A baseball cap that can be worn sideways or backwards, a snazzy shell suit/tracksuit and then magnetise your car and drive it through Halfords

No way is that worth £124. I only see it on their own website. Ebay and amazon.

I was thinking that since they name them all with power levels far beyond what they are capable of. and all their amps have the same stupid copy pasta bit about the PMW power supply. It's PWM.

this will only provide 160w of power at 4ohms or 250w at 2ohms (more sensitive and usually more expensive subs) it's not bad for £30 but bare in mind the age old saying "you get what you pay for" ..
if you expect quality you'll have to pay for it. mono subs are more likely to be around the 150 ish price point at least (alpine or kenwood are a good brand to go for)

Very true. You wany to go for known brand. At the worst vibe and other from halfords.. then you have alpine, jbl, kenwood or clarion (i never liked sony sound system apart from head units). Competition level you have directed, kicker, mtx, rockford forsgate.
Anyone just buying a mono amp will have bass drowning their normal sound. Youd need to power other channels too. I had a directed 5.1 amp in my Mitsubishi FTO 15yrs back with kicker solobarik L7 sub and alpine component speakers in front amd 6x9 at the back. It was very well tuned. People loved it in car shows.

Hi, I've got no experience with upgrading my sound for my car. My default sound system that came with car is not very good and want a cheap basic upgrade.
I assume I would need this amp, the subwoofer (maybe the one in post 1), + some speakers and cabling?
Anything else I would need to consider?
Thanks
