It's the equivalent of 200 frames per second, so should be alright... (that's a massive over-simplification, but means it's perfectly respectable for a 'light' gamer)
It won't be as good as a G-Sync monitor, or the quality of a 1ms response monitor.. but it's £90. It's a steal..

Just picked one up - can confirm it has hdmi, dvi and vga connections - also comes with UK and EU plugs and VGA cable.
it's 5 ms response time. Is this OK for gaming and can you tell the difference with a monitor with < 5ms?

Worth checking what model Tesco is actually shifting is as it may have 1ms response time. The 5ms K242HQLB model quoted by Tesco may be exclusively for the South African market, whereas the same model without suffix B (K242HQL) is 1ms and may be for the GB market, not to be confused with K242HQLCbid (UM.UX6EE.C04) and other similar variations. Clearly worth checking / being careful !

Please advise why this isn't a deal, i.e. can you recommend better monitors for a similar or better price?
This is a genuine query (not merely a challenge to your assertion).

There are 2 with the same model name, the Tesco one (checked with them too) is the Model Name: K242HQLB Part Number: UM.UX6EE.B04. BUT according to Acer site it does not have a display port, just DVI and VGA, I have checked with Acer this does have a VESA wall mount. I have ordered one and will let you know tomorrow what it actually does come with. The other one (not Tesco model) is: Part Number: UM.UX6EE.B08

Hi, would be keen to know what you think is? i.e. what monitor you'd recommend for under £100. Wouldn't be needed for games (only for a silver-surfer with aging eyes).
thank you. i'm assuming this is better than the one posted?

That one at PC World looks great for the price and I was thinking about buying it, but I cannot find stock anywhere.
I think PC World/Currys price their out of stock items very cheap to draw people in, trying finding one though!

no point posting that, saying it's better...and it's a ghost monitor!
Just bought Tesco monitor, great timing for us!
Thanks OP!

Can anyone confirm that this has HDMI input? As the other poster said, this part number being sold via Tesco is not listed as having HDMI on the Acer website.

Saw a You Tube video of unboxing etc of this model and it showed hdmi, dvi and vga connections - I will be picking up my order from local Tescos in next hour or so and will confirm then.

No it does not, and even though I confirmed beforehand what model with Tesco customer services, they had the wrong info. The model supplied is K242HQLB Part Number: UM.UX6EE.B05
Its not really worth getting any way. Colours are washed out despite trying to calibrate them, I have a 10 year old Samsung 2232BW that is better than this. On its way back to tesco.

Can you use these monitors for Xbox ones? I've just ordered one and with it having HDMI assume it's the same as just connecting to a HDMI TV?

Except it has no speakers. So if you can use a separate audio output from the console to some other audio equipment you'll be fine. Audio output will be your only concern.

We used the optical output from the xbox 1. This goes to a optical to phono out converter and then to a amp.
