £180, you can get 2 games and a new ps4 for less than £250 now, with a new model on the shelves it's inevitable the price is going to fall.

Delivery driver just turned up and I was charged £280.99. Refused delivery and sent it back for a refund. Damn it to hell! Driver was a really nice guy, and said that it's happening "nationwide" and he's had 3 of them today already refused. I just never seem to get these types of deals when it's been a mess up. Not sure I really need a PS4 on top of Xbox One, 360 and Wii U (as well as a 3DS).

Ordered last night though and due for a delivery tomorrow at 4:30pm.

Tempted to see what plays out but if they are going to bill me full price or only deliver with 2 games so they can charge more, I don't really want the stress of returning it.

I got caught up in a similar Sainsbury's groceries deal for a tablet a while back. Because it comes from your local store it all depends on the stock they hold. That is why some are getting it, some paying more for only some of the items, and some are getting cancelled. My tablet got cancelled an hour before delivery slot and it took days to get the refund. Heat for those that get it but with me once bitten twice shy!

It amazes me how many stupid comments and questions are being asked here by silly people.
Thanks for letting me know both Xbox One and PS4 are consoles Captain Obvious. Unless you were too dim witted to realise, my question was a rhetorical one pointing out the fact that it's utterly stupid to think that a PS4 deal would apply to Xbox One when there's absolutely nothing to suggest that would be the case anywhere on Sainbury website nor here.

12 Sep 16 #780
Hi everyone, bit of an update as I've had an absolute saga with this! I collected console and games this morning, click and collect guy guaranteed it would go through for 203 and if it didn't he gave me a number to call (they were so back logged with these orders they gave me the stuff before they took payment).

I then had a call from my credit card provider because sainsburys had attempted to charge me THREE times for the console at three different amounts (203, 239 and 300). The 239 had cleared.

So I called sainsburys and patiently and pleasantly explained what had happened and they gave me 36 quid in store credit to make up for it. I do my grocery shopping at sainsburys anyway so that was fine by me. So after a convoluted process I ended up with the console and games for 203, if anything happens with your payment definitely worth calling customer services, they didn't bat an eyelid before giving me the credit.

They might have already picked your order if it's being delivered today. The guy said they were preparing orders for tomorrow and wouldn't be able to fulfil any of the items because they had sold or delivered too many today, and all stores in NW were now out of stock. Sounds like those lucky enough to get a slot for today might still get lucky, as by the sounds of things, they've been going round the stores to look for items to fulfil today's deliveries.

Simple.

PSVR.

Sony have outlaid a wad of cash developing the headset. It needs more grunt to do VR justice. (The standard PS4 will run it, but not that well. PS4 games devs have confirmed this.)

Hence the Pro version. Sony don't want PSVR to flop. And if you plan on getting PSVR, you REALLY want the Pro version. I will be. (Already have VR on the PC but I'll invest in the console version too if it's any good .... I hope it is.)

The 4k side of things? Meh. Who cares. The Pro still doesn't have the GFX power to do high detail 4k rendering at stable, high, framerates. And even if it did, that'd just mean the same tired lineup of games they've been churning out since the PS2 .... only with slightly better GFX. Again. Yawn.

At least PSVR should make them think out of the box for the first time in years ....

Anyone getting a text confirming the delivery, THIS IS NOT CONFIRMATION OF STOCK OR ANYTHING, just that your slot is booked.

My girlfriend is an online shopper (she first pointed me to the deal this morning after she had to shop loads of these orders)
She said that it all depends on the stock on the day, so your order will be shopped between like 4am-10am and its whoever gets to the consoles first. Would advise anyone who is click and collecting to ring the store up, and ask if the whole order was in stock, if not, cancel it over the phone. Save yourself the trip, that's what ill be doing.

Also this offer is valid till 23:59 on thrusday night.

What does the reciept look like be good if you could return games full price ?
reddragon105
12 Sep 16 #708
That sounds great, but I guess it will be entirely game dependent. I've just read this article from the developers of The Witness -
http://the-witness.net/news/2016/09/were-doing-a-ps4-pro-patch-here-are-the-technical-details/

So that game currently renders at 900p, upscaled to 1080p and runs at 60fps. With the Pro it's going to render at 1440p, upscaled to 4K - or, if you've got a Pro but only a 1080p TV it will render at 1080p with increased anti-aliasing. That's actually quite impressive and I like the way it scales - but they point to take away from the article is that the developers are making a patch for the game to do this. That could mean you're only going to see improvements with games that developers can be bothered to patch, with the ones that get ignored being left to render at 1080p or less and not being able to take advantage of the new hardware at all.

