I recently fitted one of these onto a reference Radeon RX 480 and lowered the max temp at stock speeds to 60c (down from 85c+)
Details:
120mm PMW Fan;Pure copper base;Industrial-grade interface sealing process;Low evaporation pipe;High strength ceramic bearing.
Can Self-assembling double 120mm cooling fans(one fan in the package).
120mm x 27mm aluminum fins;20 mm thickness fan, more suitable for HTPC.
Bionics white LED breathing lamp above the pump.
Make sure 120mm fan holes already existing in the case can be installed.
Oh that's good then. Gosh did not know that the VRMs could get so hot. Thanks

I bought the 240t version from the ebuyer deal a few weeks ago for 34.99, super quiet, great cooler

Would I be able to put this on my GTX 970 in a Dell XPS 8700?

It's not listed on a compatibility list for the:
NZXT Kraken G10
Corsair HG10 N970
So nope.

Which 970 do you have? Mine runs super cool anyway so I would be surprised if you needed to

Hmm , well if your talking about the one I bought maelstorm 240t , which is different to the one that has been posted , then I would say No , I mounted mine to the top of my case .

I am fairly sure you can buy a Watercooler bracket for most graphics cards , I think Kraken do one

As I said before and in the earlier post in this thread, the brackets you can buy aren't compatible with this cooler!

don't cheap out on an unknown brand watercooler... get something from corsair who have a decent warranty that covers your whole system should it leak.

I've got one of these in my PC and it's great. Got it last time they were cheap and I had some Amazon credit.
Mine had smooth pipes too, not the ridged ones. EDIT: Seems like mine is the Maelstrom 120, not 120k. :disappointed:

Just ordered a RX 480 8gb reference model from the Amazon Warehouse deal. Thinking of tagging on an affordable cooler onto it but am wary about the efforts involved. Anyone done it before that can give advice?
Edit: Just realised the OP modded this cooler onto the 480 so it's probably not classed as an 'easy' job ;p

I used these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nylon-Phillips-Cross-Machine-Screws/dp/B012TCI878 to attach the heatsink as the spacing of the holes on the card is about 1mm different to the cooler and metal bolts would be a struggle to fit. These nylon ones bend just enough to get it to fit snuggly.
