Pretty good deal for a 980Ti with 5 year warranty.
Will trade places with or beat a 1070 when both overclocked. Uses a fair deal more power though and only has 6GB vs 8GB VRAM of the 1070.

There are a couple of reasons why I would find the extra money for the GTX1070.
It uses a lot less power. We're talking an easy 100 watts here. So most of them run so cool they can turn off their fans. Even at full load they are virtually silent. This is a big boon. It also has more memory.
Possibly most importantly however Pascal does offer improvements in DX12 performance. It's not as significant as AMD. But 980ti can actually perform worse in DX12 than in DX11 in some games. Maxwell doesn't play well. In other words, GTX1070 is virtually always faster and will be more so into the near future. It's not by much, but faster it is.
Finally this 980ti is still a £320 video card. If you are considering spending this much money on a card you should really really get the newest model you can find. You're not exactly cheaping out on a £300 video card are you? So don't do it for the sake of another £40.

This is easy, if you're spending this much just pay £40 more for a Palit GTX 1070 from Ebuyer or Scan, newer architecture and will have longer driver support.

Already own a Zotac 1070, so not looking to buy - but if I was this would be very tempting. Heat!

The 980ti is not far off the stock 1080 for hundreds less it said on the techradar website. Just a thought.

monitors should not be used for the purpose, 4k TV's are the best for that, far superior for picture quality and cheaper proportionally, skip rubbish lg, Panasonic, some other rubbish makes and should be fine

Yes it might be on par performance wise with the 980ti at this current time, but the 1070 has a newer architecture which will benefit direct x 12 games. As nvidia drivers mature the 980ti will become a lot more buggy as the new generation cards will be prioritised, it will fall far behind the gtx 1070 in terms of performance/fps. Plus 2gb extra ram, less power required and to top it off it sounds no way near as noisy as a gigabyte gtx980 ti g1.... that card sounds like an airplane, oh and also far less heat

once the drivers mature for the new series of cards you will see bigger gaps in performance 100%. Spend the extra cash and futureproof why don't you

bobo this is a graphics card - you bought up hdr - if you are using a tv then it probably isn't for computing unless you are going to stick it in a htpc (home theatre pc) hdr monitors are not on the horizon stay on point - this isa good deal and a card that will last 2ish years before replacement

I simply wanted to point out that at this price, the gtx 1070 is a much better deal and who can afford this one at this price can certainly afford a gtx 1070 and also less loss when it will come to sell

Just for information purposes. Zotac RMA's are no longer processed in the UK. All customers now have to send their cards direct to Hong Kong.
I've been a member of that forum for over 13 years. I don't believe .what he is actually saying. He's mentioned this previously with other branded cards, then after one year it's sort it out with the manufacturer when you send a customer note to OcUK themselves. I'm willing to bet after the first 28 days, they will send the card off to Hong Kong and you are waiting at least a month for an out come.

Hot deal but the eye can't see more than 30fps so what's the point?
Just been playing battlefield 1 open beta with 980ti around 60-85 fps (x34 3440x1440)

Old gen that will be surpassed by Rx480 in usability.

Usability? What do you mean by that. This is much faster than an Rx480.
The 480 is an utterly average card, it doesn't offer anything a 970 didn't offer 2 years ago. Similar performance, similar price, similar power usage, worse overclocking.
Yes it has a fuller Dx12 feature set but that won't see it get near a 980Ti or 1070.

Don't give me this BS. 980ti is a step up from a 980 which is comfortably beaten by 480 in dx12, and future games. saying 480 is like a 970 is like confessing in having brain damage.
Also the old gen Nvidia cards will see driver support fall off after some time as they are already considered legacy hardware. You lunatic.

980 slaps a 480 around in DX11, and performs similarly when both are overclocked in DX12.
Come back with something more intelligent than insults.
