Looks like they're giving it the nationwide stamp of approval.

This was posted two days ago, and expired for reasons I can't fathom. I picked up one today in Cambridge (none left) and there are a few left across the country, including Glasgow.
It's NOT an item that's listed on the website, as its clearance. Seemed like Cambridge were having a refit.
It has nothing to do with, and no integration with Hive to the best of my knowledge, but you might find a more general home automation App that works with these AND Hive "separately" if that makes sense. You could also use IFTTT to link the two, if Hive has an IFTTT API. Pretty sure WeMo does.

Oooooh it's also listed on Staples stock system as a "Home Automator" or something similar. That caused some confusion with the very helpful girl in Cambridge. She was out the back looking for a "Home Automator" that she obviously wouldn't find, and by luck, I mentioned the box would say "Switch + Motion" and she immediately said "OH! I've found that. I'll grab that then!"

What are motion staples? They sound painful.

If the Wemo Light, Switch and Insight are anything to go by, these are rubbish.
I have strong WiFi through my house on both AC and N bands. The Wemo products either fail to remain connected or they freeze, assuming they ever setup in the first place.
I know this is only £10 but it'll be as reliable as £10 on a 500/1 outsider winning the Grand National.

Thanks! Good to know! I tried them very briefly before, but decided against keeping them.
I've had some Silvercrest alternatives for a while now, and whilst the App is terrible, they're actually very reliable, even when I'm away and using 3G/4G. I'm hoping just to use the motion sensor to trigger other things, but it sounds like that may be wishful thinking!

If you want to ring your local staples first then the product code to ask them is 418726

I've personally not had any problems with the WeMo Switch before, even hooked up to Apple HomeKit via Homebridge. Out of stock in Milton Keynes.

That doesn't answer the question though. "What is it?"
Great deal if you can get it. Disappointing experience in Slough today where the "plenty of stock" they had on the phone miraculously turned into no stock 10 minutes later when I arrived in store.

They obviously clocked on to the price and thought "hmmm I'm having that and chuck it on eBay"
