TWELVE HOURS! That's how long it took someone to make this joke. TWELVE! We should all be ashamed of ourselves.

Turn it over, do it on the bottom where all the tasty brown stuff is. Daddy used to call them Australian pancakes. He also used to drink beer out of a shoe and say "I can't drink a yard of ale, but I can drink a foot!"

Of all the kitchen gadgets that would end up in the cupboard after a couple of weeks, this one would muscle it's way to the back corner in record time.

As someone that isn't bad at cooking, makes pancakes very often, and definitely every weekend for my nephews - lots of people will say a frying pan is better but...This thing is pretty good. It has an even heat across the entire hot plate, which means it all gets done at the same time - we don't have any electric hobs at home so sometimes the gas hob can make the pan hotter in one area than the other. It's also good to keep a consistent heat and doesn't get "too hot" (if you leave the frying pan on the hob, sometimes the next pancake is on a too hot pan). You obviously cannot flip the pancakes, but keep a spatula handy and you'll be fine. It comes with this little wooden crepe spreading thingymajig, which helps get an even thin spread.
Anyway - it's pretty good. And for 11.50 even better.

It would be great if you need to make them all the time or something. I wonder who on here has the most of these gadgets ..... I want to know how they fit them in their kitchen

Mine take up a full shelving in my kitchen and also kitchen counter space. In a small cupboard in my kitchen. On top of kitchen cupboards. Hidden under my table in my living room. On shelving in the passage. Under my bed and used for resting things on in my bedroom. Yes, I am a gadget freak and I have a problem. No, I'm not getting rid of any and no I don't use half of it.:laughing::laughing:

Brilliant deal, it is £25 on Amazon. I bought one in Morrisons previously for £19.99 and thought that was a bargain so £11.50 is amazing. I kept mine in the box for ages never getting round to using it, but was persuaded to use it recently by my young nephew and niece. It really is a great product making thin professional crepes in minutes. Lovely for Christmas presents too.

A fun little game I like to have at food markets or festivals where there is a crepe stall is to walk up to the counter, preferably in a long queue, and loudly proclaim 'Smells like crepe in here'..

Not difficult at all, but it won't make thin, French-style crepes - it'll make thicker British-style pancakes (or thick, fluffy American-style pancakes if you use the right mix). Depends what you want to make.

Glad/sad to know it's not in Cambourne as that saves me a journey. I read about a kitchen with an appliance garage once in ideal home (or similar) and live for the day I have a house big enough for one....

You can make a crepe in a frying pan absolutely no problem at all..you don't need a pathetic gadget to do it for you.

these are great - bought the OH one (cost about £30) and he uses it loads. can make really thin crepes on this, don't know how but way better than when you make them in a frying pan! at £11.50 it's a steal!

You can easily use an old record player if you want to, even a CD, DVD or Blu ray player can do mini crepes at a push, give it a try and let us know how it went (and provide some pics)
