Morrisons fresh whole salmon is £6/kg - down from £9.74/kg- and they always have plenty of stock
Update - Price increased to £6.47/Kg on Tuesday 13th September
Offer available 'till September 25th
The average price of a whole salmon is £12 - £20
It's been a few months since the last Morrison's salmon offer as world salmon prices have been increasing due to an algae problem in Chile earlier this year
Time to stock up @ £6.47/kg?
My local Morrison's fishmongers are very helpful. They will always top and tail and cut a whole salmon into 6 - 8 double portions, seal in 6 - 8 individual bags and put in a large bag with the whole salmon price attached
Quote from Morrisons website:
"While you shop…
We’ll prepare any fish you choose, so whether you fancy a whole salmon or just a fillet, our expert fishmonger can help. We can supply your fish whole, filleted, steak, or as a butterfly or loin – take your pick."

terror mongers.
it may not be pleasant for the fish...
but it is certainly not unhealthy for us.
do you know that farmers give cows different feed to get better milk?
even in the unlikely case that it is less heathy, you would have to eat stupid amounts for it to even effect you.

I don't want to put anyone off. But my understanding of farmed Salmon is that the feed they give the fish is not good and therefore when humans consume the fish it puts us at a high risk of cancer.

It's been a few months since the last Morrison's salmon offer as world salmon prices have been increasing due to an algae problem in Chile earlier this year
Even this offer has increased from £6/kg to £6.47/kg since yesterday
But it's currently still the cheapest supermarket deal around for fresh whole salmon and theMorrison's fishmongers should fillet and package the fish to your requirements

Depends on how much PCB in the waters plus feedstock sources. The waters near industrial nations have the highest pollutants.

For some reason this never tastes as good as the already cut up and filleted stuff
If you believed or actually took on board everything no one would step out side the house. I can't catch a fresh salmon so I don't think one moderation this is some sort of silent killer.
I will be buying poison salmon later. Yum yum.

What are you referring to exactly? Current US Dietary Guidelines recommend 8oz a week of a variety of seafood per week including salmon, trout etc.

The EPA recommend no more than 1 serving a month.. How safe is that then? .. But feel free you are welcome to my share.

my local Morrisons Newport Road Cardiff are not that helpfull as you are claiming op. They will give you a nasty look if you ask them to cut it and put it to individual bags and then will refuse and will advise you to pick up already cut fish stored in the fridge. Eventually they cut a fresh one but refused to put in individual bag when I asked again, and they lut all pieces in a tray and hand it over to me.

Mercola.com rates farmed Norway salmon as the most toxic foodstuff they tested .. Scary reading. Pay the price for the wild stuff .
Mercola is one of the most unreliable sources on the internet. It's full of misinformation and has very questionable views on many things such as vaccines.

Thanks.... Never knew, just looked
Story at-a-glance -
Salmon farming is a disaster both for the environment and for human health, and tests show farmed salmon is about five times more toxic than any other food tested
In animal feeding studies, mice fed farmed salmon developed obesity and diabetes — effects researchers believe are related to toxic exposures
Besides pesticides and antibiotics used in fish farming, the most significant source of toxic exposure is the dry pellet feed, which contains dioxins, PCBs, and other toxic pollutants
I tend to buy whole Salmon from Makro, the fishmonger there can clean it up and cut it any way you want for £5/kg, Morrison does not need a card and they have more branches so it's better availability to most people. Heat.

Please excuse my ignorance. Is this farmed or wild. Read a lot about how bad farmed Salmon can be, so i stopped buying unless clearly labeled.

Website says it's farmed in Norway or Scotland. I doubt wild is viable at that price. What did you read?
