Thanks for the tip off! I popped into cex last night and picked up a copy. Even if I play it just few times, it's well worth a tenner!
Loads. One of them is my 7yr old son who absolutely destroys me in this game now :disappointed:
I'm waiting for the DLC to come down in price so he can kill me repeatedly with Denga too.

is this just an online game? I'd be more than happy to get this to spend time on the sofa walking round doing single player missions.

This is one of the rare multiplayer games that I enjoy because it's easy to get into and have a bit of fun with.
Select one of the games that is flying and you're pretty much on a level playing field with everyone else.

The Survival missions are like Horde mode in Gears. Waves of enemies to beat back.
The new Skirmish mode replaces the online people in multiplayer with bots, so you can play Fighter Squadron or Walker Assault offline.

I'll stick to battlefield 4 for my online shooter fix

I've just started playing this.Playing the mission on tattoouine with the at-ats and escape pods but when i killed I use a life but is there an option to save the progress. When I come off it there's no save option in the menu

Could be mistaken, but technically there's nothing to save.
It's an online shooter for the main part, and the single player "missions" aren't story or progression based.

then you have to pay £35 for the rest of the game.

Can an online multiplayer game be played offline? Hmm let's see... I have no Internets! Argghh!

For those asking, yes this can be played offline. There are hero missions and survival modes which can be played alone and have been in the game since launch. Recently a skirmish mode was added which is walker assault versus bots - it's not great though as the bots respawn quickly in random spots and will make a beeline for the player whilst pretty much ignoring the objective.
This is definitely still mainly an online experience, and the DLC so far has been fantastic. Personally I love this game, but I understand why people were disappointed with the lack of content at launch.

This game is akin to Terminator 3, the first two films were classics and T3 was a total stinker. The first two Battlefront games were online gaming genius and this game is all graphics and they removed the gameplay that was so good with the first two games and did this BF4 Lite mutton dressed as Star Wars. This game stinks, I'd rather buy one of my own farts than this.

I think it depends on your gaming preferences. I'm not a big fan of FPS games (being utterly dire at them), not a fan of games where you're supposed to communicate with other people, and not a fan of military games... but I love Star Wars. I appreciate it's a game with severe limitations for FPS fans, but for a time limited player who likes Star Wars it's good fun.

First multiplayer shooter I have played and its been well worth the £15 I paid at the time. Used to get killed more often then kill but you can still beat 100 level players with a little luck from day one. Not bought any DLC but plenty to keep you occupied.

This is a good price. I have started playing it again recently and I am really enjoying it. It now has Offline Walker Assault that you can play in local split screen.
