Plenty of people on HUKD have had negative experiences with Very, especially around them not honoring cashback and discounts, or initially honoring it and then taking it back off later without telling you

I need help! I can't decide between this one and http://www.very.co.uk/lenovo-ideapad-500-intelreg-coretrade-i5-processor-8gb-ram-1tb-hard-drive-156-inch-laptop-with-2gb-amd-radeon-r7-graphics-white/1600056150.prd
I only use it to browse, but am very impatient so it needs to be quick. My current laptop is great, really fast and can run loads of tabs in separate browsers, while I'm watching something etc, but something is wrong with the power socket (repair shop struggling!) and it gives me an excuse for a new one :stuck_out_tongue:. I've not had a large screen before, so not sure if it will bother me. I have had Acer but not Lenovo. The Lenovo one is heavier and has potentially a different graphics card. Most other stats seem similar apart from the 8gb RAM, one being DDR3L and the other DDR4. Any suggestions would help me weigh up what to do and thanks in advance.

what about going through a cashback site? will that impact the deal?

Not sure I trust the £100 cashback. There is nothing at the checkout stage to confirm the cashback has been applied. I am a new customer so also qualify for 10% off, and Quidco 2%. So with all discounts applied it would be a really good deal. But not willing to take the risk. Thanks anyway OP.

It's pretty straightforward, I don't understand why you would doubt this offer.

The term of the cashback state "This offer can’t be used in conjunction with other offers." So they wouldn't honour this with the 10% discount.

Can't use it with other offers (it's in the T&Cs) so it won't stack

"802.11ac Wi-Fi" .. I take it this Laptop is not backward compatible with Wi-Fi Routers that only support 802.11a/b/c/g/n then?, or .....

It will be, they are always backwards compatible.

Of course it is! Think about it for a milisecond, how many 802.11ac routers are there? Not that many, how many 802.11g/n routers are there, absolutely loads. Regardless of that 100% it's compatible.

Nice find if cashback is honoured otherwise price is too high for the spec of this laptop, although IMO with a screen as big as this it really needs to be full HD so you can fully utilise the space. I remember the last time I tried Very's cashback they declined it due to me trying to use a 10% off code in conjunction with the offer, so be warned if you are thinking of doing this.

Your right, this deal isn't for you. You should buy from a trusted retailer who you believe will not rip you off.

WTF. You really need to read my post! So, you will guarantee my cashback. Give me your bank details!

The money is guarantee if you have a credit account and you use the BNPL 12 months at 0%. It is really is that simple, your account with be credited with £100 by Oct 25th. I'm sorry if I can't make it any simpler than that.

And when they don't? You are stuck with the item, and no comeback as no acknowledgement anywhere during ordering process that you are going to receive the cashback. Why are you being such a dick?

Hey man. Who the feck rattled your cage. I gave you heat for the deal post.
Very can be VERY **** at customer service.
Title should show full price, cashback is not guaranteed and with Very I'd be wary.

Please don't take it personally as this is a good deal if the cashback is honoured. But I can see no way of seeing it being acknowledged anywhere during the checkout process. It should surely have some reference made to it.

How about no... That resolution at 17.3 inches is about as pointless a decision as you could make when building a laptop. What were they thinking! Also 1TB HDD should be replaced with a 128GB SSD. The machine will be slower and heavier than it could be.
