Wouldn't risk reanimated hard drive to save a few quid. Still good price. My porn collection is worth more :man:

Mine arrived today. No instruction in box and a small piece of plastic floating about within the drive's casing. Some detailed testing will need to follow now.

Mine arrived yesterday. Installed firmware update and tried a diagnostic via the utilities menu... Hung at 90%. Goggled and it appears a common issue. I did a reset (the 2nd option of of the 3 reset options in the utilities) and now it completes the diagnostic fine.

good price however atrocious customer service took almost more than 2 months to refund a dishonerd discount code over charged me despite the invoice stating the correct value ,finally refunded after sending a letter before action then sent me another 20% off code afterwards as in the way of an apology , which of course didn't work !!! never again

I have 2 x 2tb portable drives for xbox 360 and xbox one and 2 x 4tb my clouds for plex media and 2 x 4tb my books as back up and another 2 x 2tb my books as backup for my synology nas which are all recertified from wd store and all work flawlessly. there are many a Easton for them to be resertified for example a customer returns one back to tesco after opening it and deciding they dont like it. tesco can not resell it as new because it's been used, therefore it goes back to wd and they sell it on as recertified. recertified does not necessarily mean it's a repair job.

Bought a 2TB re-certified drive last month from a deal posted on here for about £45.
Delivered promptly and packaged as if brand new with sticky plastic covers on a brand new case containing the drive.
First time I used it it kept dropping the connection to my pc.
Ran WD lifeguard tools and it reported 'too many bad sectors'.
Had to raise an RMA but to be fair it went without a hitch but decided against another.
In saying that, I'm having to chase them for a refund despite sending my drive back early last week.

£20/TB seems to be the magic number right now, but not for recertified. That brand new 3TB Toshiba @ Argos (£65 but with £5 voucher) was the best deal of late.

Good deal but I've gotta hold out for 5 or preferably 6 TB otherwise I will be buying more HDDs in 12 months times!

100 megabytes per second over the network.....really? that is amazing some decent NAS's would struggle making that!

I had the Seagate equivalent which failed after about 8 months. Maplin replaced it with this, and have to say that so far I can't fault it...

i get 100megabytes per second on mine. It may do more but my hardware is limited to gigabit bandwidth.
I came on here to check nobody else had posted after I spotted this on the WD site. Bizarrely its cheaper than the 3TB re certified version and only £15 more than the 2TB. I probably wouldn't use it for sole storage but as a backup and media server for the home network it seems great value.

Bargain. Well worth picking up at this price. I have a refurbished one of these for over a year now and it's great.

I suspect it might even be a misprice as the 4TB My Book without the cloud features is £77.99 though all the recertified prices are due to go down given some of the deals lately

Watching this one alot - its normally £104.99. They still have the 3Tb for £84.99 which you are accidentally linking to. Correct url should be:
