It might be worth adding that this only fully works for new customers as existing customers will have to choose between either the cashback or the amazon voucher. They can't get both. Hot either way.

Edit: Actually, acording to Quidco existing customers can't even get cashback.

"Cashback will not be paid for upgrades or any special deals for existing customers"
platterfish to traileruk

Both Quidco TopCashBack state they will give you both the cashback and amazon voucher on a Cashback new contract at full price regardless of whether you are existing or not, as long as its new available to all and not a special deal under your account offers.

I'm unsure where you're reading it says you have to choose??

I pasted the quidco terms in my last post. And Three only give the £50 voucher to existing customers if you go in store. They wont give existing customers the voucher if purchased online/phone.

"An “Eligible Customer”, being either:
i. A new Three customer who, within the Promotion Period, signs up to or takes out an additional contract for an Eligible Plan (defined below); or
ii. An existing Three customer who, within the Promotion Period, upgrades to an Eligible Plan (defined below) in store only (existing customers who upgrade via telephone or online will not be eligible)."
platterfish
24 Aug 16 #5
Upgrade and new contract are two different things... i feel you're reading it wrong..
An existing customer special deal (shows in your account as an offer) is also different to an existing customer 'new' contract (full price available to all)

although point

i. A new Three customer who, within the Promotion Period, signs up to or takes out an additional contract for an Eligible Plan (defined below);

could be clearer - it looks like it means if you take a new additional contract (to take this you would have to be a customer already!!)

It is a good deal, I do not have any trust in them though after the one plan saga, upping the price to double. I accept small price increases but any company that honestly believe they can increase a monthly payment from £15 to £30 are not trustworthy.

I'm still furious with three after they doubled the price of my plan and got rid of all you can eat data. I'll never use them again. Be warned, they could hike up prices and/or change the allowances. They've done it before...
sancheez to evostick47
25 Aug 16 1 #28
Except they didn't.

They scrapped the one plan, and "suggested" the £30 one as the most similar replacement. I know because I was in exactly the same boat. You were not tied into the replacement plan. And they gave you plenty time to call them and change to something else when they switched your one plan off. Again, I know as I did exactly that. In fact, I switched to this exact deal. They checked my usage and I seldom went over 10gb per month.

The One Plan was not sustainable. With unlimited tethering, people took the p1$$ and pretty much replaced their home broadband with it. It was always going to get canned.

They're still the best value for me. I checked all the other options when I got the letter cancelling my One Plan. And Three still came out best.

Obviously, I would have preferred to keep my "unlimited everything for hardly any money", but I couldn't. I also wasn't cutting my own nose off to spite my face so stuck with Three in the end anyway.

Vodaphone reception in my area (awful) and EE pricing (high!) obviously helped their cause.

Over the last 7 or 8 years I've been on pretty much all the networks and I have to say that Three's coverage (voice/data) is far superior. I do a lot of camping in quite remote areas and I've never not had a signal on Three. Even a campsite in a Welsh valley that guaranteed no signal and wanted to charge £10 a day for Wi-Fi - still got 3G. I can't recommend them enough. Not had to deal with their Customer Services yet though. For this price, hot from me!

I'm on Three, it's cheap and reliable but poor network coverage compared to the bigger networks

25 Aug 16 #29
Also don't forget the one plan was £25 a month but three where nice enough to give you a £10 recurring discount monthly... so in effect all they did was cancel the discounts and then up the cost by £5.

So if you take out a Three 1 month SIM contract you get £105 cashback, given they only seem to offer 1 month and 12 month SIM only contracts. Surely that can't be right ? So which "Contract SIM on 8GB+" are eligible for the £105 cashback ?

Just left Three for the EE deal posted on here.
Three in my opinion is now lagging behind the rest of the pack in terms of coverage. There network is over populated and 4G coverage is poor (recent trip to Cornwall, I had no coverage with three yet my EE data sim had full 4G and was pulling in 80mbps)
There customer service is poor (most like the other networks I imagine) and is always in India. Feel at home is an advantage but for the sake of once or twice a year then get a three data sim. Feel at home is also restricted to Hspca and no 4G and can be slow.
Most other networks now offer something similar (for example the EE deal posted includes calls and texts from all EU countries, and data is £3 a day and includes 4G)
Just my 2p worth and I was a three customer for 7 years.
dibbz to delvey1987
25 Aug 16 #53
I found that EE will lie to you to get your custom in mine and other experiences....promises never fulfilled and when you complain they turn around and say they never said that and the call was not recorded!!!

No network is perfect throughout the uk in terms of coverage

Strange, there seems to be two options for the SIM only contracts, one where you get 105£ and one where you get £47 for top cashback. There's nothing clear about it. The Quidco site only gives 100£ for taking out an unlimited data sim if you want the Amazon voucher but you can take out virtually any 12 month SIM if you don't mind not having the voucher

25 Aug 16 #44
I've just signed up for this. Seems a great deal. Much prefer the extra GB allowance over the minutes. If I submit the Amazon voucher based on the number they issue me, then port over my number, would this cause the claim to fail? Or would it be best to process the voucher claim in a few days - after my number has ported across to the account?

Ok guys.

Just to add my 3cents. (get it)

I have just gone ahead with this deal myself.

I went with 600mins x unload txts x 8GB data for £19 on a 12month sim.
I got £50 amazon voucher that I get to claim after 14 days. This is due to the cooling off period for online purchases.
I went via Quidco. The cash back is stated as £100, but as of right now I have received a confirmation email tracking at £90.09. I'm assuming that will update soon enough.