The Pro will render quite a bit above 1080p, then upscale to 4k. I hear it could be around 1800p so it will still look a lot nicer. Plus depending on the game it will make 1080p either run as higher framerates or look a bit nicer if you don't need 4k. I think it's quite decent for the price but need more information on it really to decide if its worth it.

Nice !

"The PlayStation 4 firmware gets an update next week to add HDR compatibility, Sony announced during today’s PlayStation Meeting. Owners of the console can go and update their consoles to get access to the new firmware"

"The firmware update makes all PlayStation 4 models HDR-compatible. The PS4 family now includes the currently available model, the slimmed down PS4 that arrives on Sept. 15 and PS4 Pro. Despite the firmware update, only PlayStation 4 Pro will be able to output games in 4K, however."

With the HDR update for standard PS4s I really don't see the point of the Pro at all. The only difference seems to be 4K output for games - but that's not actually 4K gaming as the games won't be rendered in 4K; they'll be rendered at 1080p and then upscaled. Obviously you'll need a 4K TV to take advantage of that, but if you have a 4K TV then the TV itself will be upscaling any 1080 input to fit the screen. So the only difference is which device does the upscaling. Presumably the PS4 would do a better job than a TV, but will it be a big enough difference to justify the price?

Wouldn't be surprised but it should be just better quality that's all on new console, so it shouldn't be any compatibility issues. We will see.

Driver just turned up, mentioned that a couple of the items may well have been substituted.

No PS4's left in stock - substituted in a replacement controller
2 out of the three games not in stock - substituted in two of the same game plus the only correct one in stock.

Cracking effort Sainsburys!

12 Sep 16 #645
Surely its a possibility to make the most of the most of the hardware, BUT given the anger at backwards compatibility, it would be silly to do it. I would personally expect to see added features and better textures etc as opposed to exclusive titles, the fact that the "next-gen" console war is going to kick off in the next couple of years (maybe even next year), would surely make Sony and MS think carefully before excluding their customers (MS certainly should have learned their lesson from the One launch!!).

The PS4 Pro has a reported £349 UK release price, and £259 slim price. Saying that I had a PS3 slim and the build quality was utter rubbish!

I voted hot btw.

Do we think they'll be games that only work on the PS4 Pro?

From Which:

The Distance Selling Regulations no longer apply in UK law. The Consumer Contracts Regulations - which came into force in the UK in June 2014 - now apply when making online purchases.

The Consumer Contracts Regulations

From 13 June 2014 the Consumer Contracts Regulations - which implement the European Consumer Rights Directive into UK law - apply to all purchases you make at a distance.

The Distance Selling Regulations have now been replaced by this piece of legislation.

For guidance in relation to contracts entered into on on after 13 June 2014, please see our page on the Consumer Contracts Regulations.

This page provides guidance in respect of existing contracts which were entered into on or before 12 June 2014.

The Distance Selling Regulations were the rules that protected your consumer rights when buying products from a distance, for example, online or over the phone, for contracts made up until 12 June 2014.

The Distance Selling Regulations set out information the seller must give about the goods or service on offer, including:
a description of the goods or service
the price of the goods or service
delivery costs (where applicable) and any cancellation rights
the minimum duration of the contract
information about the seller

This information has to be provided in a clear manner, and in a format appropriate to the means of communication used (so, for example, in the terms and conditions of a written contract, or verbally in the case of purchases over the phone).

The information about the seller must include a geographical address if payment is taken in advance.

When you place an order, the seller becomes obliged by law to provide further information in a durable medium, such as in writing or by email.

This includes details of how to exercise any right to cancel and who is responsible for the cost of returning goods. If the seller has already provided this information they don't need to do so again.

If the seller wants to send substitute goods, because they don't have the items you wanted in stock, it should say so before you place your order.

The cost of returning any such substitutes should always be at the seller’s expense.

Your right to cancel an order for goods

The Distance Selling Regulations state that your right to cancel an order starts the moment you place your order and doesn’t end until seven working days from the day after you receive your goods. This period is extended in cases where the seller failed to provide the required information to you after the contract was concluded.

Seven days is the minimum legal cancellation period and many sellers choose to exceed this, so always check the terms and conditions in case you have longer to return your items.

As this seven-day working period is the time you have to decide whether to cancel the contract, by law the seller can’t say that you must have returned the goods within this time frame.

If you wish to cancel a contract, you should send notice of your cancellation to the supplier by email, letter or fax.

The goods you can't return

There are some goods you can't return if you simply change your mind, including:
CDs, DVDs or software if you've broken the seal on the wrapping
perishable and other items that deteriorate rapidly such as food and flowers
tailor-made or personalised goods
underwear and earrings

So no.
