got these at xmas...the range is shocking and u can't hear a word anyone says (apart from hearing it just outside the room due to the poor range...)

I always post how useless these things are when deals for them are posted in the vain hope that at least one person is put off buying a set. They really are the quintessential waste of money, regardless of how "cheap" they seem. They really don't work at all.
Better off buying a pair of proper walkie talkies for kids to play with. Binatone etc. start at less than £20

These are cheap and nasty talkies. Kids got them a while ago and couldn't even hear each other a few yards away.
Putting batteries into them quadrupled their value. Avoid these in every way and hope that heinz beans and string appears on hukd because that is a better option.

These truly are the worst thing ever - they just do not work at all = disappointed kids! Don't waste your money.
