WOW! I feel old. Phantasmagoria was only released in 1995, I remember it like it was yesterday.
This looks like a fantastic bundle of Sierra titles, Phantasmagoria alone is £7.79 on GoG.com. Heated added, Rubisco. Thanks for the post

I remember it being crap even in 1995! I thought Dragon's Lair on videodisc was amazing in 1983 though even though it was largely unplayable.

This is one bundle that truly puts me into the 80's. First few games I remember playing are in this bundle - Space Quest 1 & 3, King's Quest 3. No point and click controls then - had to type out all your commands, sometimes quickly to avoid death - was an effective way to teach me how to type!!

decided just to get the $1 tier. cant justify the BTA on this at just under $9 now.. though fancied timeshift on Pc as i played it on 360/Ps3 a little.
was hoping for it to drop to the $5 mark... and i already have Velocity x2 which is awesome.. (in the tier above) and Geometry Wars 3 and the other games didnt interest me too much... well. not for that price

*at the moment. It, and most of these others, regularly come up for less than £2 each - for those who may already have the others and just need one out of this bundle rather than being forced to buy the same games again inside a bundle.

I'm sure you knew this was helpful to know for those who already own most of those, only wanted a couple of titles out of the list but didn't want to be forced to buy the same ones again.

Gabriel Knight - The Beast Within. This bundle does make you realise how old you are...

Anyone know if these include any possible updated versions or just the originals, or both?
As for Gabriel Knight 3 - one of the most satisfying games I've played in terms of depth of story, when willing to delve into it; *spoiler alert* Was basically dAvINcicOdE before dAvINcicOdE existed, long before, though I am aware itself was around later than a certain book.
Rubisco to MisterTIBS

Broken Sword was around before both, and is a lot closer to dAvINcicOdE in plot than GK3 is...

Any of these games suitable for kids? My son is 6 3/4 and we play adventure games together I got from humble bundle like freddie fish. I have sam and max from another bundle. I imagine police quest won't be suitable... and Leisure Suit Larry! But some I haven't heard of? Any I can play with my son? (I imagine too hard for him! He struggles with Pyjama Sam!! But that's what dads are for!)

think a lot of us old foggies who grew up in the 80s played police quest at between 8-12 years of age. subject matter is probably easier to grasp. kings quest is a good start, as is space quest. if the text based gameplay still exists, he'll build up vocabulary real quick. don't have this particular bundle yet so can't say for sure.

Awesome $1 tier for me. Nothing in the others to justify higher price, as I already have the Gabriel Knight trilogy. If you don't have GK then bta is very very worth it!

Interesting collection here. I don't think that I can really justify the jump above the $1 tier personally, but I can't deny the value that's there in the higher tiers - as the BTA price demonstrates!
As always, if anyone ends up with any spare keys, donations for my weekly giveaways are always welcome.

Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved is among my favourite games of all time! I pre-ordered the Steam version and later bought it on the PS4 and PS Vita. So I own three copies

Because, while of course nostalgia is likely to be a factor for some, these are very far from being "trash".

Only just saw Phantasmagoria on Steam yesterday and added both 1 & 2 to my wishlist. So happy this went on a bundle so soon, and for $1! Now to have my excitement shattered when I realise how terrible it actually is now.

I went for the $15 one, as I loved Caesar 3 as a child "plebs are needed."
never really played the adventure game stuff, I used to play lucasarts all the time but these seemed to have too many ways to die or get completely stuck for ever. Might have to give them a go again

Ceasar III best game ever created :sunglasses:

31 Aug 16#35
I wouldn't call them trash, but even at their time of release these were far from the cream of the crop, with Lucasarts adventure games outclassing them in puzzle design, story, humour, basically every meaningful way. The Kings Quests were particularly fond of dead ends where if you didn't do a thing correctly at an early part of the game you would not be able to beat the game, a fact that you would only find out just before the end, making it inadvisable to play them without a guide. The gabriel knights are probably the best adventure games in this lot, but haven't aged well either, especially the one that is FMV based. GK3 is infamous for having the moustache disguise puzzle, a puzzle so poorly conceived and so demented in its logic that it is often cited as the reason for the death of the adventure game.
Arcanum in the BTA tier is a very good RPG but suffers from horrendous balance problems. If you can get over that, then I'd say it's somewhere between icewind dales and baldurs gate in quality. It also gets discounted to below $2 on GOG quite regularly so you could always wait for that.
The $1 tier is obviously awesome value for some strong nostalgia purposes, so hot.

For those possibly interested, I posted over 5 years ago about a series of enhanced remakes of King's Quest 1 - 3 from AGD Interactive (Can't believe the first remake was over 15 years ago now). The remakes changed the text parser gameplay to be point and click and also provided the option to block dead ends from happening. As a bonus, there's good voice acting with the original King Graham lending his voice to the game too. http://www.hotukdeals.com/freebies/free-king-s-quest-iii-redux-game-agd-interactive-884994
I just downloaded KQ1 last night and it still works great.

Have fun tinkering with DOSBox settings for some of these. I've only looked at the Space Quest games, but they are set by default to display at original size, e.g. really small with huge black borders. To get them to display properly fullscreen on a modern, high-res screen you'll need to edit the config file for each of them.
It's the sort of thing they could've sorted with a decent launcher, instead of the low-effort one they packed in with the bundle.
