Maplins have similar window cleaners as the ones from Aldi, at the same price. Don't know if either of them are any good.

How would these do at cleaning solar panels in a hard water area?
On a bungalow, standing at the level of the bottom of the room - ones at the back are quite hard to reach (I was using a mop attached to big stick, but that only got so far :).)

How much is a bag of DI? How hard is the water? You could run this through an aquarium filter and it would work.
Yes I am a window cleaner and yes I owned a DI system but traditional methods are the best and only way to clean a window.
These DIY systems keep window cleaners in a job.

my brother is a window cleaner and filters his water before he uses the pole fed system so its correct. if your window cleaner uses the old bucket and such method they shouldn't leave enough water on the window to need filtered water thats why they dont use it.

That is only if they are taking the water off the windows. Wfp cleaning uses pure water which is left to dry by itself and leaves spotless clean windows.

Could you not just dry them off a telescopie squeegee or drying cloth? Edit - this has a squeeqee on the head as well?

Thats strange because every window cleaner iv'e ever known just used water from the tap.Including an uncle who was a window cleaner for 40 years.

If you want clean windows using this method of cleaning you'll need water that goes through a filtration system (that cost £1000's) otherwise you'll get water stained windows with dried streaky runs from all the minerals in the tap water. Yes, I'm a window cleaner

Check extension length and beware this will leave stains if your water is hard and it will leave a lot of water if not allowed to drain quickly
