I agree that O2 Customer Service is better, I was with Vodafone for 20 years and left 2 years ago and joined O2 but O2's 4G is shocking poor compared with Vodafone, I think nobody can touch EE for 4G for now. I am unable to stream anything once I reach 720p on Youtube or other apps with O2 network, 1080p and 4k is just a no go buffer zone.
I found 4G with vodafone to be extremely fast but the thought of joining them again gives me the fear as no doubt about it they are the worst company on the planet for Customer Service.

I recently changed to Vodafone and s far they have been fantastic, I needed to sort out some roaming texts as I was working abroad and I couldn't believe how nice they were on the phone., turns out a text activates the £3 per day roaming charge, I didn't realise this. They apologised for not making it clear and refunded me 12 days worth of charge! (deal has changed now to included texts)
Great service and coverage is so much better than O2 on the east coast of UK.

Seems a pretty good deal. For those who are interested there is a redemption deal of this same tariff via e2save that gives better value (works out £8 pm) posted last week. You have to do the cashback stuff but e2save have never given me trouble with these deals in the past.

I would check your credit rating as they are notorious for black listing people all because they are unable to carry out a simply task of getting a bill correct

There is no such thing as blacklisting. The worst they can do is bar/disconnect you for not paying your bill and mark your credit file as late/no payment.

I just got a 20GB, unlimited calls and texts, 12 month, Red tariff (free Spotify premium/ Now TV entertainment package/ Sky Sports mobile) for 40% off the normal £37/ month PLUS £80 of credit, making the effective monthly bill under £12/ month. The moto of the story is keep talking to disconnections staff until you get to a helpful one
i got one from here by mobiles.co.uk same stuff but 20gb and 10.50 per month after easy cashback

I went for this. Do you know if the contract begins when they send out the sim And you recieve it.
Or is it when you activate it

cash back is horrendous..if you miss one cashbook you won't get very able to receive anymore.. so just be careful.

Try marking your account as defaulted even though you have a confirmation of account being closed

I've been with both O2 and Voda and I personally think Voda is better.. network service by Miles and customer service is better as well. no one should really have to go through any ****. just make sure you get a full name and that your speaking to UK staff. your mind will be at ease

That's still not "blacklisting" though.
I'm well aware though that Vodafone are not managing credit files properly. I have an account showing on mine which was closed well over a year ago yet still shows up every month on my credit file as payment made in full and on time!

Warning for those doing it through Quidco for cashback. Make sure they don't cancel the order in store when you go to collect your sim, like what happened to me. If they do, then don't accept the sim and do the order online again, don't let them do it in store.
I went for a similar deal about a year ago and after months of endless phone calls, emails and live chat I never got the cashback.
When I went to collect my sim in store there was a "technical issue" so they had to cancel my online order and ended up being put through as a store order. This meant the Quidco couldn't be tracked and the store probably got commission for processing the order.
However I took my complaint to the Ombudsman and ended up getting compensated more than the cashback amount, screw you Vodafone!

Presumably store staff wanting to boost their sales numbers? Very cheeky!!

Might be interested if they upped the data to compete with EE's 16Gb deal.

This deal looked fantastic & even used code to get an extra 20% off, but have had to cancel my contract after 3 weeks due to poor service & random 4G. Area I live in has great 4G service, but availability was intermittent. Data was not registered to my contract, so kept getting messages every 250Mb saying I was over my data limit at £6 a go. 20% off code worked but as the deal already contains a discount, Vodafone would not honour it, even after showing my conformation email.

Vodafone customer service can suck although not as badly as orange's woeful service in my experience  If you keep trying you MAY just find someone helpful!

I have vodafone. Yes its a great deal. But...and its a big BUT.
BUT after 5 months use I have had to call them every single month to query my bill.
To date they have added 0800 number charges for 3 out of 5 months - I paid for the £2.50 addon for 0800 numbers from day 1
They have charged me £115 for data while I was on world traveller for £5 a day.
They have made other mistakes - every month without fail.
To date - I have complained every month and got credits of almost £200 in total back.
I'm now resigned to calling up every month to query my bill. I never had to do that with Three, O2 or EE.
So YES do the deal, but beware the hassle that awaits you in customer service !
I did get SPOTIFY for free though !
oh and check your bill very carefully - EVERY MONTH!!
