Fancy something a little bit different? How about a weekend on a boat in the centre of Stockholm? Ideal for friends wanting a budget get away.
The M/S Birger is a budget, but central option in Stockholm with an rooftop bar and walking distance to most attractions. Rooms are compact, and this room option has bunk beds, but you are staying on an old ship and rooms have private bathrooms.
Flights leaving on 7th October and return on 9th October.

other than the distance from skavsta to stockholm its a beautiful city but it can be crazy expensive if you want to have a sit down meal or a drink
Thanks for coming up with these deals Rachel. I find them quite inspirational for ideas. Normally the deals are impractical for me as I have to travel fri-Sun rather than intraweek.

You'd have to get up incredibly early for that flight back. So early, it's probably not even worth having the second night. If there was a flight later in the day, it would be much better to take that, even if the price doubled...

I think there may be a later flight too in the day for a little more or even on the Monday evening too for the same price (or there was last night).

It says hostel but rooms are private with own bathrooms. In Denmark, Sweden, Finland I found that the term hostel was used a lot rather than hotels. Especially for those without restaurants.

The boat is a great option. different and cheap. did it for two nights and it was great. small rooms and hot but a great option
I agree about the early morning flight back, you'd have to be at the airport for 4.30am, feeling like death warmed up.

Jensens Bøfhus is £4.30 for a sit down flank steak or chicken breast until 4pm. I'd say it is a step up from pub food, but not a high end steak place. Definitely the best value sit down place I know of in Stockholm. There are three right in the centre and one further out of town.

It'd be possible to put a similar package together for Gothenburg with a ship hotel for similar or slightly less using Ryanair and a ship hotel (non en suite available through Airbnb as well as ensuite through Expedia etc for half
the price). Ten minutes walk to the main station and airport bus so no expensive transfer.

http://www.restaurangrosmarin.se/ It is quite a small place and can be busy. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g189852-d942881-Reviews-Master_Anders-Stockholm.html is very close, and was also fine if the Rosmarin is busy.
