Fair play for the update - don't think I would have bothered to come back and change what I put , my advice was just general

I'm sure it's fine, but probably worth stretching that bit further and getting a frost-free model if at all possible.

Far too generalised a criticism IMHO. So far as refrigeration equipment is concerned, historically Italian products have been good mechanically, for instance Necchi compressors have been used in many manufacturers products. Sure there may be issues with the cabinet construction, fragile plastics etc. but for people who are careful or haven't got destructive offspring this may not be an issue.
*Update - maybe change that a bit, curiosity got the better of me and I've just found out Necchi stopped making compressors years ago. My excuse is I'm getting old and its a long time since I've had any involvement in the industry!

Yes I avoided paying £139.99 for my Hotpoint machine back in 2002 and 14 years later its still going strong and has never stopped working or had a breakage of a belt..
works out at £9.99 a year so far its cost me for it, absolute no brainer, but you go ahead and carry on paying over the top and I'll happily spend all that extra money I saved in a nice restaurant on a nice meal and have drinks in a lovely pub somewhere..
Yep so glad I avoided!
