hot. I can imagine that I have a chip in my head after being kidnapped by a mega corporation and down the streets with my gauss gun looking for rival agents.

yes, you may well wonder why. The OP created 2 deal posts, I for a drill and 1 for a screwdriver. This thread was originally for a drill, but the link went to a screwdriver. Rather than fix the link someone changed the title to tidy it up (after my post).

Complete junk! My dad had one. One of the capacitors blew up and melted insides. You can't replace the battery which will die.
There's a reason why this is so cheap. Buy cheap and you buy twice, invest in your tools!

These are terrible. It will work ok at first, it will go in the drawer for a couple of months you will remember it again get it out and the battery will be shot. I know it's cheap but it's really not work it

Seems like Argos is trying to make up some money they lost to hukd from those thrustmaster steering wheels a few months ago, by selling this junk...

Ikea sell a Li-ion battery screwdriver for about £7, yes it is dearer than this but well worth the extra as it keeps a charge and can be used for quite sometime before needing recharging.
Thanks OP.

As per the Homebase thread, the battery on this seems fine provided you are careful when re-charging it.

fine for saving time building basic flat packs, you don't need massive torque as most people tighten by hand anyway
thank you just ordered  ikea wardrobe and 2 sets of drawers to put together tomorrow, this will be handy

Thanks OP! It seems to get more than enough half-decent reviews to convince me to buy one, bearing in mind my expectations of its limits.

I have a Bosch one which is very good (deal here at some point I imagine).
As long as it has reasonable torque and a decent battery life it should be good for say flat pack furniture, infact building anything say Ikea these are a godsend.

This is my point. Was at a friend's BBQ last week and she needed some help with an Ikea garden table. Has a slightly better quality version of this Argos one, that was fully charged and died after screwing in three 6cm screws with zero torque. Hence, useless.
