Due to Poundworld opening up the road, which is just what we need. Now if there was only somewhere to get a cup of coffee...

If you want to discuss shops using clever but misleading names to attract customers, let's mention my personal favourite, ''the original factory shop'' or 'tofs' as they seem to use in marketing now.
It is certainly not a factory shop in the true meaning of the phrase, although almost everything they sell is produced in a factory of course, and it most certainly is not original, in that many other retailers were buying factory seconds and over production lines long before them, but what a fantastic bit of marketing.
We have one near me and it has killed the local high street family businesses, which were struggling anyway when competing against online and Chinese sellers, but never mind it's all progress.

Everything EXECPT the stuff that isn't. I know it is being pedantic but it really winds me up that Poundland try and flog you stuff that is more than a pound as well. If they want to sell stuff over £1 then be up front about it and call themselves something other than pound land.

They have already started trialling this in the south in stores rebranded to Poundland & more. Also nowhere does it state everything is £1; rather its slogan is amazing value everyday. But if you're so diametrically opposed to shopping there due to this issue my suggestion would be to also avoid Poundworld as they also offer this as "managers specials". Oh and also it's "except" not EXECPT

Have they changed the name to ninetypenceland?
Doesn't sound as good if they have, but a saving I suppose.
