I'm not sure if this will help but I highlighted the "G5 boot looping problem" part of your post. Then I right clicked the highlighted section. Finally, I clicked on 'Search Google for "G5 boot looping problem". A new tab popped up with loads of relevant links. Hope that helps.

I had bootloop hardware fault with my lg g4. Gutted... Bricked after 13 months and nothing I can do as I bought phone outright I hear the g5 has also been reported to be showing the same problems although maybe a bit early to say for sure? If you buy g5 then get insurance. I'm out though. Not for me even at half this price. Oh.. been on the phone to lg yet again today. Got straight through to customer overspill department? Took down my details again. They will call back in 48 hours..Yeah right! Terrible service.

mine broke last month and my friends misses the day later, although i got mine on contract they have a 2 year warranty, so they should be able to fix it. they couldnt fix mine so carphone warehouse automatically "upgraded" me to one of these, hope it lasts
I had the same problem about 2 months ago, called them, they arranged collection. Never even called me, then 7-10 days later they returned my phone with a new motherboard and been ok since. Mine too was 13 months old at the time, i assumed it was 12 months warranty but its apparently 24 months, specially with this been a known issue.
Communications with LG was garbage but the service overall was ok, but i would think twice before buying another.

From what I understand from others who also have the G4 and have had the problem it's pretty normal, however they are honoring the older warranties(they kind of have to with a manufacturing defect) and because the phone is out of manufacturing and the error too expensive to fix they are doing full refunds or upgrades directly to the G5.
So that £600 over 2 years for a £400 phone plus £250 free accessories, plus the contract. Thats pretty good.

This is pretty much the same as the argos deal with the £9 three sim only 4gb contract. Just reduces the upfront cost for only £9 extra:
(£24 * 9) + £429.95 = £645.95 LG G5 Argos £429.95

Currently paying £15 for this same tariff from Three as a sim deal so this works out at an extra £12.29 a month including the £54.99 upfront cost although i was undecided between the Note 7 and the same tariff with a S7 Edge for £34 a month this looks like the best flagship deal i think ive seen as audio is a Strong point for me and Samsung phones sound like garbage i just wonder how to get the Adoptive Storage back ad LG as standard use the SD Card as a external source which i dont prefer.
Badongkadong to GQ Man
8y 27d#24
Adoptive storage is a bad idea when your phone has UFS2.0 32GB; the reason being that microsd cards are not designed to be written on constantly so if they are used like that then the chance of card failure increases.

Just a shame it's Three Essential. No FaH is unfortunate, and the cost of upgrading to a better plan would be significant over 24 months.

Done that. Got a ref number and it said they will contact me in 72 hours. Nothing happened so I phoned and got the overspill department that just takes your contact details with the 48 hour agent call back but nothing. Forums full of comments re.. Bootloop. I think it can't be fixed as new parts fail to. Looks like the g5 is less likely to be identical however it takes a few months for the heat to work it's magic. We will see. Best phone ever though. My G4 bootlooped 3 weeks ago, from the Vodafone deal posted in Jan/Feb. Motherboard had to be replaced and should be receiving it back today. If it wasn't for the freezer trick all my data would have been lost!
LGs support tracking is useless! Put me off the LG G5 ... Especially if it suffers from the same issue!

8y 27d#32
The G4 bootloop was caused by a bad batch of Snapdragon 808 chips. The problem seemed to be in the dual A57 cores. My wife's G4 had the bootloop issue in July and it took 4 weeks to get sorted BUT it did get sorted in the end. I am unaware of any serious issues with the G5 but whatever they are they will be unconnected with those on the G4.

I bought this yesterday with 4GB data, unlimited texts/calls, free B&O DAC and headphones for £25 a month on 3 with no upfront cost!
Well after months of umming & ahhing S7 Edge vs HTC 10 and now the exploding Note 7 all phones apart from the HTC 10 seem to have to many issues S7 edge far to fragile and scratches/break easily ive lost count on the amount of threads on this very site with people saying their Edge has cracked with a tiny fall of just in their pocket and now the latest problems with the Note 7 which is even worse for scratches etc let alone the battery issue and Sammy phones sound like crap TBF which is important to me and i reckon this is the best deal on a flagship phone to date ive yet seen also grabbed it under the Special offers tab which removes the £54.99 upfront cost and went through TCB for hopefully £31.50 cashback, but for £25 a month in this day and age is insane value i now just need to find the best 200gb/ 256gb SD card now to go in it.
So for me as i mentioned in comment #18 its only a tenner a month more than the £15 for the same sim tariff im on and i get a new current Gen phone and a decent Dac and headphones extra no brainier really.

christech81
8y 27d1#41
This is a good deal. I was in a similar situation, wanted to upgrade to a sim free unbranded phone with better camera and audio capabilities, it was the G5 or the HTC 10.
The HTC 10 is arguably the better phone, at the current sim free price of £469.99 it represents good value but I went for the Argos LG G5 B&O bundle at £429.99 and bought a case for it, all worked out less than the price of the HTC.
GQ Man
8y 27d#42
Yeah my last two phones I've bought outright SIM free as thats always been the cheapest route for my Note 3 and 64 gig Nexus 6 but this deal just makes more sense financially speaking. Out of interest id love to know which phone sounds best with headphones between this and the HTC 10 as strangely i cant find a comparison done anywhere.
christech81
8y 27d2#43
This is definately a good deal when you factor in the bundled minutes and data.
I couldn't find direct comparisons of the sound quality of the LG and HTC, only "data" and some opinion, What Hifi said the LG with the B&O module could rival a dedicated hi-res player, from what I gather though B&O gave input to the speaker and sound shaping. Both good smartphones.
Currently using LG music but have heard USB Audio Pro player is quite good but I'd read that the latest update does not support the B&O module.

A bog standard TPU case for £15 isn't very good really value or look TBF im surprised nobody has made a decent case for this from one of the named makes, i have found quite a few nice cases for this phone but whats the point in dropping £15-£25 on a case when i want to be rocking the DAC module full time and cant stand the cases available im dammed if i do and dammed if i dont.

8y 27d#54
Found the same problems also, other problem is design of G5 screen makes it hard for a screen protector to fit correctly. Check the android forums for lots of the same issues, i have now ordered a full case kinda like a otterbox defender
GQ Man
8y 27d#55
Yeah i haven't yet looked into that as it was on my list of getting a decent Glass screen protector so what makes the LG G5 screen difficult then ? and what full protection case did you go for ?
Yeah let me know the case look nice but ive never experienced a case with a built in screen protector that isn't invisible like proper glass ones i can always clearly see that its dull/makes the screen less clear ive always normally just popped out the plastic protector from the case and just used the enhanced protection from the case.
skrulls
8y 26d1#58
case is no good i'm afraid, cut out at the back for the camera is not big enough so black in corners when you try to take pictures. i am going to not bother with a screen protector i think and just use the tough armor i bought

To be honest, if a scratch can make a mark on gorilla glass then a flimsy screen protector won't help either.

Hallelujah my biggest problem/restriction with this phone is now sorted for Adoptive Storage after installing the official LG driver from their site it literally took 5 minutes and after to many hours research its be come blatantly obvious that the best cards to put in for Adoptive Storage are the Samsung Evo Plus due the best random 4k speeds even better than the Pro plus, apparently many people have been doing this for months now with great performance/reliability, and best of all this can be done without Root or voiding anything and can be easily reversed at any time. http://www.modaco.com/news/android/heres-how-to-configure-adoptable-storage-on-your-s7-s7-edge-r1632/?page=1
