Wow, I got mine today - fantastic service as I only ordered it yesterday. I ordered two of the special £25 + VAT chairs (Capricorn, leather). The business name I used was my surname, followed by 'Electronic Services'. No quibble, phone calls or emails from them, other than a confirmation one.

One of the chairs & the stereo is going to my 17 yr old for Xmas - £30 for pressies that look to be worth 3 times that!!! Thanks for this, must be the bargain of the century :-))

Hi Edi, Must admit that this is more than likely the best free gift that i've ever received from Staples. Build quality is not bad and it's not obvious that it's a free gift.

The free gift offer hasn't expired. My gf has ordered one this evening and the order went though ok from what I can gather.

Well worth placing an order for IMHO.

i got an email saying the same thing. They just don't want to give away those cd players do they.

What sort of business names are you lot using to fool them. I got the email stating that I cannot order because I am not a business. I just entered my own name as a business name.

i have orderd 5 of them used 2 different home addresses. staples donnt let you order more then 1. what you need to do is got to your loging history and change email address and then make a new account on the same house address but with old email address and then order another after doing this then change the email address of your account(you can even change all details of yours and i think its best to change them ) and make another account with your old email address. :-) do as many orders as you want to(gifts for christmis) but make sure to leave a gap of 1 day before changing email from you old account.

You get a confirmation of order email... But not a confirmation of order being processed :wink: Staples had/have? an error where it allows you to put a 99p item in when it should only be 99p after spending £120 (or whatever it was)... All those people got an email after their confirmation one saying the order was cancelled etc.

So they could still email you saying theres not enough info to say you run a company etc.

When I reg with staples I just put in my last name where it said company. I first ordered a diary 99p and the code went through fine then I changed my mind and decided I needed some ink for my printer anyway so ordered that have had confirmation email sent so now look forward to getting my cd player :smiley:

i have tried to get this free gift with staples, and my order was rejected(My order totaled £8.64). They then sent me a email stating under There T&C, the website and mail order is for use by business customers only.
I called there customer help and was told that a £10 minimum spend is required. then i was told by a deffernt customer Rep. that i could not order as i was not a business user......
What's going on....!>!??

This system is ideal to compliment this cd player.It simply plugs in the back via the jack input and improves the sound quality no end.Neat ideas is apparantly part of staples and is a very similar ordering process.It is still possible to have an account with these as well.

My 59p set of notepads arrived this morning, but alas no CD player. I did get a car vacuum cleaner though which looks cheap and horrible. :-(

Wow, i can now mark out on my wall, with the pencils i ordered, where to put my cd player, which came free with my pencils, and then use the ruler, which i also ordered, to measure the distance between each screw i need to put in, and then, using my free screwdriver, put my cd player up on the wall!!!Ok so i'm not actually going to do that, but it gives me great satisfaction to see my bargain purchase displayed like that so that i'm satsified that my ruler won't just be used to scratch my a@@!

i have done a couple of these offers befor and staples always seem to be quite good. when they are not able to send the gift they have telephoned me to see if i want to cancel the order

I can understand them trying to wriggle out of it,but can't understand them sending the ordered item without the free gift.They are not fulfilling their part of the bargain and are in the wrong.If they don't want to send the free item,why don't they just cancel the order and say they are out of stock.They put this system in place and should live by it.If they don't like it ,change it,put in place a MOV.

Well the same thing happened to me. Only one ruler turned up and no screwdriver or cd player! I called them last night and some snotty girl in the call centre gave a list of reasons why I shouldn't receive either of my free gifts (ordered on two separate orders) none of which I could see stated on their website.

Apparently she herself :evil: (pretty sure that is an actual likeness) had noticed that lots of people were ordering small items in order to obtain the free gifts and took it upon herself to tell all of the customer services staff to STOP SENDING THE GIFTS!!! :x She then said that as a gesture of good will she will send me just one of them. When I asked her why her response was "Do you want to argue about it or do you want your free gift?" (obviously there was slightly more discussion than just that;-) )

Needless to say I decided to stop arguing.......as soon as the CD player turns up I will resume arguing and demand the 39p back for the missing ruler!!! :razz:

the cd player refuses to play any cd

At first I thought it might of been my wife's music (:evil: ) but when I put mine, it still wasn't playing (cue bad music jokes all round!!)
The cd spins round but then stops and shows 00 in the display. Pressing the play button on both machine and remote does nothing.

Phoned Staples CS this morning who say that I have to send it back and they will test it. If broken they will send another one. However, the lady did not give me a returns number or offered a pick up, just seemed to want to give me the postal address and get away (breakfast must of been ready:wink: )

Will ring later to obtain a returns number and see about a pick up.
All this for a "free" cd player :evil:

It's not mp3 compatible...20 songs is about as many mp3's as you can convert to an audio cd format that it will play :smile:

If you're using Windows then Windows Media Player should let you burn your MP3s in "Audio CD" format.

If you have Nero Express/Burning ROM then this will also let you burn MP3s in "Audio CD" format.

they sent me my pritt stick and the invoice - it said free gifts were only for orders over £30. THE SWINES!

I couldnt be bothered fighting for a [EMAIL="[email protected]"][email protected][/EMAIL] cd player so I remembered I hadn't #actually# received my items and got a full refund!

They forgot do this the 1st time but a call to there 0800 sorted it. keeping away from them!

Ray, as far as I understand the player is the same for both F1 and F4 codes. The F1 code demands a MOV whereas the F4 doesnt :wink:

Looks like there are two codes for this player and 'F4-xxxx' hasnt got any MOV.

When you apply a code to Staples order, error message appears if there is a problem. F4-69223 was accepted with a £2.97 order :smiley:
