This Anker sale is a bit of a scam. Use camel camel camel and see the price history of the items. They inflated them massively before the sale and in fact all items I checked have been available cheaper (sometimes considerably) prior to this big 5th anniversary sale.
And of course I'm aware this may well be the cheapest they are currently. Just pointing out the sale is a bit of a farce

And it was delivered this afternoon (48 hours after ordering) on free 3-5 business days delivery. Going by the reviews I was expecting it to be fantastc, but on initial impressions I would class it as very good and for £16 I'm pretty pleased with my purchase - certainly not complaining. I have only played a few songs via the 3.5mm connection from Spotify on my Nook HD+ tablet (which itself has a pretty impressive speaker for a fairly slim tablet). I felt David Guetta's Lovers on the Sun and Flo Rida's GDFR (lots of bass) were pretty good tracks to test the speaker and it certainly filled a 4m x 5m room really well with little noticeable distortion unless I had my Nook's volume at maximum. Considerably better than both the Nook's speaker and my other wireless bluetooth speaker (which itself is also pretty impressive for its size and ~£6 cost from eBay a year or so ago). For £16, I don't think anybody woud be disappointed with the sound quality and volume and most would be pretty impressed. It looks and sounds like a quality piece of kit and has the packaging to match.
Addendum: I have just tried it via bluetooth and I am revising my opinion - it *IS* fantastic. The sound seems clearer and louder. I'm now wondering if you could pair 2 of these speakers simultaneously - that would produce pretty awesome sound, IMO.

Yes it does have a light. Yet another bright LED to annoy. It's just at the bottom in the middle so I've stuck a small piece of black tape over it which isn't really noticeable and hides it.
I leave mine powered on permanently with the Chromecast - yes I needed 2 USB power sources so it's ready to cast anytime.

No it isn't. It's prone to low volume distortion and it's way over-tuned bass wise.

of course. But you'd expect a "big sale" day to at least have the cheapest prices yet for some great bargains. But they've done much better deals in the past. It's just not really a sale given the fact they're trying to increase their brand awareness by using their 5th anniversary to promote themselves.

Well, the Bose in my limited experience is over rated and over priced...but don't get me wrong, it ain't rubbish....check out the original Creative Roar. I got mine for £89 during one of Amazons spiffing deals.....if you want WIFI streaming and bluetooth then go for the August WS300 speaker. 19 Sep 16#73
Beware, some of these speakers, as they lack a display, emit quite a loud sound (or voiceover) to indicate when switched on/off, or change of status - this usually cannot be switched-off or reduced in volume. If this might drive you mad (like it does me), check reviews/ask other owners before buying.

I have the next one up from this and that lacks bass. But I can't imagine any of these micro Bluetooth speakers have much in the way of bass though, the tiny speakers are never going to be able to put out much.
people seem to way over exaggerate how good these things are. They are a rip off considering what the are made up of as well.
They make a good kitchen speaker and if you look at them in that respect you won't be disappointed.
I am curious to see how much better something like the kit sound soul 2 is which has a third little bit bigger speaker for bass. even when it was at £60 i thought it was still a bit steep. it's usual price is just silly.

I disagree?, that's a false economy way of thinking?.
So called 'Sale' items are called such because they're traditionally meant to be 'cheaper' than it's otherwise regular price right?, otherwise why for anyone (both Retailers and/or Customers) to bother with such things in the first place?.
Much like this forthcoming longggggg Black Friday Weekend, if people weren't able to get at least £15 off an Amazon Fire 7" Tablet (like that of what they've been currently able too 2 years in a row, from it's current £50 odd you can literally get it for on Amazon's own Web Site Today, then hardly anyone would bother waiting the 2 Months odd to get it in November instead, would they?, everyone would alllllll be clamoring to get their piece now right?, or ..... ) :-)
It's classed as a 'Sale Item' for a reason? .. false, and/or dodgy Marketing as per Company to Company aside and all? (as only those respective Companies per say can answer that one for us, etc, etc?).

After weighing up this speaker and the Soundbot SB571 I've plumped for the Soundbot. Reasons? Better bass (it's a 2.1 speaker), higher powered (2 x 6W) and cheaper (£16 vs £21). Admittedly you have to sacrifice a bit of battery life (~12hr vs ~20hr), but that's plenty long enough for me. Not so many reviews for the Soundbot, but all very positive (I've discounted the single anonymous, 1-line, 1-star review which is completely at odds with all of the others) except for a couple of people reporting some Bluetooth issues (not planning on using BT, personally). I don't have Prime so I also took the opportunity to buy an 8-port Gigabit switch (http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/netgear-gs308-100uks-8-port-gigabit-ethernet-10-100-1000-mbps-switch-13-99-prime-2503176) which I've been after for a while in order to qualify for free delivery 8-)

I just want something I can charge and connect to the CCA without the speaker having its own independent on/off switch. I want to put in on a high shelf so all I'd need to do is connect to the CCA and off I go. plus no humming noise is a must. might take a pop and see what its like.
at the moment ive got a admittedly cheap portable speaker where it has its own independent switch which, when left on, makes a humming noise. so I have to switch it off when not is use to stop the humming noise so its not loosing any valuable charge.

Initially I powered both the speaker and the Chromecast from an Anker 6 port USB power adapter and was annoyed that there was a slight hum. I changed the power source of the Chromecast to use it's own mains adapter plug and the hum stopped.
Great little speaker when paired with Chromecast, multiple of them give you sync'd multi-room audio I wouldn't say it lacked bass (for it's size) and it is considerably better than another one I paid 20quid for : I bought the other speaker first, set it up in kitchen, bought the Anker on sale and set up in living room - the difference walking between the rooms with Chromecast playing the same track using sync'd audio was noticeable.

Edit: the discount did apply when I retried
Bought two last week, and the sound is surprisingly good.
Unfortunately a few (including mine) have been having battery issues.
And of course I'm aware this may well be the cheapest they are currently. Just pointing out the sale is a bit of a farce
Also use this in the kitchen and have no complaints. Battery life has been great too.
