Don't be, I use Very when the price is right and make use of their payment schemes, their statements are 100% transparent and remind you every month of when you must clear the balance on each individual item to remain interest free. There's lots of sharks out there waiting for people to fail but Very ain't one of them in my experience.

And no, I don't work for them!

Just to update the people who didn't get the £100 credit.

I went to trading standards and opened a case with them. I went back to Very via twitter with my reference on from trading standards. Only then did they start taking this seriously. I got two letters through the post, first one saying this has been escalated to management level and i will have response within two weeks. I received another letter yesterday with a grovelling apology and that their system made an error. For the inconvenience they have credited the £100 and also added an extra £65 goodwill gesture.

I still have not received the £100 credit. Been on chat, been fobbed off.

Called in 4 times so far, first time was last week and i was told it has been passed to management and will have a callback in a week, obviously no call back and no credit after a week.

Called in 3 times today. First time was a pickup and instant put on hold waited 20 mins before giving up. Second time, someone answered, explained situation, he hung up on me once he started reading my account. Third time someone answered, explained situation again she asked for me to hold the line and she placed her phone on the desk without putting me on hold and left me hanging for 45 minutes, i could hear all the other operators in the background talking but she never came back to me even with me repeatedly saying hello.

I don't know what else i can do, any suggestions?

I'd love to hear from someone/anyone who has actually managed to get the £50/£100. This whole "you didn't select BNPL" scam stinks. Still very tempted to place another order and record the whole process to see if it's still like it.

24 Oct 16 #168
Looks like we're all in the same boat ! We won't let them get away with it though. When I spoke to them on Live chat few weeks ago they also said that I haven't selected the BNPL12 so I sent him the screenshot with my statement which actually shows that BNPL12 and he said that they are sorry and indeed I will receive my £100 soon. Still haven't got it though.

Just went on chat, the unhelpful person denied all knowledge of the deal, i pasted links to chat transcript and the screenshot of the offer, still nothing she could do. Eventually she replied that I hadn't placed the order on BNPL, I told them I had and had a shot of the checkout process to prove it. I gave up in the end and will now call them directly. BTW, they kept asking for a promo code, it looks like they don't even understand how their own promotions work. I'm glad I haven't paid for this yet! Should have stuck with John Lewis...

20 Oct 16 #165
Ditto here. Order 100% placed with BNPL (I still have the screenshot) but it didn't go through as BNPL. I contacted them when I got the first bill and it was changed to BNPL no problem. I'm now contacting them to find out what's happening with the £100 rebate. This seems like a good scam to me, fiddle the system so nobody can make a BNPL purchase and then claim the buyer must have made a mistake at checkout time and then refuse to honour the agreement. Would be interested to know how many people made a BNPL purchase only to find this wasn't the case once the order went through.

I also have this issue, got an invoice for £30. Opened chat and queried why i need to pay when i bought on BNPL 12 months. They said i didn't select BNPL when i placed the order when i 100% know i did. They are saying that i will also not receive the £100 credit. Can't say i was warned before placing this order. Absolute cowboys. Needs taking to trading standards.

A really good deal. Heat.

Please be advised, this is NOT a PC/laptop replacement. I have a friend who bought one thinking it was and is now a very vocal anti-Apple advocate. I think what pushed him over the edge was how you charge the "pencil" as he kinda had an accident with it.

Which to be fair if you look at it makes you go "WTF Apple, was Jony Ive on leave when this was approved?!"

The credit back offer hasn't got a promo code as it's automatically applied to eligible bnpl orders for items that appear on the list. In the past I have placed an order and then contacted customer service via online chat to apply a voucher code and it has worked BUT they do check the code and its terms so if your code excludes apple then you can try but most likely be refused.

Spoke with customer services to confirm if we can use a voucher code with the £100 promotion.

I did apply the £25 voucher and when I asked for the £100 as well, here's what they had to say:

I've just had a chat with my manager and had a read over the terms and conditions, because you've applied a £25 voucher code to the order it does override it, however, what I can do is email our Account Support team and see if they can remove the £25 voucher so you can have the iPad offer deal as it is better than the £25 off, or we can cancel the order and you can reorder with the BNPL to get the iPad offer. Really sorry that we're unable to have two promotional offers on the item for you.[/quote]

You get £100 credited to your Very account, which you can use towards paying for this over the 12 months. I think the reference to "cash back" was that John Lewis do not match money back offers like this, also they do not match offers from online only sellers, they have to have a physical store.
In the end, you still get the £100 to pay towards the cost of IPad purchase,
sjd101
5 Sep 16 #114
Is it cash back? I spoke to them and I have read T&C. I get the impression that you just get £100 credit on your account which you spend on the Very site. Can anyone confirm if this is correct or its cash back?

Merely escalating a complaint to the ombudsman does not result in a cost to the company. The fee is payable if the problem can't be sorted right away; the majority of cases are. There also isn't a fee for the first 25 cases a year that require further investigation.

I really wouldn't under estimate this and how soft companies can be. I am almost at nearly a year of taking ID mobile through the ombudsman for £20! Despite the overwhelming evidence against ID mobile (emails, telephone records) they are still dragging heels, failing to deliver on resolutions and still trying to deny. As a result Ombudsman are now instructing them to pay an additional £22.50 for delays and inconsistencies. It has opened my eyes as to what is perceived the fight that even Ombudsman are having with them and struggling. At the time if i had known it would take almost a year for 20 quid i don't think i'd have bothered.

