I've got an F95 (looks to be the same frame) that has been upgraded to a mix of 5800/6800 and fulcrum quattros - it's a fantastic bike, very comfortable and lightning quick at turning.
However don't forget to add £29.99 postage to the £645.00

For my money the Pinnacle Dolomite 5 from Evans is better, hydraulic disc brakes are nice.

To be fair, the bike you're referring to is over £200 more than this, and while it is a nice bike (and defo worth a look), it's not a fair comparison to this deal given the price difference imo.
This bike is a cracking deal, and especially having a FULL 105 groupset. While hydraulic brakes are nice, the 105s brakes are not too shabby themselves and nobody will have any problems stopping. Heat from me!

Mine has 105 brakes and rear/front mechanical and shifters with a better than 105 crankset.
Just realised it was the older model. It did cost £600 tho!!!

if I had £700 to spend on a bike then I think this is what I'd buy. have some heat.
Wiggle only have one size 48 in stock, and their 'price match' includes the competitors delivery cost, so would be no cheaper anyway.

how does this compare to the decathlon b'twin 540 105 priced at 650 or the 700af priced at 750 please? buying a road bike in next week or so and merlin is not far from where i work! not had a bike since i was a kid so all advice accepted

I'd go with the felt if I was you, not a fan of the btwin build quality, some bits just look/feel cheap to me. This would be a fantastic first bike, and will last you for years, or until you get the bug and get greedy!!

take this with a pinch of salt but I have heard some QC issues with some of Felts own branded wheels. Usually resulting in a snapped spoke not long after taking ownership of the bike. Im not sure if this is still a thing but I thought i would mention as I was looking at getting a Felt bicycle in the past. They do make some really nice bikes

The B'Twin 700af is a very nice looking bike, I've seen them in store.
But I wouldn't pay full asking price for one, even with decathlons amazing customer service and 365 day quibble free return policy.
Therefore I'd take the felt, which is a well regarded fast frame (even if a little unforgiving). I actually replaced the seatpost with a Chinese carbon which has helped a little.

Personally I'd hold off as in the next few months there will be as good or better deals around. Happens each and every winter as they want to get rid of old stock.

A nice idea, but a little impractical.
The GT is a very impressive bike, I think I'd take it over the felt purely for the discs - just means consistent braking in all conditions.

Took a punt on one of these after seeing your recommendation. Read all the forums from the last few years and took the plunge.
Wish I could sit here and sing the bikes praises, but I can't...because Argos/Parcelforce have conspired against me and managed to ruin the bike before I got it in my hands! Box arrived with the rear cassette poking out of the packaging where the wheel had obviously moved and decided it needed more lateral space. The box was fully open on arrival, not by myself! Who knows what fell out or 'fell out'. As Argos only do refunds (pffff), I had to make a fresh order. Managed to bag the last one available. If this one gets damaged in transit I will have no choice but to unleash a personal, one man scathing daily attack on Argos via social media. Watch this space!

That really is a bummer, sorry to hear of your woes. Hope the replacement arrives intact, luckily mine arrived perfectly packaged otherwise would not of recommended. It's a proper bargain, and ready to go out of the box. The only thing I changed were the tyres to gp4000s. Good luck

Fingers crossed! I read back through some of the feedback and another person received a broken example. My 'replacement' hasn't been shipped yet. They better well not just patch up the returned one and send it back out. I will be furious!

Never said that. Every road user has a duty of care to everyone else on the road. Of course there are cyclists who ride dangerously, but the issue with cycling safety on the roads of the U.K. is far more rooted in the attitudes and actions of car (and other vehicle) drivers than it is the cyclists. Even if every cyclist rode perfectly there would still be plenty of drivers getting wound up, throwing abuse, driving to intimidate, etc.

Bummer. I bought one of these to add to my collection and now it's my main bike and I ride it to work most days and into some pretty decent Strava times as well.
The only thing I've changed out were tyres, saving about 200g, a proper shimano crankset and external BB as I wanted to move to 165mm cranks for a knee problem and a new saddle. Probably saved 500g in total and the bike is awesome. Flipped the stem for a more relaxed position and that's it. The frame and forks are pretty nice and absorb a load of road buzz although I've had a couple of chips I've had to cover with laquer but that can happen to any bike.
When I've destroyed my Sora groupset I'll stick 105 on it and then probably be done upgrading. The r500s are pretty bullet-proof for today's poor roads and you're spending a lot to save not much weight if you change the wheels.
In short I thoroughly recommend the CP50. It won't get the Bianchi crowd drooling at the café but to me it's more motivating catching people on a cheap bike.

Oh just to add, the bike performed perfectly on a Cherbourg last weekend covering about 100 miles. I even saw a lad ride up the stage 2 cherbourg finish of the tour de France on a CP50 when we were over there at the beginning of July!!

Standard Hollowtech 2, 68mm with a Sora 165mm crankset. Used one spacer on the drive side to match the chainline up the factory one, which was shifting ok out of the box. Didn't have any facing up issues, seems perfectly flat for external brackets.
I did read somewhere that frame and forks are used in something else (maybe a Mekk?) and it's sold with a better groupset, so I guessed that an external one would probably fit with no facing issues anyway.
