Saw this deal and thought it was a good buy considering the features. Sony camera and fingerprint technology. The spec I've pasted but have a google round for the reviews.
Meet The S1
The Elephone S1 is a premium, high-quality phone at a low cost. With all the features of a top-quality smartphone and a stunning display and camera you can't go wrong with this phone!
Remarkable Sony Camera
The 13MP Sony camera in the S1 supports 1080P video shooting along with enhanced photography effects. The Sapphire crystal lens covering the camera is built to higher hardness tolerences to better protect the lens from falling and scratching.
360 Degree TouchID Fingerprint Sensor
Equipped with a 360 degree touch identification sensor, the Elephone S1 can accurately unlock upon touch no matter what direction your finger is on the sensor.
Can't believe no one's said it should be OK for trunk calls...

Not unreasonable to expect better spec at £70 when a £75 phone fulfilled by Amazon has Android 6, twice the RAM at 2GB, twice the storage at 16GB, all the UK 4G bands (unlike the Elephone), fingerprint ID, fast charge, etc. It would be difficult not to justify the £5 difference, unless 5.5" screen is 0.5" too big. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01KF41B0S/ in gold. Amazon also fulfill the blue & white options at same £75 delivered.
Delivery Estimated between Tue. 11 Oct. and Wed. 2 Nov. :/

Seriously though, not sure why you would buy this instead of a Moto G 3rd Gen at a similar price.

Hello Does anyone know of a reasonable spec phone, max 13cm in length, preferably less, that can be bought for around £100. I am not interested in games or watching films on it, just phone calls and whatsapp and a bit of internet.
Thanks

there are those crappie alcatel pixie 3.5 phones which can be bought for around 20-30 quid depending wether it's on offer. They are no good for gaming. but will be fine for calls and Whatsapp viber skype etc but it only hs back camera. it has gps which why I use it to keep track of my kids when they go off to play and if they lose it its not a big loss.

Only 1gb ram and Android 5.1. If it was 2gb or more ram and Android 6.0 it would have been ok.

I know right? also the Gear VR isnt compatible with it, there's no phase or laser focus. Storage needs to be 64GB these days to be worth considering and battery really should be 3500mAH+. Also no quick charging 3 is deal breaking on its own. I'm not sure what the support and aftercare is like, do they have shops around the country like Apple do for aftersales? That's pretty much required tbh. You're also going to want 4 year warranty incase you hit any problems. I think it should run iOS as well.
I dont understand why they didn't include an FM transmitter, Retina scanner and an octa core processor.
If they upgraded those things and kept the price the same it would be hot from me, but as it stands. Its cold. Missing too many key features TBH.

That does sound better but that rather assumes the camera is up to scratch, by the way remember that a 64bit processor requires on average 50% more memory than a 32 bit processor, so it's not like you're doubling the specification, but it is better.

No it doesn't, you might need 2GB to do what you want on it, but Android itself will work fine for phone calls and a lot of applications in considerably less memory. The amount of minimum amount of memory required to run Android 6.0 on a device with a 64-bit processor and a small/normal screen at 560dpi or more is 1824MB, but it drops to as low as 424MB with a 280dpi screen with a 32bit processor.
This is incidentally the same for 5.1 and specified by Google themselves, quite why they use a DPI figure is a bit puzzling since number of pixels is the important figure, i.e. size + density need to be taken into account, quite what they mean by small or normal is anyone's guess but that's Google's specification.
As far as I can tell the screen is XHDPI and it's a 32-bit processor, which according to the specification requires a minimum of 512MB.

You'd be better off with the p6000 pro 3gb ram 16gb ROM octacore which can be had on eBay for around 20 quid more. The phone in this deal is not 4g.

When his phone runs out memory and gives memory errors, he will know what crap phone you bought for him. Better install clean master on his phone and ask him to run it when he gets memory errors.

Only if you browse the net on your phone for calls texts and whatsapp these specs are fine, wouldnt go the elephone route though. My father is still on a 1st gen moto g and it does everything he would ever need until the battery gives out.

I would not. There are minimum hardware requirements. In case of Android phone it is 2gb ram at least . Buy this you will waste your 70 quid and get a crap phone.

Some of us are very happy with a budget phone offering these specs... A **** lumia costs around this price without half of the specs and limited apps. If only we could have everything we desire.... *Goes to live in a dreamworld.* However, all inputs are welcomed.

If it came with 2GB and 6.0, sam_of would tell us it needs 3GB and 6.1, it's almost as though he's a bot, reliably jumping into every post about a phone/tablet/PC with the same story, doesn't seem to worry about the cost or the fact that some people are more than happy not running memory guzzling apps.
