Gaaa, just logged on to get a couple and am too late. Was a very good price for good quality shirts - way, way above your Next etc.

CT shirts are decent. TM shirts that aren't non-iron are dreadful.
Neither are as bad as the junk you find in next, M&S etc.. so stop complaining

Yes, Tyrwhitt are a class above most shirts and seem to last forever and a day, still looking great years later.

What is nowadays... Everything from electronics to chocolate bars to clothing. All about money and not caring for the customer/buyer. :disappointed:

You joking? Guess you don't wear shirts much. Or shop in Tesco.

They used to be made in the UK, now they are made in asia, they sew on one button and then put on a Made in UK sticker.
The quality is not the same.

Work shirts are always so cheap from tm and Charles Tyrwhitt but where do you guys get trousers for a decent price?

I can never remember if it's Lewin or Tyrwhitt but I've found these to be pretty short lived shirts. Also, for them "non-iron" seems to mean "iron' and their normal shirts are completely impossible to iron.
They very regularly fail on the elbow for me.

Always used to purchase TM Lewin, until I found Tyrwhitt and became a convert, as I'd say the latter are of superior quality.

i agree 100%. lewin and tyrwhitt seem virtually identical. wouldnt be surprised if was same far east factory. only benefit of tyrwhitt iver lewin in the warranty. i bought 5 shirts from tyrwhitt and had all but 1 replaced within the 6 month warranty they offer. all gone on the elbow.
i've been told thats its down to the non iron process which is applied to the cloth. the cloth is 'broken' in a certain direction (by passing it through rollers or something similar) to encourage it to lie in the right direction and this discourages creases. Unfortunately this also weakens the cloth causing it to tear more easily.
last few times ive bought from the sale section of 'the thin red line'. similar style, cut and quality and generally able to pick up shirts around a tenner.

The contrasting trim on the inside collar spoils it for me, I prefer just one colour.