Is the 32gb enough storage as far as updates etc goes?
andysmoore to bambam89
4 Sep 16 #46
Not IMO. If you're going to be using it to its full potential then it's not enough storage. And if you're not using it to its full potential get something else. For less.
StillTheFlyest to bambam89
4 Sep 16 1 #51
It depends what you do. I have a 16gb and haven't really had too many problems with managing memory. With the iPhone 32gb is used to run out of space taking photos when out and about.

If you store photos, movies, many games at a time then you'll need more.
tom6195

What's the likelihood of a new iPad Pro being annoy bed on weds? How long has this one been out?
elditig to tom6195
4 Sep 16 #43
The large one was announced in September and released in November 2015
The 9.7 inch was announced and released in March 2016

Chances of a new one when the new iPhone is announced? Who knows. Some people say yes, some say no, not till 2017 to give cHnca for more development.
StillTheFlyest to tom6195
4 Sep 16 #50
Very unlikely there will be a new one announced this year, this was released in march. But the iPad Air 2 is now out of stock which was the cheaper option to this. So there could be a price cut on this. But you'll have enough time to send this back if you had to if there is something new.

I hate to not pay things up front. How exactly does this work? They make you pay it in installments? Like it seems that you can't pay this off til the end of october anyway so that the £100 credit goes towards this rather than anything else. How long afterwards do they hound you with phonecalls and catalogues too? I remember 5 years ago I bought something on a HUKD deal from Very and it was bloody annoying.Almost seems worth paying £50 more through Flubit or Tesco to avoid all this.
RiverDragon8 to montblanc
4 Sep 16 2 #48
If you feel that way as soon as you get the tablet you can pay it off completely £403.98 in the first month. I've been with Very over 14 years (Littlewoods before) and never experienced what you said. They will ring you asking if your happy with your product and will try to sell you after care but you just politely decline.

This is a superb deal if the discount is really available for iPads.
recently bought an iPad Pro 9.7 and it's just fantastic.so powerul and fast.
elditig
4 Sep 16 1 #39
This is what it says on the New Customer 10% off page:
"New customers only. The discount cannot be used with other codes or on sale items, Financial Services products and delivery charges."
So what is this £100 .... It isn't a code, maybe it doesn't qualify as a sale item, but is it a financial service product as it is BNPL with an interest element if you do not pay within the specified time.......

Just contacted very its one per account, got my partner to open a credit account got 10% off first credit order plus £100 to be credit back so a brand new iPad Pro 32gb for £349 I think is one mighty hot deal... Thanks op
elditig to teaganmarieravetta
4 Sep 16 1 #37
I thought it says that the 10% off for a new account cannot be used with any other offer?
Mercurius
4 Sep 16 #29
So it's a credit to your Very account, rather than cash back. Presumably they don't apply it to your balance until you've paid for the iPad/computer in full? i.e. the saving is deferred until you buy a second item from Very?
NO1FAN to Mercurius
4 Sep 16 1 #30
According to the chat I had with them earlier the cash back is credited to the account and can be used as payment towards the iPad. I have the transcript of the conversation emailed to me as proof as well.
AJ92 to Mercurius
4 Sep 16 1 #35
You can get credits and payments allocated to bnpl orders which reduces the price left to pay on that item.

4 Sep 16 #19
Make sure you take a screen shot of the offer - very did a 10% cash back late last year on Apple products and I had to chase them for the cash back to be applied - they weren't going to pay up but I haD the screenshot so they eventually paid up!

4 Sep 16 #26
After my own conversation on facebook (thanks stuart1955 for making me paranoid), I was told it was strange that an ipad would receive such an offer and they would be clarifying it with marketing. Apparently if it is deemed to be an error, then the cashback payouts would be nullified and as it's Very (given their reputation) I'm inclined to believe them. Suppose it's best to know before taking the plunge.
Mersey_Steve to StolenDiagram
4 Sep 16 1 #28
I spoke to their Customer Services earlier who confirmed that iPads are included. As 'all calls are recorded' this is sufficient evidence for me. As the item needs to be purchased on BNPL IF any complaint need to be raised then it would be escalated to the Financial Ombudsman Service if I didn't get the desired resolution that I was looking for from Very.

It costs a company over £500 when a complaint is escalated in this way so I'm sure if there were any issues Very would look to offer a suitable resolution.

I've been with very for years and not had any major problems. Deals like this normally state in the deal T&Cs that Apple products are excluded if it is the case. If it's not mentioned then I'd say it's included. As other people gave said, save a copy of the page as a backup.

What you can do is order it BUT save the image of the offer which doesn't state Ipads/Apple not included and also save the page with the products which includes the ipad. If they later refuse then show then the evidence: shows ipad and ipads/Apple excluded not stated. So it's been missold .

Better still record the web page with phone where click the offer and ipads appear etc...

What makes you think this? If you click the link on the offer it takes you to the 'computing' page where Apple products, including iPads are listed. I have also just spoken to them and the lady said that iPads were included...I know you can't always trust what they say on the phone, but she seemed quite confident.

Good find  .

I'm always wary of the 0% deals, as they rely on a decent number of people to cock up the repayments (and that makes me assume they'll make it arbitrarily difficult to repay this in full). But if it all works out, then that's a big fat reduction on an iPad.
