Cherry Red keys are pretty horrible guys, imo. Feels weird as there's no click or feeling at all when you depress the key. Browns ftw

Ergonomics, which by nature are hard to convey in writing.
I'm sure you've used some cheapo £4.99 'Trust' branded mouse at a friends house at some point, and then used a much nicer Logitech or Razer later on. The same concept applies to keyboards.
There is no 'bad' switch, or 'switch X = Y purpose' - you need to try them and see which one you prefer. Same goes for the shape of the mouse you hold :innocent:

most cheap keyboards have a plastic top and a rubbery conductive pad which makes contact with a zig-zag pattern on a printed circuit board. the keyboard wears unevenly, and so you find some keys have to be harder than others, sometimes you get bounce/repeats, and some might stop working. Usually, you chuck it away out of rage before then.
a mechanical switch keyboard has a much longer life, and the feel of the switches is consistent, different models require different pressures.

R.E. which mechanical switch people prefer, is there any way/shop/place/drug dealer that will give us a chance to compare different switches without buying five different keyboards on Amazon and sending four back? Or do I need five friends with different keyboards? Better make some friends...sigh

I'd love to know this too. My local PC world have nothing but a few boxed units so no way to try... Only other retailer near me is novatech but I doubt they have all types on display either.
I got the roccat ryos keyboard , black mx keys, absolutely amazing keyboard , not for the speed typist but amazing for the gamer and general typing. And before anyone says anything ? It's my opinion on my keyboard, love the ad for it too , makes me laugh. Check link below

Wanted a wrist rest for comfort and Leds cause I play at night mostly. I like the media keys as well, my last keyboard (cm quickfire rapid) was a standard one like the k83 so I wanted to try something with some extras.

I went with a standard k70 because I use a k70 at home, and it's just easier to transition between keyboards. also Scan had a refurbished one for £70
