Did 3/4 weeks ago, got the tickets gave them to me niece and used them, also used the taste card to gain entry to Birmingham airport no 1 lounge last week, can't complain at free booze! Will cancel after I return from me jollies! Well worth the squid it cost!

Has anyone had any problems with restaurants not being keen to accept the tastecard or not giving good service because of it? e.g. with things like Groupon, I've found that some places definitely treat you like a second class customer if they know you're on a deal.

Tastecard round me used to have a really good selection of restaurants 5 years ago, some good local "high class" independents, but nowadays it's either curry houses - useful - or chains - not useful as vouchers are available - with very little variety in cusines available. Slowly on its way out, I feel.

To be fair - if you go out mid-week etc - it's great. But Tesco vouchers work at weekends and are better. Also they are total legal beagle so and so's if it come to renewing your membership. They bombard you daily from one address - then the "Renewal reminder" comes from a purposely weird address that goes into most folks spam account. Totally legal and above board.... But ethically shabby. Just be aware.

Just a heads up. Personally I would avoid this scheme if your intention is to cancel. The last time I tried this I had to hold in a que on the phone for over 45 mins before I could speak to someone to cancel. I also tried the day before and was in a que for over 30 mins before giving up.
IMO they operate their cancellation system like this so people are put off cancelling as cancellation can easily be done via an email.

I've had one with my bank for a few years. Used it once. Most places listed you wouldnt want to eat at. Places you do won't accept it on Fridays or Saturdays only in the week. May be better in bigger cities but where I live it's just all the places environmental health should have closed down available

I paid with Paypal. Just did not set a reminder so forgot. Much easier to cancel if ahead of renewal. Once renewed very difficult to get refund. That's the point. Why take any risk just for something that is freely available elsewhere - vouchers.

not worth it IMHO. Joined up ages ago for £1. Used once in promo period. Cancelled. job done. Joined up on next free trial. Never used it. Forgot to cancel. Auto renewed for £40. Their customer service was appalling and wouldn't accommodate. They rely on business from forgotten cancellation dates. Most of the discounts they offer are restrictive (certain nights) and can easily matched by voucher codes given out freely from the restaraunts themselves. Not worth the hassle or cost if you forget to cancel