I used to work for Three and they are absolutely fine and are a lot better than the rep they got themselves years ago. The network is also as good as any other, if not better than some.

If you are ok with waiting for cash back then this is a really good deal.

Hope this helps

Why is this tracking so low? £6.50 for 8gb, 500 mins etc after the cashback and amazon.

Cancelling mine tomorrow. Clearly states in topcashback that this amount changed from £110+ to £0.00 because of the merchant. Nothing to do with TCB. Three are definitely trying to pull a swift one.

The overall price would have been about £4.50, a great deal. If you stay and providing the Amazon voucher arrives it will stand you at around £12p/m. Lost my custom anway.

5 Sep 16 #104
As per the other thread. If you read the TCB terms it states it will track at £0 until validated. Validation will occur after 3 months. Cancel by all means - I am waiting to see what happens in3 months. If they don't deliver its simples - never use TCB again.

Yes, but for lots of us it tracked at £106, and then went down to £0 today. Reading the footnote its states this means it will be declined. The choice we will all have to take is to wait or cancel and try our luck with another provider.
deeeemon666
6 Sep 16 #106
mine hasn't even tracked yet. Got an email of TCB saying they they have submitted to merchant. Got a feeling I may be getting shafted here, although I will fight this out if needs be as probably wont get a response before my 14 days is up.
mhandley91
6 Sep 16 #107
Mine tracked at £106 and now has been marked as £0 payable... Ridiculous! I'll be cancelling on principle if TCB don't sort it before the cooling off period is over. What a scam
stuartw
6 Sep 16 #108
In a similar situation. I believe the cooling off period is 14 days. TCB only chase after 7 days, leaving 7 days for them to resolve which would not be enough time (even if the full 14 days), thus I am going to cancel on day 13 too.
I do think it's wrong that the cashback is not guaranteed as the money is coming from Three and thus could be argued it is part of the price they are offering (having a moan)
deeeemon666
6 Sep 16 #109
Its strange I've never had a problem with them, very friendly when going through customer service etc. I'm thinking along the lines of if it does get declined just telling TCB that its out of order. They covered a casinos cashback for me earlier this year where Gala (or whoever it was) illegally declined cashback so TCB took them to court and covered my cashback as good will.

I have challenged them on the fact that it initially tracked at the £110, but I stupidly didn't take any screenshots like I normally would with a too good to be true offer.
They are also saying that it is entirely out of there hands and just up to three.

does the 14 days start when you ordered or when it arrived and made it active?
willevans716533
6 Sep 16 #114
Cheers for that, I will keep on trying to get a decent answer from topcashback, but will start looking for an alternative while I still have time to cancel.

Just cancelled my contract. Never mentioned topcashback, just told them my coverage wasn't very good at my home.
Tried to put me through to the technical dept but just stood firm and asked them to cancel. 40 mins later, job done. Was told i'll be getting 2 bills! Then told to ignore them and wont have to pay anything.

Good luck to all those holding out.

I've lodged a cashback claim. I've looked around and I don't think I can beat the deal even without the cashback (£12.83 p/m after amazon voucher). Having said that I'll probably still leave out of principle. Not really one who likes to be taken for a ride by big companies
faddy54
6 Sep 16 #117
I don't remember that but with my memory that proves nothing. I wonder though whether they may have removed reference to the voucher at some point. I ordered on August 31st.

I'm with you buddy. I did find some OK deals on mobiles.co.uk.. but they are all cashback by redemption.

Either way, I refuse to give my money to a company who tries to pull a fast one on me.

A small update
I phone 3 on Friday, stating I want to leave within the 14 days,
I referenced the TopCashback £100 ish not tracking.

(After going through to the third person), they were aware of it and have logged it on my account.
I would get a call in a few days and even if it is not resolved after 14 days I would be able to leave with no charges.

Will give them a call on Thursday if I haven't heard from them

Just an update here, my cashback is already on my bank account. I have withdrawn it as soon as it got payable.

Update here too....still not tracked after raising a claim!!

I called Three, finally getting through to Uk helpdesk. The guy took pleasure in pointing out that Three and Topcashback were separate companies, it is up to Three how and when they pay the cashback.
He couldn't check any systems to see if Three had registered I came from Topcashback.

So I've decided to cancel my contract with Three before the first payment goes out.
All a faff and general waste of time.
Will make me think twice of choosing TCB over Quidco (but I am sure people have had equally duff experiences with both.
Back to searching for a good deal

16 Sep 16 #131
How did you manage to get through to UK helpdesk? I had a bizarre conversation when I rang for a 14 day cancellation, including a lecture on the impact it would have on my credit rating and that I should think more carefully before taking a contract out.

It's like dungeons and dragons. You work your way through the maze, different wait times for the various level bosses, eventually you get the end level boss.
Game over.

phoned three up about the voucher, basically said wait until the end of november and not to worry. also regarding the top cash back I chesed the up too about mine still not tracked, they gave me some spiel about submission times etc and then all of a sudden my claim was on ice! bit annoyed at that as some people got theirs straight away according to the posts on here!
badasschris

yea same thing with quidco. I'm sure it will eventually pay out but is annoying they paid a load of people right away but ours aren't even being sent to the retailer for 3 months.

Got my Amazon voucher last week and have just noticed my Topcashback payment has moved from pending to confirmed. Also very happy with the service and especially using it in France - data speeds have been great.
