Single pole. Should I buy these or pay the extra for double pole?

The LAP sockets are pretty poor, Volex are worth the extra.

I bought some of these. They're OK, not great. Can be a bit fiddly to get plugs in.

Because they're not obsolete. In fact they are currently ubiquitous,
And when they do become obsolete, you can change your sockets in 10 minutes.

a single pole switch/socket only disconnects the Live wire when the switch is in the off position, whereas a double pole switch/socket disconnects the Nuteral and Live when the switch is in the off position.

I bought some of these as we are selling the house and wanting to add some finishing touches. They are a great price however hubby said that they were cheaper in feel than standard B and Q ones and fiddly to fit, but not impossible. However when fitted look great and no different to more expensive counterparts.

What brand were the B&Q ones?

I asked because I know both are available.

So from that answer I "presume" switching both the live and neutral off is safer. Therefore in the world of the sparky where regulations are there for our own protection I ask again why are they both available?
Maybe it's for the regulatory body to keep themselves in a job with another set of regulations to come in where single pole are no longer classed as safe enough.

Double is safer that's why.

i got these, but gotta say quality is a bit rubbish. done the whole gaff in the LAP black nickel less then 2years ago including switches, replaced min 6 already...have box of spares too for future as know will fail. Scratch and smudge easy too. All in all, look nice, but there are much better quality fixtures avble

I wouldn't want to do the job twice, what did you replace with
jinsta
28 Sep 161#25
I didnt! replaced like for like with same LAP stuff. Purp bought few boxes of spare incase they discontinue them. Issue is i done whole house matching so cant just flip a few to something else. Dimmer switches in this range are just as bad. If i was to bother doing again, would go for the std white jobbies, crabtree. LAP are china made i believe
