this is the normal price right, so cheap but not a deal? I ordered some of these a while ago, went to pick them up and returned then right there and then. These are absolutely no good if you require any type of accuracy at all. ended up getting some chrome bad ones from drew fix,
in fairness if you didn't know you wanted them, then these are prob OK!

funnily enough, i DO own this set... hence my statements...
i trained as furniture designer in good ol' poly days and we had to make our own furniture so i reckon a BAHons and fifteen years of self employed trader qualifies me.
as i said, they're fine for bashing about and they'll do you to notch up a noggin but i wouldn't use these on anything where i couldn't slap in some tout pret or similar to make up for the innacuracies. the metal's just too impure and a bit soft... there are no metal collars to prevent splits on the handle and it's generally just for carpentry rather than anything quality. hell, it'd not make a great job of fitting a door lock and hinges. in my day, we used to check the sharpness of a blade by running it up your arm... if it could cut the hairs then you were good to go.
does that sound qualified enough?

I wrote something to help with this point, but it didn't post for some reason.
I use a very similar set in my woodworking and they are ideal. 99% of people are doing work that does not require master craftsmen level tools. Either way, any half decent chisel will sharpen up easily and quickly and be perfect for most, if not all, usage. Paul Sellers - a master woodworker for 40 years who teaches and has pieces he's made in the Whitehouse - uses chisels from Lidl or Aldi in his schools. His video on how to sharpen even these cheap makes is what I follow and my cheapo ones are razor-sharp as a result.

if you want quality precision chisels that will last and don't look like they were made in a chinese side street by a company that normally knocks out kaseo watch straps, then look elsewhere. if you want something you can play splits with and take with you on a friday night pub stabbing then these'll do fine...

... There is almost always someone who claims inexpensive items are rubbish just because they are not expensive, but has no experience of the item itself. As I commented above, I have owned exactly the same set as this one (at that time sold by Screwfix) for about 8 years and it has been absolutely fine: used dozens (if not hundreds) of times and the chisels still sharpen up well, I'm sure they will be perfectly good for at least another decade yet. I was pleased to see that Wowhats had exactly the same experience as I have.
In this case your comment is unhelpful to anyone who might consider purchasing: you have no experience of this item (whereas Wowhats and I do).
I have added some heat, this a a really good price for perfectly good tools.

I have this exact same set for over ten years purchased originally from Screwfix. The blown case is the same colour and the chisel sizes identical. Mine are a bit worse for wear, loose handles and they have been re-sharpened and used over and over again.£7-34 is a steal, shame I don't have a B and Q near me.

... me also. I thought I recognised these as being exactly the same as the set I bought from Screwfix about 8 years ago. The chisels have been used many times, sharpened often and are still perfectly usable. This is a really good price for quite good quality tools so I've added some heat.
