Can you only order one or will it stack? Use multiple times?
kdk to alexfn
13 Sep 16#24
Doesn't stack so you get £6 off no matter how many you order. I wasn't able to use it multiple times (it said code already used) so it probably checks based on email address.

not a bad deal, but I couldn't purchase it as theres a problem with the picture, the ? block that the mushroom came from hasn't turned brown (like those blocks do once mario has punched them) so would irritate me every time I looked at it.
I was about to order but that max filesize is pathetic at 6mb, the smallest I can get my landscape in png is 20mb. No idea why they wan't such compressed images for a large canvas.

Decent price, but be wary as last time I ordered here the canvas arrived blurry, customer services were excellent offering to send me another canvas with a different picture free of charge, unfortunately it arrived just as blurry.

It sounds like your original file contains too much data / resolution. 20cm x 20cm @ 300dpi is 2362x2362 pixels, so anything beyond this is unnecessary for this canvas. Any 6-8 megapixel camera would produce enough raw resolution to satisfy a high quality image at this size.
When ordering photo services online, it's always best practice to set up your images according to the product you're buying. The canvas is 20cm x 20cm, so it means you may need to crop your image if it's not already square.
Providing the image is in focus and colour corrected, saving it at 2362x2362 pixels as a jpeg with compression level 9-12 (approx 1 - 4 mb) would result in the same quality canvas print as a 16mb lossless tif (also at 2362x2362). Remember that the canvas will be textured so artifacting (if any at all) is likely to be hidden. There is no tangible benefit to submitting a tif at this size, if anything it would be a poorer alternative to a jpg as it would take longer to upload/download.|
For closure you could put it to the test. Create a new blank document at 2362x2362 pixels. Paste on to this your landscape and, once happy with the positioning, save 2 versions, one as a level 10 jpg and one as a lossless tif.
Frivolously place 2 orders using these two images and see if there is any difference once the canvases are delivered.

I was referring to the link I quoted for the A1 canvas, close up a 6mb would resemble a minecraft picture with jpg compression of my landscape shot.
I doubt any of the professionals who I used to deal with as a printer engineer would ever consider using a jpg if they had a raw file and photoshop, fair enough with a point and shoot that only outputs a jpg.

ahaa, clarity is reading carefully! I failed to see your link to the larger canvas. My mistake.
Yeh, very limited with a point and shoot. However, I would expect a professionally converted raw file to print equally well exported as a level 11 jpg or a lossless tif. If the origination is the same, a tiny amount of compression wouldn't make a tangible difference in print (paper or printer type would have more of an impact). Still, as you said, if the option to use a tif is there why use anything else.

Mine arrived yesterday. Wash out colour and poor quality.
The file was a high quality, high resolution image which I've had printed before with excellent results.
