Just got an email from Anchor for two replacement codes even though the credit for the two I redeemed a while ago did not get removed (touch wood). So, overall, £2 for 2 butters and £9.96 of play credit. Good stuff!

Hi. Just get email with new codes from anchor.

Hi there,
We are sorry to hear that your Google Play account is showing £0 balance. This is due to a system error but as a loyal Anchor customer, we want to ensure you are reimbursed as quickly as possible. Here is the link and your replacement codes to credit your Google Play account:

Yes the promo codes did expire on the 30th Sept but the google credit should still be there as you say, however its disappeared. This is part of my argument, it appears to me that google have expired the credit (which was suppose to go on til 2017) rather than just the 'promo codes'.

4 Oct 16 #88
Hello, I don't think an e-mail from somebody that starts with 'Hi' and ends with 'Thanks!' with an exclamation mark should be taken seriously. Also it mentions codes throughout, what we had taken away was the cash that Google allowed from the codes it accepted. If it's that easy to take cash away I would be very wary of letting them have my cash or credit card details.
missionhall to missionhall
5 Oct 16 #91
Hello, I think we are getting 'promo codes' mixed up with Google credits. The Anchor codes had to be submitted by 30th September. You were then given another code to enter at the google play site. These were then changed into google credit to spend on books, music and games. So Google are right in saying that 'codes' were not valid after 30th September. The google 'cash' credit should be valid until 30th September 2017 as stated on the Anchor site.
I hope that makes sense.
chad7
5 Oct 16 #90
Your response to this should be that the partner running the promotional campaign clearly stated the expiration date as September 30th 2017. Funnily enough you cant provide the web cache link of that page anymore as its gone, I however took a screenshot of the page as evidence. Also state that Google did not provide any expiration dates on their terms and conditions or anywhere for this promotion.
chad7
5 Oct 16 #89
I was told by google support to contact anchor and then reply to google to let them know what they said as they are running the promotion. Anchor meanwhile are looking into it. Google's terms and conditions did not state a date of expiry

Hi

Thank you for your patience and reaching out about your Google Play promotional code.

I've looked into your account, and I'm sorry to have to report that this specific Google Play promotional balance has expired. I regret any inconvenience that this may cause you. As explained in our Terms and Conditions, Google Play promotional balance credits have expiration dates based on their promotional campaigns.

The campaign expiration date is the date until which the partner runs the promotional campaign. After that date, customers won't receive promo codes (or other rewards) from the retailer anymore and won't be able to redeem any unclaimed codes.

(For all the details, please see our Google Play Promotional Balance Terms and Conditions.)If you have any more questions, please reply to this email. I'm happy to help!

Thanks!
Nathan

Mine is still there too. I also made a purchase just after redeeming my codes ( a book, taking advantage of the £3 off offer)
dmn001
1 Oct 16 #82
My credit is still there and I redeemed 2 codes. (I did buy a 10p game just after redeeming - not sure if that made any difference).

Not so good stuff for those who lost credit. Here is a link to the archived snapshot of the page in Google cache: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:https://www.anchorgoodstuff.co.uk/do-stuff/list/get-249-google-play-voucher-code/ (click terms and conditions) It clearly states expires 2017, so I think Anchor is to blame for providing the wrong information. Hope you can get a refund for all the butter or Google credit refunded.

BAD news guys. I have redeemed quite a few and had £20 ish quid worth of credit with Google but as it turns out entire balance dropped to £0 when I checked earlier today! I already contacted Google about it and they confirmed the credit expired on 30 September 2016 not 30 September 2017 as stated in Anchor NoT So Good Stuff T&C.
I'd liek to take it to Google Customer Services too for not advising me that a credit is going to expire (decent company would send an email, right?) :disappointed:
Anyone else has experienced their google Play credit redeemed with Anchor codes being wiped in last 24 hours?

Agreed but from what I've seen it isn't just that.

I've noticed on several occasions where a genuinely good deal gets posted and steadily climbs up over the hours only to suddenly then drop well below zero within the space of only a few minutes. I suspect there might be a handful of people with way too much time on their hands and multiple accounts at work but without access the the raw data / tracking cookies it's difficult to say for sure.

And it doesn't help with all the supposed "deals" being posed that many of the good ones get missed as genuine HUKD users just don't have the time to wade though all the fluff.

Sure, there are a lot of people that buy into "branding" loyalty to ridiculous lengths. (That can be levied against Apple, Android, Sony, Microsoft,Nike, Addidas, the list goes on!) However, that wasn't what was being argued by the poster, it was just a plain dig at iOS users full stop.

There's too much of that banding around Hot UK Deals lately. People voting down products and deals purely because they don't "like" a brand itself. It's spoiling the site, stopping people from being made aware of deals that should have been "HOT" but weren't because of it.

On a side note: I think the inner geek in me would prefer a "Satis" toilet out the two.

There was a programme on TV a while ago, a part of which looked at social stereotypes. Using publicly available data they found that these perceptions were in fact mostly correct.

Now I'm not disagreeing with you in that I'm sure there are some people who buy iDevices for non-religious reasons just like there are some Merc & BMW drivers who are actually courteous but the thing is a great many are not.

And when you see products like the one below you have to ask yourself: what kind of person would buy this?

We live in a world where people spend thousands on cars, holidays, Tv's, Sky Packages, alcohol and smoking. The choice of phone, tablet or any other item of purchase is theirs, and theirs alone. I don't immediately walk down the street, see a guy driving a sports car and think to myself "What a wally, he could have bought a Dacia Sandero and saved himself thousands. He must be an idiot." Your presumption that iDevice owners are people with more money than sense is pathetic. It's the same as tarring all Android owners under the "part of the great unwashed/benefit street" brigade.

Truth is, I own an Apple TV, iPad, iPhone. I've happily owned a Samsung Galaxy, Galaxy Note 2 and currently also have an Nvidia Shield under my tv. My partner wanted a new phone a year and half back, so I recommended her a Sony Xperia Z3. My mother in law wanted a very basic phone that fit her needs, so I got her a Vodafone Smart 6. All android devices. We make choices based on our own INDIVIDUAL needs, wants and budgets. That's what Hot Uk Deals is about. I can't imagine you getting hot and bothered over what make of toaster I have, or what style of mug I drink my coffee out of.
