I managed twice using two separate emails, two separate IPs and two separate cards with no problems. Third time failed using another email and another IP but with one of the previous cards, this time it failed with "An error occurred" message.
Potentially identifying via card details as well?

for those having issues with vpns you will need to use a uk vpn as its only valid in the uk. also if someone else has used that ip try another or you will get an error also. as stated by others 3/4g on phone is good for a 2nd email if you dont want to go outside :P

To save all the VPN nonsense, do one off your PC and do the 2nd one off your smart phone but switch off the wifi so your are using the 3/4G mobile data. Given you an new IP address.
